Check in was great. Some corners of the room aren’t totally clean but mostly great.

Room was very clean and the bed was almost perfect for softness. On a scale of 1 to 5 for firmness with 1 being really hard and 5 being super soft this was about a 3 or 3.5. Several areas were being renovated which we were there but the crews didnt start until mid morning so our sleep wasn't interrupted as were working late nights and sleeping in in the morning. The breakfast are was one of the areas under renovation so breakfast was being served in the lobby but they still had a good selection of hot and cold food and enough tables for everyone. We will be return to Virginia Beach soon for work and most likely be staying here again

Room curtain wouldn't open, refrigerator frozen and covered in ice. Chair stained, sink in bathroom leaked whenever water turned on. Front desk person said she would change my room and apologized. Room inspections of two other rooms uncovered similar conditions. Was advised hotel will be undergoing makeover and was apologized two again.

Overall my stay was very good. Matt was friendly, very accomodating and professional upon our arrival. The room that we stayed in #230 was clean and comfortable. The bathroom needs a bit of an upgrade. A couple holes in the walls and a very noisy, barely functioning fan were our only gripes. The breakfasts provided on both days were spectacular. Kudos to the cooks/chefs who provided us with meals. Service was on time and efficient. Checkout was quick and easy.

Went to check in and they would not accept my check card so I couldn’t even check in. Offered to pay in cash and do a different card for security and he said that was not acceptable. I will never stay with Hampton Inn again. Went right next door and the hotel had no problem at all with my card and saved me about 90$ as he gave me a discount for my inconvenience with Hampton Inn. It was 9pm in a city that I was traveling to with my daughter for a sports event and I cannot express the level of upset this caused to my daughter when I came out without a room. They should be ashamed of themselves!

Front desk staff was amazing and made me feel very welcome. Big kudos there.
My room had a bunch of dust in the shower (like grout dust or drywall dust?), no shower curtain (it was laying on a stool so i went ahead and installed it myself), and no shampoo (which i didnt realize until i was IN the shower). The room also smelled kinda like wet dog - i have dogs so i didnt mind that much. Breakfast was delicious. Not worth the price tag imo.

Overall, the only thing I didn't like which has little to no impact on my opinion of Hampton Inn was the leaking shower faucet. Other than that, our room was clean, quiet, and breakfast wasn't bad. The location put us within 20 mins of Va Beach and other places we wanted to go so convenient. If I ever go back to Va Beach, I would not mind staying here again. Only way I'd choose different is if I find a hotel with an ocean view.

We felt like we were in the barrio with all the barking dogs day and night. One big dog with an annoying bark right next door to us. Sheets and towels were dirty/stained. Front desk staff is incompetent and unprofessional. Breakfast is a joke. I guess you get what you pay for. Wouldn’t return.

Checked in at the desk and the lady who checked us in was super helpful and super friendly. She gave us complimentary water bottles and told us her name and that if we needed anything that she would be glad to assist. The first hotel we stayed at for our vacation was nothing like this. I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone and for ourselves for future vacations as the staff went above and beyond for us. Breakfast was also included and was very satisfying.

I must tell all peoples considering this hotel. if you a person of color might not be the place for you . We did not stay at this hotel because the manager Jesses was handling me, when all sudden the man who said he was the General Manager and push Jesses aside and said I will handle this after insulting me for about 40 mintues and asking what card is this and I said a credit card and said some of peoples come in with debit card and we do not take them and after I went to our car to tell my wife how this man was treating me she said we not stay here. I went back in to give them their keys when this worker said here come , oh they was in the offfice just laughing and having fun at my expense . But shift manager Jesses which was nice tried to get me stay but I say no and the general manager standing there with his hand on his hip like I don`t play with your kind because as I was leaving and lady was coming into the hoteland I guess she could see how upset I was and ask what wrong with and I heard say I am the general and I know how handle this type. My hotel room was paid for in May and they had gotten their money , I think he was trying to impress his coworker because it was young girl came and I forgot cancel the wrong one and him being a middle-age man must want to showher and them how to handle a black man and i was old enough to be his father what made matter worst. The hotel did look clean and many other hotel close by but this was the July 4th, 20 miles to get hotel.

This hotel is disgusting.
We have stayed here 3 times. The first was not good -- dirty and the bathroom sink wouldn't drain. We thought it might be a fluke so tried it again. The second time was passable, so we gave it a third try (location is very convenient).
I am sorry we did. The hotel is filthy. Again, our bathroom sink won't drain. There are stains on everything. The carpet hasn't been fully vacuumed. There is a pepper packet and food crumbs on the carpet.
We saw a cigarette butt on the hallway floor. The hallway reeks of pot.
We have a booking here in 2 weeks for our return journey. We are asking to be refunded for that stay and the hotel has refused. I find that unacceptable. A $175 room rate is absurd for what we are getting. I'm not even asking to be refunded for this stay, just not to be charged for a future one.

General Manager Nick and associate Tara were extremely helpful. Checking in later during a holiday weekend, these two worked to assist us with resolving an issue with our credit union. Both were friendly, understand, and advocated for us in an effort to get the matter resolved. We were greeted daily by staff who remembered our names, which was refreshing. It was impressive to see a working General Manager, who jumped in to assist staff meeting the needs.

Extremely expensive for not being close to the beaches. Vanity was extremely tiny, leaving very little space for sundries. Only one hook for used bath towels and nowhere to hang a hand towel.

Upgraded on the exterior but needed some improvements on interior. Location was great for getting on and off the highway.

We had no complaints, staff that we interacted with was quite friendly, room was exactly as advertised and this was a convenient location for our visit.
