First of all the room was clean and nice. No ice machine, had to go to another hotel to check in, outside of hotel was in bad shape. For the price, it was what you pay for.

For just needing a place to lay our head and sleep after a long day in the Everglades it was perfect. Very clean, fairly updated

Too spartan for me, maybe if I was in College it would have been okay.

Pros
- Pretty location near the waterside - watch out for alligators!
- Clean and reasonably comfortable.
- Recently modernised bathroom and shower.
- Quiet.
- Easy parking
- Pleasant town with quite a lot to do.
- Friendly and helpful reception staff.
- Some good restaurants.
Cons
- Check-in was a car journey away, which was inconvenient, especially as this was not clear from the information on Hotels.com.
- The property could not be secured; door to balcony could not be locked.
- Some of restaurants in Everglades City not walkable as the town sprawls so much.
- Very noisy aircon.

Rooms are nice and some under renovation. The smell inside was very strong and very damp. Beds & couches were comfy. Shower was fine. The room we stayed in needs new filters and/or a dehumidifier. The floor was coming up in places. Overall, it was a decent halfway point to stop and sleep, I’d probably go somewhere else next time though.

overall nice place, but we were redirected to another hotel because there was an electrical issue at The Captains Table, the place we stayed had pretty thin walls, heard the guy beside us snoring all night

Check in was at another location which was odd. Clean and being renovated but still needed a few updates. Front desk staff is great! I think some units have permanent residents.

Odd set up. You have to go to another hotel property to pick up keys. They also dont have ice on the property. The room looks newly remodeled. The building itself needs some work. The stairs to the second floor were slippery and steep. It was quiet and the room was comfortable once we found everything.

It wasn’t the room I booked. It only slept 4 and I booked a suite that was supposed to sleep 5 with a couch. Chairs were uncomfortable fan didn’t work had to call for more towels

All very nice room clean and comfortable, check in bit unusual, pool and garden lovely.

This is an older facility but much loved - you can tell they are keeping up with maintenance. It was really nice to have the screened in porch.
The pool was very nice too.

Appears that the property is under renovation. The room however was nicely renovated however not to sure about the safety of the balcony. There was no notification of having to pick up a room key 6 blocks away from the property. Did not like that the room did not have an interior safety lock or chain and that the hallway door was propped open to the outside.
Overall the room was quiet and clean and the checkin staff were pleasant.

Staff were friendly, property was dated but very clean. We enjoyed our overnight stay.

It was nicely located, clean and quiet. But...points deducted for a toilet that kept running unless you messed with the tank.

The check in process went well. Arriving to the hotel I found difficult, steep steps with a wobbley handrail. It was January and colder weather. There is no heat in the room and the windows are very old and leak air. There was no blanket on the bed, just a sheet. I drove back to check in and was able to get a blanket and confirmed with the staff that there was no heater in the room. The toilet runs. The kitchenette has no kitchen items like plates, silverwear or bowls. It's just a sink, microwave and small refrigerator. The refrigerator has one shelf in it when there was to be other shelves and a bottom drawer. The hotel is old and needs to be refurbished. In addition it is on the corner of the main road and with windows that are old, there is a lot of street noise and nothing to protect from it. The worst part though are the treacherous steps to the second floor.

Great place to sleep. Kinda wish i could of stayed a bit longer. My room 216 had a lovely view of the sun set... just wasn't a great night for it. 2 thumbs up.

They tried to update the rooms but it could have been nicer. The way you get to the hotel also doesn’t look very inviting. We were glad we only stayed for one night. In general the area seems very old and not a lot of choices to stay. We saw lots of motels. Surely no luxury and not a resort.

The ceiling fan did not work. Very noisy in mornings with cleaning staff coming in and out of of porch to get supplies .

The price is very reasonable, but check-in is at another property half a mile away. Perhaps a message in advance to say so would have been handy…on arrival the entrance area of the property seems derelict though there’s a notice directing to the Ivey House back up the road. Had we arrived after dark, elderly guests (like us) could have found that more alarming. The room was clean and the beds comfortable, but the air conditioning unit was so noisy we had to turn it off completely and open a window…a move the local insects welcomed. We couldn’t work out how to quieten in with the remote, even after downloading the manual. Access to the room was via a quite steep outside staircase…a bit tough with a suitcase. The check-in staff at the Ivey House were friendly and helpful and pointed us to an excellent restaurant nearby.

The exterior of the hotel was run down and not as pictured in the listing. Check in was at a separate property and there was no lobby or staff where we stayed. The inside of the room has been renovated and was clean. Not worth the price we paid.

Was an unexpected surprise. Newly renovated. Clean rooms. Staf was nice. Had to drive a few minutes to check on at another hotel then drive back then drive the key over the next day at checkout. I think it’s because the lobby was being renovated. No worries.

The room was spacious with a kitchen nook, porch completely enclosed with netting and a balcony. Newly renovated, the room was in very nice condition with new mattress that was firm but comfortable with a soft top. The new desk chair was really nice quality and the new fridge was a bit bigger than most that I see in motels.
Their housekeeper must have had some kind of a lapse with our room forgetting to clean the toilet and leave towels or enough toilet paper but I called the office and they were surprised at the oversight and came with towels and bathmat. I forgot to ask for toilet paper but we managed. The office was very helpful about where to go to see the Everglades and a little of the wildlife for free as we had a tight budget. They give every guest a map of the area with attractions

Great location for west everglades. Reasonable rates. The property is old, but it has everything you need.

When I first pulled up it looked very dilapidated on the exterior, the room itself was sorta clean, the floor was still wet from mopping but still had long hairs on the floor so I took a bath towel and dried and wiped up the hair. We called in advance to ask if the room was ready and was told it was, it was Not, we waited an additional 1/2 hr. It was raining and they have No gutters at the entrance to the stairs to the 2nd floor, so I was soaking wet by the time I had my stuff up to the room. To top off the visit at 8am one of the housekeepers literally opened our locked door to look inside and it woke me up, I looked her directly in the eyes from the bed I was still laying in. Check out is not till 11am I will Not be staying here ever again. Thought I'd give it a try since I come down here often, Wrong Choice!

Never stayed. Room wasnt ready @ 3:55. Trash bags lined the hallway on my walk to room i was supposed to stay in. Theres "shabby chic" but it seemed to me that was just plain shabby

hotel looked run-down but the inside was fantastic. The city shuts down after dark, not much to do. Not a lot of places to fish if you don't have a boat. My tv remote wasn't working but the office is 6 blocks away, along with the ice machine, so I made do. Had to watch everything with closed caption setting on. Loud dump trucks early A.M.; not terrible cause you go to bed by 9

Overall it was nice experience. Few maintenance issues, like the outside door net was broken. The body wash was unavailable.

I typically camp when I come down to the area but opted for a quick night in a hotel and The bed was super comfy! Very clean room. The balcony, while overlooking a parking lot-the sunrise colors are amazing! Would definitely stay here again. My only suggestions would be soap in the bathroom, I improvised and used the Dawn from the kitchen sink area & double checking fridges as food was left from previous guest (didn’t smell or anything so must not have been old).

Since the weather was not great we didn’t stay the night and moved onto Miami. The hotel was nice and reception was very helpful with providing all required information to make our stay comfortable but they are located bit further away from the rooms.

The staff was great. Rooms are being renovated which looks great. Can’t wait to come back.

There was no place to hang clothes. There were no hooks. No screens on the windows. The room was very humid. The outlet in the bathroom where the hairdryer is connected has no electricity to it. No shade or curtain on bathroom window & neither was the window frosted. A mirror above the sink would have been nice. No chain on door. The room was clean. No tub, shower only. No elevator. The check-in desk is 0.7 miles from the hotel. The desk clerks were helpful.

Very clean and pleasant in the room but the exterior was in disrepair. Loved the balcony for sunrise views. Having to check in at another location was frustrating with not knowing our way around. Some plumbing issues and shower was lukewarm.Overall, we enjoyed our time and would come back again.

Check in is at another hotel down the road. They were insistent on using a card vs cash, but said cash could be done and just "would be a HUGE pain." Staff was polite. The cleaning crew could do better, there was mold on the A/C unit. The place looks like its seen its share of storms and could use a little work, but overall is a great value with the price in mind.
