This was a wonderful place to stay. It was very clean, breakfast was delicious and the in room fireplaces divine. The weather was perfect which only made things better. Our hosts were friendly, helpful but not intrusive. It was simply a great trip.

The property itself is gorgeous, and the room we had was so cozy and warm. Max’s pub had really good food, and I loved the complimentary breakfast. There were some issues with finding staff when we needed them - every time I needed someone I had to track them down. And I think the biggest issue I had with my stay here was the fact that they allow pets. My partner and I tried to go to bed early so we could get to go skiing, but the room below us had a dog who would not stop whining - it almost ruined the trip. The reason we came out to this isolated area was to get some peace and quiet, but that dog made our trip worse. It’s not the staff’s fault that one of their customers decided to bring a noisey dog, but I do hope they change their pet friendly policy, as it can be disruptive to guests without animals. I can’t wait to stay here again, but my wish for next time is to have a more readily available staff and more peace and quiet.

I got this as a birthday present. We had a gas fireplace. It was a very cozy and hospitable environment. Breakfast was included which was great and plentiful. I wish I had taken a heavier jacket to fully enjoy the recommended areas but definitely recommend.

Upon check in we were greeted with warm chocolate chip cookies in our room! We had dinner that evening in their restaurant and the short ribs were delicious! The grounds around the property were impeccably manicured. The staff were very friendly and Jenn the owner even came and talked to us at our dinner there. We were very impressed.

Stayed one night. Kept in touch with Jen via text to let her know when we would be arriving as was driving up from Mass.
Nice comfortable room (only gripe is we were not shown the thermostat for heating - we stayed late Oct. I found it in the morning so was able to turn on heating). Decent breakfast options freshly cooked.
If visiting, definitely drive up to Mt Fosse and take the short hike to the top for 306 views.

Stayed here for a weekend with my mom. Everything about this location screams cozy. Our room had an electric fireplace which was a lovely touch to the room. The food was absolutely delicious with fresh ingredients. The views, oh boy nothing like Fall foliage, absolutely stunning. The owners were warm and welcoming. I look forward to coming back again!

Beautiful setting. We were there during a wedding weekend so really couldn't enjoy any time outside but will come back with the intent of hanging outside with a bottle of wine.

I was a bit disappointed having seen really good reviews. I did change my reservation from one bed to two queens and that messed everything up. We ended up being put in a bed with two twin beds. One was literally rocking back and forth when I sat on it - it was not comfortable. We also didn’t have any soap in our room, we had to go look for it. The bathroom door also didn’t close all the way. Overall it was very clean but I won’t be staying again.

It is not kid friendly. The staff over charge what I was quoted by Expedia . They were not helpful about it and borderline rude . Would not stay again or recommend, specially if u have kids .

The room was very noisy...we could hear people coming and going through the adjacent hall and the noise and conversations from the room above was very loud because of the very light or absent sound insulation, not because of the inhabitants. The diverse and interesting menu was what got us interested in eating in the dining room the night we stayed there, but the food was very disappointing. Good quality ingredients, but prepared with absolutely no flavor. In the instance of the Halibut entree, overcooked and flavorless. The rack of lamb and the accompanying sauce and potatoes were also without and flavor. The diner rolls were a nice texture and grain, but also no flavor. The Pumpkin Creme Brûlée was really just a pudding with melted sugar on top, not a real egg custard such as you would expect to find. Breakfast was much better, and service from every staff member we interacted with was of the highest quality. Too bad about the very noisy room conditions and the chef !

This Inn is a traditional New England gem up in the mountains. The food is excellent and the views are spectacular.Wonderful place to unwind. And Crystal Lake provides a cooling spot with New England fresh water. Don’t miss Max’s restaurant.

We came to attend a wedding nearby. We loved the inn. The view is amazing, the staff and the owners very friendly and efficient, and we really enjoyed our two drinks and dinners at Max's. We can't wait to come back.

A wedding reception was taking place below our room, complete with DJ and loud music. The owners left the property so we had no one to express our concerns to, except the cook for was having a party for her family. A phone number they left us was answered by a machine. We called at least twice before bringing our bags down a tall flight of stairs and leaving. The proprietors did not call us until one week later. After driving two hundred miles to get there, we had to find a hotel at 9 p,m,, in a remote area, We had no idea where we were.

The whole experience was very good. The only slight drawback was the lack of tea/coffee making facility for guests. However this is a minor element for an otherwise excellent guest house

The room was lovely, very cozy, bed was incredibly comfortable. I really appreciated the breakfast not being buffet style, and the food was thoughtful and delicious. The breakfast experience was my favorite part, and I did not get to experience the restaurant, but it looked like such a wonderful and romantic dining experience.
