Convenience of location is good.
Staff, very friendly.
Rooms very dated… Electric outlets are old and worn down,( loose fitting if need to plug anything in ( luckily I had tape with me and had to adhere my plug to the wall to keep it in outlet)
Very noisy! could here guests next door, and staff in hallways.

We stayed for 3 nights to visit friends. Staff was very friendly, lobby was clean. Our room was clean, bed was very comfortable, but the bathroom needs a deep clean. I didn’t even want to sit in the tub. The baseboard, floor and walls need a good scrubbing. We would stay again, but with a new hotel going up in Oscoda, Lakeside needs to up their cleaning game.

The hotel was very clean inside and out
The bed was comfy and the breakfast was good.

Bed bugs, woke up the first night to discover bed bugs crawling all over, got a refund but discovered I was still charged for the first night, the area is beautiful but bedbugs, come on

It was great to be right on Lake Huron and to be able to park super close to our room and the little lobby/sitting area is nice. Staff is friendly.

Staffing is excellent

The first room we were given had not been cleaned. Woken up at 7 by a dog in someone’s room barking. Continental breakfast was extremely limited, out of coffee, pancake machine not working amongst other things. Pool closed due to repairs. If you just need a bed to sleep in it’s okay, but don’t expect anything above and beyond that

We had a good stay

Third time we've stayed here because it's the cheapest place in town. Showers are clean and work, beds are clean and service has been just fine. The breakfast is ok, hot pancakes and cold ceral options.

Only downside was the pool was closed for repair and with 4 young kids that is why we booked here was for the pool

She is truly an old girl with problems that come with aging. Room smelled musty; room was humid; lighting dark; no closet (but clothes rack) not much counter area in the bathroom.
Staff was A
Clean and comfortable bed, working appliances, pool and hot tub area looked clean and nice. Nice community room with seating, tv and vending machines. Breakfast area and breakfast supplied.
Direct walk to the beach with some chairs supplied and a picnic area and a covered table area with grills. Fire ring.

Kept trying to charge my card while I was there and 8 hours after I left. I called they said they were trying to refund me money but that was a lie. It was more than obvious

The location of the hotel is amazing and right next to the beach, where they a few fire pits and picnic tables along with an outside pavilion. They also offer a hot tub and pool which close at 10 p.m. It is close to town which is a plus and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was cereal, muffins, toast/bagels with coffee, milk and orange juice.
My only gripes are that the room and it's amenities are pretty dated, vending machines do not take cards, I only saw one set of pay washer and dryers for laundry and the A/C- Heat unit very loud. If you sleep with a fan next to your head like I do you probably won't mind, but others would likely get very annoyed.
Overall, not a bad place to spend a few nights. For longer stays I would probably recommend looking for another location.

Our plans fell thru at a near by camp ground and we needed a place to stay for the night. This was about the only place that still had a few rooms left. The front dest girls were great! The room was clean. We were able to enjoy the beach and watched the sun come up! I would definitely stay again.

Perfectly good, clean hotel with every basic amenity you’d expect. Property is really nice. We had a wonderful stay. Really enjoyed the direct beach access and the fire pits. Kayak rental place 2 miles down the road. We kayaked the Au Sable all day and then we roasted marshmallows on the beach with a bottle of wine… pretty great day.

The lake was beautiful and the kids loved the pool and hot tub so the place served its purpose for the stay. But the room was dirty. The bathroom floor had not been mopped and there was mold on the popcorn ceiling in the bathroom. The TV did not work. The pool was also overcrowded with a lot of kids that were not staying at the hotel but knew someone who worked there. All the tables at the hotel pool were taken up by the non hotel guests and it got really rowdy as there were very few adults for the number of kids in the pool. Also, the hotel has moisture problems, everything in the room was damp. The carpet felt damp to the touch, the clean towels in the bathroom were damp, and nothing would air dry in the room. Would not go back.

The room was clean and as depicted hot tub king suite. However, the door lock's battery ran out and we were locked out of our room. After running back and forth to the lobby for new keys, the front desk guy came up and fixed it, but we were locked out for 3 hours.

Had an issue with the toilet backing up and their maintenancestaff was of vacation, we had to use the public toilet in the pool area which they left oppen overnight for us and we were right next to

This hotel really surprised us! It was right on the beach, near restaurants and the city so you could walk if you wanted. You can tell it hasn’t been updated in a couple years but that didn’t take away from the fresh and cleanliness of the place. They had breakfast including waffles, cereals, bagels orange juice etc going until about noon. The best part is you have beach access and there are multiple fire pits, benches chairs and grills so it’s a hidden gem we found and we’re def coming back

Beautiful beach just outside the back door. We stayed for a night. It is a motel but all is clean.

Staff was friendly, polite. Went to our room and my wife checked the matress as she always does before we stay in a hotel. Unfortunately, we found several bed bugs on the mattress. The desk clerk immediately offered to change us to another room on the opposite side of the place, but my wife did not want to stay at this property at all given what we found. We checked out and were given a full refund.
