Nestled in Nanaimo, this lovely cottage for $220 per night is a fantastic choice for your next vacation. This quaint, rustic cottage is located in the community of Cedar, just south of Nanaimo, on an accessible, yet secluded acreage. It is walking distance to the beach and boat launch and amazing trails, yet less than 15 minutes from downtown Nanaimo, as well as both ferry terminals and the airport. The quiet yard is surrounded by beautiful old maple, walnut, and fruit trees and overlooks the horse pasture and pond. It is the perfect place to enjoy a peaceful morning cup of coffee or an evening sunset. An attached games room includes ping-pong, air hockey and foosball tables, as well as a dart board, for all to enjoy and entertain a family. Kids big and small, young or old will love it. The cottage boasts a cozy master bedroom on the main floor, situated off the main living area, and next to the bathroom. Upstairs is split in the middle with two additional attic-style bedrooms. A double futon is available in the living room, as well as a single sized roll out cot, both with with supplied linens for additional guests. Also provided is a Graco pack and play, playpen for your little one. This 100+ year old original farmhouse has been freshly renovated, keeping its original rustic charm. We love it and think you will too! $50 cleaning fee for couple ($25/guest thereafter)

We had the best girls weekend. Enjoyed the cozy house, paying board games and watching the horse in the paddock. We cannot wait to come back again. Perfect space for friends and families.

We had a very pleasant stay. The hosts set us up very well and made the place feel just perfect for a Christmas / New Years visit. The front porch provided much needed space, and the kitchen met all our needs. The games room was a highlight, though chilly at this time of year to spend much time in. Perhaps adding a couple of heaters would help. The laundry facilities were helpful and very appreciated. I was caught off guard a bit by the steep stairs to the 2nd floor. I found it challenging, though that's where the kids slept so I was okay. One thing that would help would be multi-plug outlet extenders, as in this old property, we struggled sometimes to find a place to plug our devices in (minor problem). The advertisement said "minutes from the beach", For some reason, I thought that meant walking distance - that was a slight disappointment for me. However, the Cable Bay 2KM trail was a huge highlight and could be commented on in your advertisement. Thanks for everything! We truly had a wonderful stay and our kids are still talking about "the cottage" now that we are back home.

Really beautiful cottage that’s perfect for families or groups. Kitchen is really well stocked, loads of games to keep everyone entertained and a full games room and bbq as well. As some other reviews have mentioned the stairs are a little steep (but absolutely fine as long as you’re prepared for that). Amazing hosts who decorated the house for Christmas - we were all really sad to leave!

My friends and I loved the cottage! Our expectations were absolutely exceeded. When we arrived we all felt as if we were the French country side. The space was so clean and had everything we could possibly need from games and movies to all the kitchen appliances. The property was lush and we loved getting greeting by friendly animals when we arrived. Lacy was very sweet and easy to communicate with. We all agreed we would love to stay there again!

BBQ was awesome, enjoyed the old vibe and the scenic suggestions listed on the chalk board. Games room was a hit but my daughter got stung Wasps came in thru the floor boards (open to outside) Main bedroom: needs a better frame or maybe remove box spring?? Bed was way to squeaky, hubby moved to the couch in order to get sleep. The bed would be fine for 1 person though.

The games room was fun for everyone, the house was very quaint and unique inside. We loved the cozy feel of this character home. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you need from appliances, spices, condiments and a grill. The stairs are steep so be careful but very cute upstairs and comfortable beds. We loved our stay at the cottage, everyone enjoyed the games room. We found the heat in the upstairs room a bit hard to handle at times. The property is idea for people who want some peace and quiet. There is no public transport close by so you definitely need your own vehicle.

Quiet setting on beautiful country property Close drive to anywhere. Stairs are very steep which adds to the unique 100 year old home, great stairs for the young. Everything you need was supplied and well stocked. Would have liked curtins on the windows but only to help block the sun early in the mornings. Very clean and the game room was a bounce. Would be back with a younger group...stairs are a challenge for older knees. Hosts made sure everything you might need was supplied! Thank you for the wonderful stay.

We had a great stay at this property, sufficient beds for everyone. The house was very clean and the kitchen was extremely well stocked, especially loved the black stone grill. Things got a bit warm in the upstairs bedrooms where the air conditioning did not reach. Only improvement would be to add screens to the upstairs windows so opening them doesn’t let all the mosquitoes in!

This cottage is in a quiet country location that is close to some of the hikes south of Nanaimo. The property had everything our family needed for our 3 day stay. The kids spent a lot of time in the game room. One caution: upstairs bedrooms have very steep stairs to access them. We really liked the location and the property.

This is such a fantastic place to stay. Lots to do for families at the property. Games room is excellent. Lots of nearby hikes. Short drive to ferry terminal and the Nanaimo area. Host is very accommodating. Glad we stayed at this property.

This place is a spectacular spot to getaway. Ditch city life and check out this cute cottage. Its so homey and tasteful. I love how this host supports their community in little ways. Idyllic cottage. So quiet. Well appointed kitchen—everything you could possibly need has been provided including dishwasher and even items to picnic with. Owners extremely lovely—very responsive on Vrbo and just very nice honest people. Great layout for us—my mum has mobility issues so it was perfect to have the downstairs bedroom. Upstairs is a bedroom with two single beds that leads into another bedroom (no door in between, so probably handy if you have kids) with a double bed. Very comfortable. Laundry in the basement (so two sets of steep stairs but no problem for us). Beautiful horse paddock on property and two very happy friendly Great Danes. We wanted to stay longer :)

We stayed with a group of 8 adults for the May long weekend. The space was perfect for activities, we played a bunch of board games, hosted a murder mystery party and also had the bonus of enjoying the games room! The space was super clean and well put together, but there were lots of spiders around (to be expected in an older space) and we had no issue with that. The kitchen was incredibly well stoked for feeding such a large group and we loved how there was the common area, games room, kitchen and outdoor space to help spread the group out when needed. The only downside to the space was having one washroom which got a little hectic at times but once we communicated showers and such it got much better. The stairs up to the loft are also quite steep, again, to be expected in an older home, so accessibility may be challenging for some but there were still plenty of options for ground floor sleeping instead. All in all, an absolutely wonderful getaway and we can't wait to come back someday!

Loved loved this little cottage. We were very busy with family so didn’t get to enjoy it as much as we would have liked, but it is very nice! Was very happy to see it had an AC unit ( for BC this is unusual but was delighted as it was warm while we were there), all amenities and stocked with all cookware and supplies. Upstairs had the 2 other rooms and the games room was great. Loved the owners dog would come and visit and they have a horse in the front pasture which you can see from the back window when she wanders down. Great little place.

Beautiful spot! The weather was perfect so we spent lots of time outside in the sunshine listening to the birds and enjoying the quiet property. The house is so adorable and cozy! We loved eveyrthing. Too many nice little touches to list! Thank you for making our trip easy and so enjoyable! The games toom is such a nice, fun touch. Will reccomend and will come again!

We had a great time. The farmhouse/cottage was cute and clean and met all of our needs. We were though quite taken back by the narrowness and how steep the stairwell was between the first and second floors.

The farmhouse was absolutely lovely! It was just what we needed to relax and enjoy some time away. All the little details and decor were carefully thought out. It seemed like it had everything we needed for cooking. The beds and couches were comfortable. It was so relaxing and we loved staying there! If you are going in winter, you may want to remember to bring slippers with you.

The cottage is a wonderful space from which to enjoy many family-friendly hikes! Lacy greeted us with a warm welcome, had extra heaters for us, and we so enjoyed all the games and books! A cozy, comfortable, and scenic stay. We will definitely be planning a return visit.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The place has amazing charm, and Lacy has done a fantastic job making the cottage cozy and functional. The beds were extremely comfortable. There’s an amazing flattop grill that we made every meal on, and the cottage provides a wide variety of spices for those that like to cook. The games room was the perfect place to spend the evening. Such a lovely, peaceful setting! When we come back to the Island, we will look No for there than this place.

We had the honour of being the first guests in the cottage. It was charming, beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The hosts went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed and were always available to answer questions or give recommendations. We were only a party of two, but the cottage is set up for a larger group with multiple bedrooms and a separate game’s room with options for all ages. Our stay at the cottage was the highlight of our trip and we hope to return in the future.
