We had a lovely stay at The Study. Our room was quiet, comfortable, and clean. Our only recommendation would be to make breakfast reservations at Heirloom rather than dropping in, as we had to wait on Saturday AM for a table.

This is a fine hotel, but I would recommend the Graduate next door over it. The advantage of this hotel is the desk in the room, but the graduate has nicer rooms, including the bathroom, refrigerators, more character and better common spaces. Rooms here are worn in places.

Lovely setting amidst Yale U buildings. Pretty hotel. Nice rooms. Bed was a little lumpy. But it had feather pillows and a nice linen comforter, which saved the day. Rooms had spacious desk to do work and great lounge chair. Good restaurant and bar in hotel and cute restaurants on the block.

The room was adequate but on the small side. The front desk staff was very accommodating and helpful. The hotel restaurant served a huge breakfast.

Loved this place! It was the closest to Toad’s (7min walk) and surprisingly the cheapest option. It was gorgeous in the lobby and the people were kind. Our room was great too.

Clean and quiet property. My biggest gripe: Rooms need a fridge and microwave. That should be a minimum requirement for any hotel room. The staff was absolutely lovely and accommodating. Comfortable but small rooms. The mattress slept very very well. Don’t depend on street parking. Use their valet.

The staff was so helpful in getting some tickets printed out for us. Also morning coffee in the lobby is a treat, and we met some interesting people while just sitting.

The attached restaurant is this property's Achilles heel. Terrible. Great drinks but bad service.

This is a lovely hotel with a youthful (aka college) vibe. Very cool lobby and a wonderful restaurant. While the room wasn’t big, it was very comfortable. The only complaint I have is the lack of power outlets right at the bed and lack of spaces in the bathroom to put toiletries. But, I’d stay there again!

This is a simple nice hotel with a really good restaurant. The area is fun, right next to Yale and the clientele is an interesting mix of academics, students and locals.

Great place. Clean and nice. I think they can provide an ice machine though. They did give he ice every time I requested it but you have to either call or go down to the reception desk. Overall was very nice.

Staff was great, rooms clean, bar nice. Added rollaway per my request without issue.

Overrated and overpriced. The walls are paper thin so you can hear your neighbor’s TV for hours. Both mattresses in our room were lumpy and sagged noticeably on one side, where people sit on them to get into bed or roll off them when waking up. So saggy that we actually rolled to that side when lying flat in the center of the mattress. I travel 100+ days a year, and these were the worst mattresses I can ever remember. l

The hotel (part of a chain) has a stylish modern decor. The lobby, where coffee is available all day near a library of interesting books, is a popular, quiet place for guests to relax, work or read. The front desk staff are very friendly, efficient and accommodating, as are the valet parking attendants. The hotel has its own restaurant (breakfast was expensive and not great) but there are other restaurants and popular chains a walk away. We would gladly stay at the hotel again. However, we were placed on the second floor in a room facing the back with a terrible "view" -- looking out on a concrete roof with metal air vents and other apparatuses. Be sure to request a room on a high floor.

The Study is really well located in the heart of Yale and surrounding cafes and shops. The room was very spacious and comfortable. My only complaint was how expensive the room was for a Sunday night…

I had a lovely stay as this beautiful small hotel. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. The room was well designed and so pleasant. Everyone was very kind to my little granddaughter, staying there with her parents, but who spent a lot of time in my room too. We had a wonderful family dinner the one night we were there -- great food, great service. Wonderful stay.

The Study is a great spot to stay and be close to Yale University. Stylish, clean, modern, slightly minimalistic rooms. Helpful and friendly staff. Beautiful aesthetics in the lobby and common areas. I didn’t get to try the restaurant or room service, so can’t comment on that, but the whole vibe of the place was great. A 5-10 minute walk to everywhere I needed to get to on campus and local shopping, while completely avoiding some of the less savory parts of New Haven.
As a single traveler who needed to be close to campus for a conference, The Study fit my needs perfectly. I think it’d be good for a couple, as well. Not so sure if I’d recommend it for a family of 3 or more— at least the room I was in was a bit on the small size.
Overall, an excellent choice at a good price point.
