Simple but comfortable hotel even if the room wasn't cleaned very well; buffet breakfast is good and with a wide choice of savory and sweet food. Hotel is suitable for both long and short stays.

Better then expected! We booked 2 rooms for 4 people. Rooms are large and clean. I have had a great sleep night. Breakfast was very good as well. Polite customer service. The only thing I wish was there is a fridge. My first hotel in Belarus and I really liked it!

The location of the hotel was only a 10-minute walk from the Minsk Arena, where I was attending the European Figure Skating Championships. After that, it was easy to get a no.1 bus into the centre of town for sightseeing. It takes about 40 minutes by taxi to drive to The Sport Time Hotel (I paid £20 in sterling). The hotel has a 2-star rating so the facilities are basic but it’s very clean, warm & the rooms are spacious; it suited my needs perfectly & I would recommend it highly to anyone travelling on a budget. American dollars, Euros & Russian Roubles are readily accepted but the first bank I went to could not change Pounds Sterling & my UK bank couldn’t give me Belarus Roubles! I look forward to another trip to Minsk but in the summer, when I’ll be able to see the meandering river & the many parks; you can’t appreciate how very green this city clearly is when it’s covered with snow & ice!

The hotel was a good value for money, even breakfast was included in the price, though there wasn't a big choice of food but that was ok. They had good fried eggs which I like a lot. The room was very spacious and there were a lot of cupboards and spaces to pack my stuff. There was free wifi in my room. The double bed was comfortable for only me. The bathroom was okay but the shower cabin was leaking water. The staff speaks poorly in English, e.g. the receptionist girl in the early morning spoke only a few words.

I had a very unpleasant experience as Expedia.co.uk forgot to let the hotel know about my booking (for which I paid in advance). So when I and my child arrived, the hotel staff told us that there was nothing in my name. After I showed them the confirmation of my booking, they started making phone calls and initially said that there was no available room to give us. I was almost in tears as my son was due to take part in a competition the next morning!!!! It was extremely frustrating and I could not even make a phone call or use my phone to email as WiFi was really bad. After about 3 hours of waiting, the hotel staff finally said that Expedia confirmed my booking and they'd prepare the only room available for us.
