Cleanliness wasn’t the best marks on bed linen, sofa bed stained, carpets grubby, lights in room very dull, musty smell especially in halls/landing. Staff were helpful/friendly free breakfast wasn’t bad, wouldn’t say worst I’ve stayed in but given choice I wouldn’t stay again.

Beautiful hotel, really enjoyed our stay

My wife and I stayed for two nights in a pleasant room designed for disabled guests. Unfortunately there was only one chair in the room which was inconvenient. Perhaps it is assumed one guest will be in a wheelchair but many people with disabilities do not use a wheelchair and I believe those that do would prefer to have a comfortable armchair. On the second day we returned to the room at about 4.30 pm and found the room had not been serviced, in particular the beds were not remade. I reported this to reception and shortly afterwards a very apologetic housekeeping manager arrived and made the beds for us. She also provided the tea/coffee supplies which had not been filled. Okay, there was a quick reaction to my complaint, but I thought it was extraordinary that the room had not been serviced by late afternoon.

Good value

Easy to find just off of the A27. Staff friendly and helpful. Not much choice on the hot breakfast. Was nearly constantly having to wait for sausages and bacon.

Hotel was as expected, good value for money, clean and well located.

From moment I walked in to the min I left felt welcome and relaxed everyone was friendly and helpfull and breakfast was a great start to the day

Overall good experience but the fittings in the bathroom could use some fixing. The shower head leaked and was not strong enough. Otherwise, we had a great time and it’s what you’d expect from a Holiday Inn Express.

The bed is too hard. A thicker mattress topper would provide better sleep. Also house keeping is not good enough. Bedding is not clean. Towels do not smell fresh.

You know what you get with holiday inn , room clean and tidy , only difference this time was we left breakfast until a bit later ( 9am ) big mistake as it seemed everyone had done the same , staff could not keep up with clearing , getting food out , cutlery , plates etc . Also 1 coffee machine broken and other was on its last legs . But considering what we had paid , and in the scheme of things not worth getting too upset about .

Great location and polite helpful staff

Arrived after 3pm room not ready had booked an accesible room offered a better room but not accessible facilites took it rather than wait for ages,only problem at back end of hotel. Reception staff very laid back and unconcerned other staff were very good and focused.

My only criticism is the usual room doors slamming shut which is a nuisance and also the parking machine didn't offer a receipt and managing to contact the parking company for one as advised is proving very problematic, other wise I very much enjoyed my stay.

Position only 6 k from the ferry,the hassle of paying to park why not just include it in the price

We've stayed there before, hassle free and friendly. Perfect location. Only problem there was not enough tea and milk in the room for length of stay. We enjoyed our stay and will be returning

Good hotel but let down by room not cleaned

Nice clean room, lighting very dim. Would prefer fried egg choice at breakfast.

Comfortable bed but small rooms. Lots of spaces for parking but not sure why parking is chargeable. The hotel was very busy so breakfast was chaos and quality of the food was average.

Large and comfortable rooms, newly built or renovated. The breakfast/dining area is also nice and I had a few meals in the hotel, although the food is average and especially the breakfast could be better (the English breakfast is quite cheap looking in my opinion). There was a lot of walking involved to get to the room too, but other than that the hotel was good and I enjoyed staying there. I would definitely stay here again!

This Hotel is exactly what you expect it to be. Decor is the same as all the other Holiday Inn express. The room was clean and pretty spacious. Check in was quick and fuss free. The only thing that marred my stay was noisy air con, noisy plumbing and noisy patrons going to bed somewhat over refreshed.

Did the job for us for a short break in Portsmouth, clean, modern and plenty of parking. The breakfast was average at best and the buffet was very untidy during half term. Would stay there again.

Arrived to find the reception staff helpful as I didn’t book a accessible room by mistake and he found us a bigger room for our sons wheelchair access. Room clean bed comfortable lovely pillows. But absolutely terrible breakfast ! Not cooked freshly, No coffee, very slow in topping up the hot breakfast very abrupt staff when asking for things to be topped up Overall it was ok but wouldn’t stay again.
