We stayed for 1 week we had multiple family members so we had 4 rooms the service was good the rooms were clean the only issue was that they were spotty at refilling the room minibars everyday. The food was great at the buffets , we had a personal assistant (because we booked through hotels.com/expedia) so she would find a reservation for us each night at one of the many signature restaurants ( seafood, steakhouse, Mexican)

This resort is great for families. We traveled with a 10 yr old, 9 yr old and 7 yr old. If you’re looking for a gastronomic, plush experience for adults, this may not be your pick. If you want a buffet that solidly delivers kid must haves (nuggets, French fries, burgers, ice cream), staff that’s incredibly understanding and patient of kid demands, and adds lots of family friendly surprises along the way, this is your place. Our kids were thrilled when they unexpectedly launched paddle boats in the pool, would patiently serve virgin pina coladas and daiquiris all day long and put on a night time silent disco just for kids. The mattresses are “fine,” the cleaning staff is great and our concierge, Kilvania was responsive and attentive. We’d happily book again.

It was amazing, since we got to hotel, everyone will greet you so polite .
The only thing is that we have to wait like 4 hours for our room, since we got really early, they offered breakfast during our wait. Still waited 3 hours in the lobby.

We were at Malia just 2 weeks ago and loved our stay! Our concierge Anny Liriano was absolutely awesome. She made all our dinner reservations and checked on is daily! We will definitely be going back again!

The hotel is in pretty bad condition, is very old. Service is non- sense. They have no idea what to do, what is going on. Too big to handle it right.

The property is very big. I did not feel it was walkable. The staff and the food are excellent. We enjoyed the concierge service. I did not like the beach with all the people selling things. It was very noisy and hard to relax. The pool was fun.

We had a great time there and everything was amazing except we had told them that it was our child's birthday and they said they would offer us a free dinner and take us to breakfast and said the breakfast would take 45 minutes but that turned into a 2 hour presentation where they tried convincing us to be apart of there 10 year membership. We told them to make this process quick because we didn't expect this at all and our kids wanted to get to the pool but they wouldn't let us go.

PSA: Major safety issue. If you are currently at the resort or planning to come … check the deadbolt lock on your main room door. When locked from the inside you should not be able to gain access with a keycard from the outside. The four rooms we were in did not work properly. When the deadbolt was locked the keycard still opened the door, meaning housekeeping, maintenance anyone with a keycard can enter any time. Met with Vladimir Rodriguez (Level Manager) “wow” was his response. He was not aware and admitted that is not how it should be. This is definitely not safe. During our stay they changed two of the locks but delayed and stalled any attempts at fixing the others. I suspect this is a resort wide issue. We tried multiple times to get them to fix it but in the end they just said that’s how it is. Check your doors! We stayed in two 2-bedroom level suites.

The food was not up to par. some days the food did not appetizing. We wish they were more flexible on what restaurant to go to any night. We buffets get old real fast.

The resort itself was very nice. The water park is great for the kids. They do a great job entertaining the kids. The service and food are horrible. Our concierge Anny did a great job. She was very fast to fix problems we had. Our AC broke down two times, our shower head fell off while my wife was showering, the balcony door didn’t have a lock on it, the welcome chocolate was covered in bugs,and our tv didn’t work for the first two days.

Like most were breakfast or lunch with the sea views. Good cocktails. Bar next to mexican restaurant was thd best. No hassle walking on the beach, relaxed atmosphere and kids are having lots to do. Massive bed. What i did not like most were activities ie not on time, too easy. Used gym instead. Repetitive shows at night. Concierge service non existent. Better go to reception to get what you need.

The stuff was friendly and kind. The resort and the beach area was very beautiful. Anny Liriano was great, she was on line 24/7 with helping any questions we have and trying to make sure we feel goog.
The only problem is theirs restaurants reservation policy. I waited one hour to be told there is nothing available. So for 9 days we were able to get just 2 dinner reservations. Wheb yoy go to the restaurant you see plenty of open tables but they are not going to sit you wirh some excuses. Just be ready to eat only un the buffet.

Definitely a great resort. More than what we expected. Friendly, safe and a variety of fun activities and events each day. Food overall was good and a wide variety to choose from.We would definitely recommend to family and friends.

Highly recommend this hotel. My trip was entirely spent at the hotel and i had lots to do and achieved the goal of my vacation, which was to relax and not stress about anything. Loved the mercado buffet for most of my meals. The other 2 restaurants i tried were also good but the Mercado restaurant was my favorite. Room was spacious and clean and the service was impeccable. Loved the service i received. It was the best service I've ever had. The grounds were also very beautiful

The property itself is beautifull, its so exotic with all the trees, its just beautifull no matter day or night! The resort is big, but you can still walk it, from the lobby to the beach its about a 10 minute walk! Infortunatelly there are some downsides, most of the staff is nice and friendly, but I've never heard so many No's in a hotel before, it feels lile they just don't want to work and interact with people! Also if you need a reservation for one of the restaurants good luck, we were a group of ten people and all of us had to try to make reservations at different restaurants and most of the time it was a big hustle! On our last day I asked someone to come and help us with the luggage, because we were two girls with pretty heavy suitcases and our room was quite a walk from the lobby, I called earlier to see if they offered that service, the answer was yes of course, you will have someone there at the time you requested, then when I saw how things were going I decided to make sure they got my request and the guy at the front desk said no we don't have it, but I'll send someone right away! Suffice it to say, we had to wheel our very heavy luggage all the way to the lobby in the hottest day of our stay there! Its just very disappointing! Its the little things that can change the outcome of our opinion of a resort, that is so beautiful!

Overall, the experience was ok. Check in was a bit of a cluster. Signage throughout the property was lackluster, and parts of the pool seemed like they haven’t been upkept

Wonderful resort with beautiful grounds and greenery, the staff goes far and beyond to make the traveler feel comfortable and at home , the only thing I would say negatively is that they need to update the rooms a little more .

We advised the hotel 6 months ago that we would be 13 people and they were not prepared for us. The dining area never had place to accommodate all of us at the same time. I would not go back there.

That staff was horrible and unhelpful. The restaurants were booked every night. We were told that all restaurants were booked even if we booked three days in advance. The bar service was terrible and unfriendly. Worst experience I have ever had

The hotel is beautiful and the amenities are good. We loved the night life and activities. Also the beach, the pool and the kids areas were great. The staff were attentive. The service provided by Anny Liriano was very good. She attend to our requests and questions quickly. What we do not love was the food. We did not find many options in the buffet, also the food was cold anywhere and anytime. The restaurants were very simple and limited in their options but definitely better than the buffet.

The property is very nice. The food is absolutely great! The downside is that english is barely spoken and there is no direction given for meals or events. The restaurants have to be booked by your concierge...which may or may not respond to you. A lot of unhappy people in the lobby at all times. I would not go again.

Hotel has an upgrade option of “level up” since we didn’t purchase the upgrade the resort/ staff made us feel belittled . We were not able to use certain transportation , had limited bars/ drink options and other resort amenities. The staff tried to sale more options on us for other Meliá resorts…they said they were resquired to sale/ make appointments … we explained we were not interested and would never return back to a melia resort . The beach was not fun either … every second there was someone trying to force us to use there activity or service . A couple of men came with animals and took pictures … we weren’t aware of the price but they wouldn’t leave until we paid . They said “ your Americans don’t be cheap” … it’s very unsafe and uncomfortable to be in that situation. I asked for wash clothes several times and a sign so no one would come in my room - never received it . The drinks were not good . Especially at the swim up bar ….we enjoyed the buffet options , thankfully it was an option since all the reservations were booked

The property is beautiful and well kept. The food options were good. I had a terrible experience checking in waiting over an hour. Waited in line for another hour to make dinner reservations! They have to figure a better system so guests don’t waste so much time planning activities. Guests should not be able to save more than two chairs at the pool or the beach. There were never any lounge chairs because people would save them early in the morning for their entire big group and not show up till later in the day. Maybe limit the use of chairs to two hours.

Really bad experience. Food was REALLY bad and low quality. The service wasn't good at all. Big problem with the ability to register to restaurants and when you need assistance no one is there to help.
