Please keep in mind that due to international banking, this can sometimes take up to 14-days to be removed on your statement. Getting to the property: We do not offer shuttle service from the airport. Guests can take a cab or rental car from the airport. If taking a cab, you can grab one from outside of the airport and expect a 15-minute drive as well as a $36 fare /1-2 people and $16.50 each additional person. We do not recommend that guests need a car as they are within walking distance to a majority of the island's attractions. This is not a VRBO. This is a hotel room in a run down motel. Other than the ladies in the kitchen, the staff are rude. They can barely look up from their computer to acknowledge you let alone say good morning/have a nice day. The bartender was a complete jerk. The ‘room’ itself is dated and dirty. Cleaning staff refused to supply extra towels, any other VRBO would provide extra towels for their guests upon request. The room was not cleaned properly by staff. We had to strip our own bed to ensure we received clean sheets. Linen is stained and needs replacing. Coffee tables/end tables not wiped down. Cleaning lady unplugged ‘mini’ fridge while cleaning, leaving us with no choice but to throw out its contents. No hot water for showers after returning from the beach. Hair and dirt in shower that we had to remove as water would not drain. Hot tub out of commission all week with no date of repair. Golf cart service to beach inconsistent depending on the day. BJ was great but admitted he was bored during the day. Hotel could have him rake garbage on the beach because there is lot, especially on the public access beach, watch where you step. Beach chairs are broken and water sporting equipment is old and needs replacing. Umbrellas are secured in place and you are unable to move them if you want a bit more privacy away from everyone, you sit where they put you. Go to the beach early so you can get front row and a view of the ocean. Sit on the left hand side of the beach facing the ocean because the peddlers come everyday and set up their tent in front of everyone on the right hand side of the beach, obstructing everyone’s view. Twice during our stay, commissioned workers from tour companies had heated arguments yelling and screaming at each other while on the beach. At one point, one of them pulled a knife and threatened the other. BJ said it was only a steak knife, but still not something you would expect while trying to vacation. Proper security at a nicer resort would not allow this to occur. Spend a bit more money and just rent elsewhere to ensure a great experience. West Indies resort was around the same price for some of their VRBO’s and that experience was far superior to this dive.

Let me start by saying that Turks and Caicos is incredible and is our new favorite place to travel to! We stayed at the Ports of Call resort and had a rough experience. The positives are the staff was super friendly, and the location was perfect. Unfortunately, we started noticing bug bites after waking up in the morning, and by the 3rd morning had around 40-45 bug bites and got concerned about bed bugs. I pulled off the sheets/mattress cover and found a live red bug, and a blood spot where a bed bug was likely smashed. All of my bites were consistent with bed bugs, with 1-3 bites in a line in multiple places. We notified the front desk and they moved us to a new room in a separate building later that night. After we moved to the new room, I never received another bug bite for the last 2 nights of our stay. We elevated this to management and they were apologetic, gave us an 81 dollar credit for the $40 in laundry they had charged us and incidentals, and promised to look into it. For the last several weeks the management were difficult to work with. They allowed our previous room to be booked after us, and 5 days after we had the incident, they had Orkin come out and do an inspection. They provided a report from Orkin that they found no bed bugs. Interestingly, that report mentioned that “It is therefore possible that bedbug activity exists though not discernible at the time of inspection.” Management continued to discount our story even though we provided all this data and a picture of the live bug. They claimed it was a beetle, and that all of my bites were from no-see-ums. I contacted a local company who deals with bed bugs and explained our experience. They agreed that all these facts indicated bed bugs and even noted that a beetle would be very unlikely to be found under the sheets on a mattress. Unfortunately, it made our trip very stressful, and we had to purchase treatment kits for our clothes/luggage. The way management handled this was very disappointing. I imagine they will respond to this review and claim there were no bugs based on Orkin’s report and that they were just no-see-um bites. This doesn’t line up based on how the bites stopped when we moved rooms. No-see-ums also don’t bite in a line, they bite in clusters. They continued to deny any possibility of bed bugs and that we were clearly wrong. I’ll let you decide based on the information provided, but for us, we will not stay there again.

This was the smoothest stay ever! They checked us in in less than 10 minutes, took our bags to our room and we were at the beach after arriving in less than 30 minutes. Everything g is within walking distance so there was no need for a car. Will definitely book again. Best mother/daughter vacation ever!

My partner and I truly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It was a long journey to get there, as we didn't get our PCR results back in time and had to cancel our flight. The host kindly and promptly responded back giving advice and feedback about the travel process. Because of this, we were able to make it on our trip! The staff is also very friendly, and the hotel is near a lot of great restaurants. I would definitely recommend!
