Firstly I was charged £10 to park even though the only reason you would be there is to stay at the hotel. Just add £10 to the rate.
The receptionist was very rude and did not provide any details or information about the hotel.
The room was extremely dated, run down and damaged in places. The bed was the worst I have ever slept on.

Friendly staff, quick check in and a clean room

This is the 2nd time we've stayed at the Regency for a business trip. This time around we booked it last minute as our original hotel in Coleshill was awful and we had enjoyed our previous stay here. There is plenty of parking on site, they've added more electric car ports since the last time, even though we don't have one it's good to see. The staff are very friendly, rooms are clean and spacious with comfy beds, fresh towels and decent sized TV. The attached bar and restaraunt is fantastic, a little pricey but expected from a hotel bar and restaraunt. The food however is amazing so it definitely felt worth the price again with friendly staff.

We stayed in a room that was not refurbished. The mattress had no springs, it was older than me?
Very basic. But clean and the bar and restraunts were newly refurbed.

Quite a nice hotel and was a decent price but the hotel is very dated and in need of refurbishment. The lift wasn’t working which is inconvenient when on the second floor. My room was very spacious but only had 2 usable electrical sockets if you kept the television plugged in. One of these could only really be used for charging up something as it was in the entrance to the room well away from the desk or beds. There were a couple of plug sockets circa. 1970 which only took very old fashioned plugs similar to those used pre 1970. I asked at reception if they had any adaptors so that I could use one of these but the receptionist didn’t understand my request. The bed was comfortable enough but the pillows were far too firm for me.

It was an ok hotel only downside was I booked for the wrong day by accident and tried changing the date literally a couple minutes after booking when I realised but they wouldn’t change the date so I had to book another night so one nights stay was double the cost

Lovely hotel. Fairly inexpensive. Very convenient - short distance from major roads but didn't feel like it. Clean but basic. Looked like it had seen better days - clear signs of people trying hard to keep the place clean and fresh but it had a TV from the 80s and few comforts in the room. The only thing that would put me off staying again is the mattress which was the worst I've ever slept on. My partner weighs around 90kg - he lay down and sank into the bed, causing a massive dip. I weigh around 50kg and was left trying to sleep on the other side which then sloped at 30 degrees. I kept rolling back into my partner. It would have been funny if I wasn't so tired.
Great pizza in the restaurant downstairs. Friendly staff.

Stayed in a family room (2 singles and a double). Room was clean and spacious. Beds were comfortable. Shower was powerful and toiletries provided. Bar area/restaurant has just been renovated and was modern and drinks were reasonably priced for a hotel. For the price it was perfect. Distance to NEC was 15-16 mins on Saturday and Sunday. Check in and our was easy and staff very friendly.

Car park charge was £10, it should be free for guests
Otherwise comfortable stay

Lift not working. Coffee machine not working at breakfast. Dinner at Harry's was edible but sub standard. Card details required at check-in?? I am not a thief. Paying for parking is also a joke/rip off.

Small room and bathroom, uncomfortable noisy single bed jammed between two sets of draws meaning you hit one which ever way you moved. Extra £10 parking fee on top of room charge.

My bed was unbelievably uncomfortable had a dip in the mattress which meant I kept rolling into the dip. The bed was small also feet were hanging off the end and I’m only 5.10. Hotel was nice tho overall but the bed let it down, also the condition of the ceiling and walls let it down as was damp.

First impression was really good, until we wanted to eat in the restaurant which only had one vegan token offering. Room was ok, mattress was awful and squeaky. Breakfast the coffee machine was broken, hot water wasn’t very hot for the coffee bags provided. Again no vegan offerings. And the pasties was cross contaminated with nut ones sitting on top of non nut ones. Really disappointed

The Hotel is very grand and had nice features, lovely big rooms, great location and even though its next to a busy dual carriageway you don't hear any traffic noise. Shame the Leisure Club was closed and no free parking. And unfortunately, I had issues with at lot of banging and stomping noises from the room next to me.

The room i was in smelt of really bad damp the rooms are dated, the bed was uncomfortable, the room was not cleaned properly and the bar prices were outrageously expensive.

I've been staying here some years now- and the whole place is very jaded. My shower wouldn't turn off, and a colleague's hairdryer didn't work- to be told they don't have spares (they do- just the receptionist that morning wasn't great!)
However- the food is fantastic and most of the receptionists know their stuff! They are also undergoing refurbishment- so am hoping they get this done quickly, as it's a great place to stay when on form!

Hotel seems tired and the heating was unable to be turned off in the room which wasn’t conducive to a good nights sleep, however the food in the restaurant was fabulous, staff great and a good price.

This hotel is absolutely to be avoided, the other reviews saying this hotel is tired looking don't even cut it. This hotel is exhausted. Every room or hallway has a unique and disgusting smell. The room I had was battered and sad and smelt of mildew with damp staining on the walls and broken lights, furniture and exposed wires on the hairdryer.
The shower had no temperature control, it was either the scolding baths of hell or arctic freeze. No in-between.
The hallway carpet is stained and worn as well as there being a general sadness to the entire hotel.
The only way this hotel escapes 0 stars is due to how lovely and friendly all the staff were and that the room was clean.
Ultimately I'm happy this was a work trip because I'd be disgusted if I'd actually paid for it. Next time I need to read reviews better.

The room was far too hot! We had the radiators off, windows open in the middle of winter. The pipes were far too hot. Very uncomfortable.
The double bed was so bouncy with no support and we kept rolling into the middle. Two of the most rubbish nights sleep for the adults, kids seemed to have coped well.
Restaurant is lovely as is the food and the staff.

Clean and tidy but showing a bit of wear.
Bed needed a new mattress or a topper as you could feel the springs.
Breakfast ok but a lot of the items on the cooked buffet were not hot.

Give these guys the benefit of the doubt. They are refurbing.
Nice lounge and bar.
The staff work very hard.
The breakfast was lovely. But they need to replace the damn coffee machine.
The pool is currently closed till spring 2024.
The plug sockets are ridiculous. (ALL Placed in strange places, most unusual.Take an extension lead)
There are a lot If stairs (when the lift isn’t working).
The meals are nice, if not a bit pricy.
Car park is huge.
We will be back.

"Disappointing Stay with Non-Functional Amenities"
I recently stayed at Hotel and unfortunately, it was not a pleasant experience. The most significant issue was the non-functional shower, which greatly impacted my stay. Despite bringing this to the attention of the staff, the problem persisted throughout my visit.
Additionally, the overall condition of the hotel appeared dated, and the carpet emitted an unpleasant odor. It's disheartening when basic amenities are not in proper working order, and the overall ambiance falls short of expectations.
Despite leaving my telephone number and email address, I have yet to receive any communication regarding the issues I reported during my stay.
Effective communication is crucial in addressing guest concerns and ensuring a positive experience. Unfortunately, the management's failure to follow up has left me disappointed and dissatisfied.
I hope this feedback prompts improved communication practices and timely issue resolution for future guests

Lovely building exterior and both the bar and restaurant are nice, however the hotel is a little happy. It needs a lick of paint and replacement carpets. The rooms and furniture are really old fashioned. The hairdryer and the bath plug was missing from the room. It took over two hours to supply these.

The hotel was very friendly and clean would stay there again.

The twin room was definitely far better than double room I have stayed in previously. The hotel is gradually being refurbished and some areas are better than others. Going in the right direction

One of the window handlesnwas broken so i couldnt shut the window, it made the room rather cold

Make the "No Entry" exit to the property less prominent / signed because easy to spot in the dark at night on a busy road but very hard to then quickly read that the actual "Entrance" is next left

No lift, no gym, no sauna. Too expensive for a hotel without the metioned facilities

We had a lovely stay but unfortunately we paid £144 for the weekend and was not informed when booked that the pool facilities would be closed very disappointed to pay this much and not get what we paid for

The staff were friendly.

To be fair a large and reasonably comfortable hotel with a range of facilities in an accessible location. But the water pressure in the shower was terrible. And the refurbishment work starting with a drill outside our window at 7.30am did little to enhance our stay. Rooms unremarkable, ok but tired, and no usb port to use the Wi-Fi. Just average with some irritating points.
