Our first hotel room had strong cigars smell and the carpet was very dirty. They changed our room and the second one was better, but the hotel needs renovation

This is our family trip and we had a fabulous time staying in Intercontinental Hotel, Athens. We booked a Club Floor Executive Room and glad to be upgraded to Club Suite. The club staff are friendly, efficient and attention to details. The view of the Club Floor is glorious. I would like to express my special thanks to Eleni in Club Floor. She is brilliant, cheerful and always ready to support every guest in Club Floor. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Staff's hospitality is excellent at front desk and lounge. Coffee shop staff are just possible, I didn't feel comfortable.

The view of the Acropolis was stunning. The club lounge facilities were welcoming. The hotel did an excellent job accommodating us when our flight home was cancelled, and we needed to come back for a night after our cruise.

Perfectly fine - loved that our room had a (angled) view of the Acropolis. Tub is very high to climb over and you should offer slip proof tub mats. Also pool was freezing - can you heat it up about 5 degrees F. Thank you - otherwise great stay.

The room was clean and comfortably sized but the hair dryer didn't work, only a single bath towel was provided, no bath mat was present for the slippery marble floor and several lights had burned out bulbs. The hotel's location is good but the room lacked some of the essentials you expect. Not a good value for the price.

Overall acceptable, but have to improve some of the services to worth the InterContinental brand grade, or even to keep the standard five stars hotel basic values, specifically concerning the housekeeping.
Cool staff in general, some of them are much more friendly than the other more formal ones.

The hotel is located basically one Metro stop from the Acropolis. The hotel was great! The neighborhood where the hotel is located is a little bit rundown. However, I never felt scared to walk around. I would just be a little bit cautious in the late night hours. There was always a taxi waiting outside in the event that you wanted to go somewhere however we chose to use the metro, which was approximately a four block walk. The pool was a little on the small side and usually busy. For us it was not a problem because we chose to take a short 10 minute cab ride to the beach. So we didn’t spend much time at the pool. The lobby had a beautiful seating area with a very nice bar if you wanted to grab a drink in the evening. The airport is approximately a 30 minute drive from the hotel, which will cost you approximately €50. But once you’re at the hotel, you can access all the big attractions by taking a short metro ride or a short cab ride to the center of Athens. I definitely think it’s a great spot if you don’t want to be in the middle of Athens and around all the congestion.

It was close to the Acropolis. Close to the Plaka. Close to the Center. Just a great location to be at.

My God - this has to be one of the worst so called "5 stars" I've stayed at. Service personnel need "customer centric" training and need to improve customer interactions ( curt / abrupt / impolite / to downright rude ). Room service was a disaster ( we stayed for 14 days and they messed up the service every day for that duration ). The bathroom has broken toilet handles. The room has in operational plugs. The TV barely functioned properly. Their were no good TV options. The carpet was outdated. The cleaning service several times forgot to refill soap containers or vacuum the room ( had to be told ). I mean - it's an outdated hotel, the personal need training - and this is a so called 5 star - worse yet - Intercontinental?? IHG has a brand name - this hotel is not reflective of it. Period.

We really enjoyed our stay in the hotel. We had booked Classic rooms that were big and comfortable. We slept extremely well in the big king size beds with nice duvets.
The hotel is distinctly American in style. The pool area was nice and we really enjoyed it, although I think it could have been a bit bigger. Hotel gym was also big and functional.
Breakfast buffet was good and had a wide selection, including an omelet making stand. The coffee had a very weird taste though - suggest to either clean the coffee machine of use different coffee beans and water.
House keeping comes early so use the do no disturb signs unless you leave the room early. They could also be a bit better at restocking the mini bar and the hand lotion.
Staff was very friendly and we had a great time.

Nice place but ridiculously expensive for any dining. 9€ for a small can of coke. That’s a joke. 8€ for a coffee. Recommend something closer to the market.

Lovely clean safe hotel the staff were excellent but housekeeping very short staffed so big delays getting rooms ready or made up. Was quite shocked how dirty and rough the surrounding streets were. The pavements were broken uneven drain covers unstable and graffiti covers Athens. Hotel also surrounded by adult clubs which wasn’t pleasant to see.
