The owners were very accomodating and flexible, addressed my needs promptly and provided advice. The G/H is centrally located and walking distance to all major restaurants, offices and embassies.

5 minutes from waterfront, 8 minutes from town center this is a well placed hotel with friendly knowledgeable staff.

The staff are very friendly and helpful, and really make you feel welcomed and wanted. I would recommend that you book any taxis or tours through the hotel as they are cheaper than those offered by other tour companies in town and as just as good. Wi-fi is limited to the communal area and restricted to 100Mb per stay (although additional access was very reasonable at T$5 for an extra 100Mb). Breakfast was basic (toast or cereal), but the coffee top notch. Room was also rather basic and a bit dated (as seems to be the Tongan way), but was clean and comfortable. Bathroom had been renovated to a high standard, the only gripe being the take of a ledge to put one's toiletries, etc on. It is a 10-15 minute walk into town (even less to the Royal Tombs which are literally at the end of the road), but about half of that is unpaved and not particularly well lit at night. Also, the local alarm clocks of cockerel, barking dogs and church bells are set quite early, so this is not a hotel to stay in for a late lie in!

This hotel is within walking distance of the city and the harbour. It is cheaper than hotels on the water, and lacks some of their facilities, like air con. The bathroom is large and clean;the room is serviced daily. A problem with holes in screens was being addressed while I was there. Breakfast is toast or cereal. Staff are friendly and helpful. This could be a really smart hotel with more investment in the property itself and in staff training.

The staff are ever so helpful, always friendly and ready to serve! The service here was far more excellent than the service I received at Tanoa. Thank you all and keep up your excellent customers service :-)! I and my niece greatly appreciated!!!

I love Simons. The staff - each one of them - become like family. They all have the absolute best customer service and people skills. Its CLEAN and close to town and Safe.It was everything i needed. I wouldnt stay anywhere else. ( well i did but i checked out and went back to Simons) and heading back again at the end of the year. Totally recommend this place and hope their dreams become reality

Close to town. Probably a 15 min walk i guess maybe less, we used car and taxi each time which cost $3 and $4. There is a restaurant across from Simons although i never used it which opens till late. Simons has a night security guard for when staff is off duty for added safety but the motel is safe and is in a safe area.
The staff here at Simons are amazing. They go above and beyond yet are not pushy or intrusive.
Breakfast each morning was ample bread/toast jam, a couple of cereals, milk, tea, coffee and fruit- if not to your requirements BYO or head down to a cafe. The point is breakfast is offered every morning. Christmas breakfast was lovely and appreciated cooked by their Mum. Rooms and bathrooms are spotless as is the grounds. All the staff respect customers and their employment positions even when their boss is off site. They are grateful and proud. They will help you arrange tours etc or give local advice.
Ive met some lovely people staying here as in staff and other travellers. This is due to Simons staff feeling like family - you tend to sit around in your spare time and talk and get to know others. Im already planning my next trip back and will def be staying here.

Although our stay was satisfying I had some reservations. We had some misunderstanding from the beginning. I booked a Deluxe Double Room for two.We were given a room as far as I am aware I would not call it a Deluxe Double Room.I think it was one of the normal rooms with a double bed.I am sure the staff needs more training although they seemed to know what they were doing!Overall the staff were so friendly and the place is quite handy to every local eateries. One more thing I thought it's worth mentioning is the laundering.they charged per item you washed instead of charging for using the washing machine I thing it would be an expensive experience.I washed 10 items and charged TOP$10 dollars. In NZ I used laundromat and it charged NZ$6.00 to use a bigger washing machine.I think the misunderstanding I mentioned may have something to do with Hotels.com as well.

The best thing about this hotel is, without a doubt their staff. Super friendly, helping, accommodating. The hotel might lack some commodities (as to european standards) but this is an hotel for you to experience true Tonga. The rooms have a decent size and the bathroom was been renovated with modern materials. However, the carpet of the room has plenty of stains and I suspect there was some strange odor coming from those stains. Nevertheless, I would stay again at Simon's place on a future Nuku'alofa visit.

We had another wonderful stay at Simons Place. This was our second year in a row we have stayed at Simons Place. The staff were again friendly and welcoming nothing was to much trouble. Its is central to the CBD and walking distance to the many cool eaterys in Nuku'alofa and if you don't want to walk, grab a tuk tuk a cheap way of getting around. We would highly recommend Simons Place to stay while holidaying in the Kingdom of Tonga. Simons place is value for money. Cheers Paul and Katalina.

Good location for town, restaurants and ferries to other islands. The staff at Simons Place could not have done more to make us feel welcome. Nothing was too much trouble and great advice for places to go. We could have happily stayed longer than 5 nights. Sad to leave such lovely people behind. We were made to feel like part of the family.
