Situated in James Island, this lovely house for $1,170 per night is a great choice for your next break. The City of Folly Beach has scheduled beach renourishment for this spring. The project will start at the West end of the island at the county park progressing towards the pier in blocks. The completion is slated for August. While this is welcomed news given the recent erosion from storms and high tides, we realize the potential for disruption based on the project’s timing. We are committed to ensuring your vacation experience remains enjoyable. While most of the beach will remain publicly accessible during the construction, there is a possibility that certain sections of the beach, typically about 500 feet at a time, may be temporarily closed off. The active work area moves every 5 to 7 days on average. Due to so many external factors, we have no way to predict an accurate timeline for when the project will be at any given location. However, if we anticipate in advance that the project may affect your stay, we will be reaching out to you. In the small chance the project directly affects your beachfront vacation, we will work closely with you to discuss options. Stay @ Pride and Joy! Welcome to your spacious oceanfront retreat at 1603 E Ashley Ave. This delightful home features 5 bedrooms and 3 full bathrooms, accommodating up to 12 guests comfortably. Perfectly suited for large family vacations, this property offers ample gathering space and a memorable coastal experience. As you approach 1603 E Ashley Ave, known as "Pride and Joy," you'll be greeted by a grand staircase leading to the raised entrance. Stepping inside, the open floor plan immediately draws your gaze toward the vast Atlantic Ocean. The kitchen is both spacious and inviting, complete with a breakfast bar for enjoying a quick bite before heading to the beach. Continue through to the dining area, and from there, you'll find the cozy living room furnished with comfortable modern couches. The tasteful coastal decor, custom fixtures, floor-to-ceiling windows and doors envelop you in a serene "Island Time" ambiance. Adjacent to the living room, you'll discover the expansive screened-in porch, offering rocking chairs where you can relax while watching surfers catch waves along the beach. Step out of the screened porch onto the sundeck, and just a few steps away, you'll access your private path to the beach. The first floor of Pride and Joy accommodates four of the five bedrooms, with two on each side connected by convenient Jack and Jill bathrooms. Each of the four bedrooms downstairs has its own private toilet & sink with a shared tub/shower combo in between. The bedrooms are thoughtfully adorned with subtle pops of color, reminiscent of the surrounding coastal beauty. Head upstairs to the final bedroom where you'll find a king bed and three twin beds, all accompanied by stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean. The en-suite bathroom boasts a spacious walk-in shower, a bathtub for soaking, and double vanity sinks. Nestled within walking distance of the eastern tip of Folly Beach, 1603 E Ashley Ave offers an enchanting escape. This pristine area boasts a less crowded beach, fascinating driftwood trees, and abundant shelling opportunities. Don't miss the breathtaking views of the Morris Island Lighthouse, whether on a clear day or under cloudy skies - it's a sight to behold. 1603 E Ashley Ave was lovingly restored and infused with plenty of care and attention. And, if you have a well-behaved dog, feel free to bring them along to enjoy all that Folly Beach has to offer (unfortunately, no cats are allowed, sorry!). This was the perfect place for our family to stay for a local family reunion. We had multiple families stay here. We loved the open floor plan and that everyone was able to have a queen bed or larger. The house was clean. The sunrise each morning was gorgeous. Breakfast or coffee on the screen porch or in the livingroom looking out the windows and watching the dolphins even in January was magical. We are from the beach, but this was right on the ocean. The water comes right up to the rocks at high tide. The house was an unexpected experience of its own on this trip. The hosts were awesome! Great with communicating. A couple of days before our trip, they called an voluntarily gave us some of our money back because the beach access had been washed away in a storm earlier in the week. The access was not able to be rebuilt by the time we stayed. But they communicated right away and made it right. The atmosphere of the island is very inclusive and small town. And there is a light house you can walk to at the end of the street. We very much loved our stay at this house and would love to stay again soon.

This is a great house for accommodating a large group. We ended up having only 7 guests due to flight cancellations from snow storm. The living area is large and comfortable. The porch is great but it was COLD when we were there so didn't get to enjoy it. The house needs a little TLC- 2 broken chairs at kitchen table, corroded batteries in upstairs heat/ac remote. I realize with any house, there is always something needing to be done. The appliances worked very well. Kitchen was well stocked with utensils. The property management staff were friendly and informative. We thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend at Pride and Joy on Folly. Thanks!

My family and friends stayed here for 6 nights, and it was magical. Plenty of space, great layout for us, and the ocean is RIGHT THERE when you look outside. I loved how at high tide, the water comes right up to the bottom of the steps. Very special place ❤️

This house was absolutely perfect for our family. We had a group of 11 people and a wide range of ages. The location was perfect for all of us, with the beach access being key for the four boys (6, 8, 10, 12) to play whenever they wanted to. If we had been in downtown Charleston, we would have definitely missed this easy access to a beautifully serene place to play and witness some of the most amazing sunrises and sunsets. It was an easy 25-minute drive into Charleston for any activity we wanted. The only thing I would caution is you have to climb a rather tall staircase to access the house, so keep this in mind if you have anyone in your party with limited mobility. My in-laws were able to (slowly) navigate the stairs, but it was a little intimidating at first. It was a perfect location and we'd love to go back some day!

We had a great short trip to Pride and Joy. The fridge showed some heavy usage with duct tape but worked great. The microwave again had a touch of rust but worked great. The location and set up was wonderful and could have accommodated a larger group than we had. We had a great quick trip to the area.

The wide screened porch was our favorite spot to sit both day and night. At high tide it was an exciting view of the ocean. We had a front row seat for Hurricane Larry which was passing by (way out in the ocean) and the huge swells and waves. Screens do need replacing. We loved the large top floor master suite with large bathroom and a little observation deck for two. There are 3 extra single beds up there which would work for a family. Nice kitchen, living areas and big dining table seats 8. Several more stools at kitchen counter height for more seating. House is near the end of Ashley Ave., a quiet spot.

A relaxing fun time with family on the beachfront! This rental was great for the little kids to be just steps from the beach! Inside of house was decorated very nice, although lacking in kitchen and cooking supplies. The exterior is in need of repair in places. House would really be fabulous if given a little more TLC!

This house has an ideal location! The interior was been redone with plenty of space for a few families to split up the house. The views are amazing! Lots of parking and paved play area for bikes and scooters under the house. The main living area is all open with bedrooms off to each side. Lots of space to stretch out. We mostly stayed on the covered porch. Highly recommend for a laid back, no frills vacation.
