The fan is on with the light but the fan make a terrible noise so we had to wash us in the dark. The bed is extremely uncomfortable. The base of the bed is very noisy.

This property allowed you to feel at home. The common areas were perfect and it let us disconnect. We also saw black bears and mule deer without leaving the property.

Maita was very welcoming and provided a bit of history of the Lodge and area.

Very little hot water, not enough for two showers. Very little variety at breakfast.

The property is located at the end of a 3 km gravel road, Elk Road, which in some sections, especially the first 2 kms, is in very poor condition with deep potholes. May be other reviews have already noted that. My GPS did indicate I would be on an unpaved road but I did not think it would be a few kms. I have driven on unpaved roads but this was not what I had accepted. It's not a question of driving an SUV or a sedan on the road, and I am simply saying that if one were to stay for a few days at the property than that might call for some uncomfortable driving. All in all I would be reluctant to return to the property because of the condition of the road.

Clean and very quite place. It’s ideal for a couple and family. Breakfast was great. Rooms are simple and clean. It’s 10 minutes to get here from hwy 1.

The lodge needs some care and attention. The front is full of weeds and the Christmas decorations are still up. We were asked to pay extra at check in due to a new “tax”. We had already paid in full up front so declined. The rooms were very basic but clean. Nice to have a dining space but it needs to be monitored (tables wiped, dishes removed). The continental breakfast was short on items-every day of our 3 day stay. Day 2 no coffee, orange juice, fruit or yogurt by 8:00 am. I asked for items to be replenished for other guests.

We liked the remoteness and seclusion of the location. It was also very scenic.

Very quiet and relaxing. The gravel road wS only a few km long but felt inconvenient when you quickly wanted to run back into town. Also no tvs in the rooms which just to relax would have been nice.

Very basic amenities. Small rooms, comfy beds, outdated decor. Pleasant staff. Breakfast had good selection. Rooms were warm but the other parts of the building were freezing.

Nice view and location in natural environment. Some things should be mentioned in the property description:Requirement to take off shoes inside. Not all people are comfortable walking barefoot. The last 2 miles of access road is dirt and gravel. Sport bikes and sport cars may have damage. There's a total lack of any food options. Restaurants are 3 miles away, you can't cook anywhere on site, and breakfast is minimal at best. There's no air conditioning in the room. Could be a real problem in hot season. And cleanliness was sub par, as we found hair in the bath tub.Lots of potential for this place, but as it is it's very disappointing. We won't be back.
