The capsule was too hot when the curtain was closed. Maybe offer a small fan or adjust the temperature. Otherwise, everything else was great.

I love the concept of this hotel. I had a wonderful experience. My only complaint would be the pillow is VERY firm so western guest may not be use to this.

I’ve always been curious about capsule hotels so I gave this a try. Everyone here is silent. No one talks. It’s great if you want solitude. Free booze in the evening. Very decent rice, miso, and toppings. This set-up takes a little getting used to, but it’s a great option for a single guy who wants some quiet time and it’s close to all the excitement of Shinjuku.

My first stay at a capsule hotel. Quite optimized service for many people. The main complaint is that I did not know how to regulate ventilation in my capsule.

I did enjoy staying at Anshin when visiting my friends.
The location was excellent: nearby the JR stations, shopping places and department stores.
During my stay, I encountered heavy rains, but the location was just so convenient that I hardly got wet before I reached the JR station.
I also liked the service crew: they’re nice, patient and polite. English-speaking was totally fine.
One more thing, I did like their high-quality rice served in the canteen! A tiny but remarkable spot for the stay!
Definitely, I will come back next time.

It’s a capsule hotel so space is limited but the amenities are AWESOME. No complaints, very good experience.

Everything the did to provide was great, but very noisy at night and morning having 20 people in one room, everyone coming at different times and hearing constant alarms in the morning.

10/10 amenities & OK capsule
10/10 location
Only bad thing was no private shower

A good spot for a quick stay. Its a pod hotel so its meant to be kind of basic but the shared amenities make this a great value.

Lots of free stuff, rice 6am to midnight, soft drink coffee 24/7. If you don’t like being naked in front of others it will be difficult to shower since only one shower is actual stall with a curtain. The rest are sit down- traditional Japanese style. I got annoyed by going up and down to my locker (first floor) while beds are 4th floor and up.

I thought the property did a great job of making people feel welcome. The amenities are above my expectation. The only downside was the quality of the pillow and mattress. They were clearly substandard. My back was sore. Are the mattresses and pillows better above the basic level?

Accommodation was fantastic. I highly recommend solo travelers looking for short or longer stays to stay at Anshin. They have the basic necessities provided and is perfect for being out and about as it's right next to heart of Shinjuku and its train & subway stations. If you have bigger luggage, you can request to check it in to their storage or if its small enough there is a cable-lockable space above the lockers in the locker room to store as well. Part of the experience will be dependent on other guests. I stayed four nights and found it to be fine. Sure, some people snore, but it's really not big of a deal/nuisance.
If you are really tall or big, the capsule may feel too small/claustrophobic for you. I am 5'7" and found the size of the H100cm room to be more than enough. Go for the superior size if you feel this may be a factor for you.
The breakfast is curry and rice which is great to get started with the day. Rice is available with toppings from breakfast until midnight. The lounge space also includes manga novels and magazines for reading, office/computer space (upon request), and seating with outlets available overlooking the street.
I did not have tattoos to cover, but for those that do, I suggest you reach out to them to be sure it's ok. There was signage requesting they be covered in the washing spaces, so they do attempt to meet foreigners in the middle. The spa and sauna are super nice to use especially after long days out in the city.

Booked this to experience a capsule hotel and have rated this as a capsule hotel. The room was fine and staff were helpful and courteous. I stayed at the top floor, and they only have one small lift, so you often have to wait a while. Everything is quite cramped. Found it difficult with a large suitcase amongst the locker room. Don't be shy in the communal showers. This is not your normal hotel so I wouldn't recommend it for a whole family. It is more designed for businessmen sraying overnight. Location is great, right in the epicentre of food, night life and close to the train station. Room is good value given its location and includes free beverages as well as some food. Great for the experience but I think I will continue with more traditional hotels in the future.

Great capsule hotel experience

Overall good. Stayed for two nights and it was fine. Everything is extremely clean. There are some great free amenities such as toiletries, towels, rice, soft drinks and a free bar.
Check in is a bit weird - you get a pamphlet and a short presentation explaining how the hotel works, not ideal after a long flight.
The layout is very weird. Shoes off at the entrance and into a safe box, which you get a key for. Luggage also gets left on the ground floor in the dressing room. There’s a locker with a second, different key. If you bring a suitcase that won’t fit in the locker so padlock it to a high shelf, with a third key which the hotel supplies to. From there it’s easy. I just went up to my pod on the 6th foor - no key for this… you get in there with an electronic swipe. Capsules are clean and basic but comfy. Toilets are on every floor but showers are only on level 2. So you travel to level 2 for a shower, undress and leave your clothes in the locker next to the shower area, close that locker with yet another key.
Overall it’s good, clean, inexpensive, efficient accommodation.

Included so many freebies that even a hotel typically doesn’t include! Definitely a great place to stay!

Such a wonderful experience. The staff is super friendly and helpful, the amenities are excellent (awesome sauna and mineral soaking bath, free drink bar in the lounge every evening), and the location could not be better for conveniently getting around the city - or exploring incredible Shinjuku City. Cannot wait to return on my next visit to Tokyo!
