The Southern Hospitality was a level 10. I was there for my cousin's graduation and this location was in the best location for what I needed. Coliseum was right across the street, plenty of food options nearby and most importantly easy interstate access.

There was what looked like mold and mildew on the filter inside of the ac units inside of the room, and they need to be changed asap, that is not safe ir sanitary.

Quiet and pleasant stay in a clean and updated room. Good breakfast.

Got the rest we needed on last leg to home.

Base on this photo I took of a sign in the bathroom, housekeeping services should have been provided every other day. When I inquired as to why we had not had any services after our second day, I was told that services must be requested. That is NOT what the sign says. I have noticed ever since the pandemic, the daily housekeeping in most hotels is practically non-existent. However, the price of the rooms have remained the same. This is industry wide!

No bath towels in our room. We reported it to the front desk; they said they would report it to their supervisor. Also, there was a used sanitary glove on the elevator when we checked in. It was still there when we checked out. Not our usual Hampton experience.

The place needs a serious update. I didn't get the quality that i paid for. This hoyel needs to charge Red Roof prices instead of luxury prices.

We had a nice stay. The bed was extra comfortable. Everything was neat and clean. Breakfast buffet was great.

We showed up for the marathon, tried to check in at 5:30pm and our room wasn’t ready. We couldn’t get in until 6:30. We asked for a late check out so we could have a place to shower after the race - we figured it would be fair compensation for the late check in - and they refused.
It’s run down and not worth the money, as well as tremendously disorganized.

We chose to stay here due to its close proximity to the coliseum. We had a really great stay. We had a suite and it was very clean and spacious. We felt safe and the staff were really friendly. My only complaints are minor. We didn’t have a vent in the bathroom and I wish the shampoo bottle and etc were located in the opposite direction bc I kept bumping into them while showering. Other than those small nuisances, we would definitely stay again when in this area!

Just an overnight stay. Everything was fine except there was no one at the desk the 3 different times I went there. No bell. No sign why they were away. The rooms were clean. But the beds were too firm for my liking and the sheets were not typical soft hotel sheets. They were stiff
and scratchy.

The loony and breakfast area are well maintained and bright. The room we had was a suite and perfect for 2 adults and busy grandkids. Some of the areas are a little worn and untidy(trash pilled up at the elevator for two days). But the staff are very friendly open and made you feel at home. Plus the site is close to the children's museum complex.

The heat did not work. The unit was stuck on cold and blew freezing air all night. Staff was awesome. Quiet. Overall good stay.

Not the best Hotel. Room had spots on the carpet and hairs in the shower. Overnight front desk clerk was not helpful. Referred any and all questions to morning staff

This location has easy access on and off the freeway (I-55) and is close to downtown.

The staff was AMAZING. Each staff member was kind and friendly. I felt SAFE! There was a big fair going on and the hotel had a guard at the entrance. I'm Olivia, Vincent's wife. I was traveling alone.

The people are really nice and the hotel is clean. Downtown Jackson is just desolate, though.

We didn’t receive maid service the first night, but once we pointed it out the staff more than made up for it.

Prior to check in, the front desk sent me an email encouraging me to use self check in. They provided me with very clear instructions which in turn expedited my check in process. Upon arrival, the front desk lady was very friendly and cheerful and put a smile on my face. It’s obvious she enjoys her job and has most likely been working there for many years (simply due to her efficiency). Common areas of the hotel are all in meticulous condition and my room was exactly as expected. Comfortable beds, ample windows/window coverings, mini fridge and a nice bathroom with all of the necessary fixens. I appreciated the guest laundry and the fact that there was s side door, making for a much more efficient and straightforward departure. Hotel is nicely tucked away on a quiet street less than a 5 minute walk to several food stores, restaurants and fast food chains. I had no security concerns although I would encourage prospective guests to pay particular attention to the location as it’s by no means in the center of downtown. The only thing I’d dock points for would be the elevators. I’ve been in 100 year old buildings that have had faster lifts. They were so slow I honestly felt I was going back in time. All in all, 9.5/10 - well done!

If was a very nice hotel. The staff was so nice.

The staff were friendly but the hotel is dirty and poorly maintained. Floors not swept or vacuumed. Trash cans overflowing for days. Spills and sticky floors in the elevators not cleaned up well. I nevet saw anyone in four days wiping down or sanitizing the breakfast area. The first night i turned on the shower brown water shot out -probably rust. I felt everything needed a through cleaning and disinfecting.

The front desk person was very rude. I had to call her on the phone to get her, when I was checking in, because she had gone in the back. I waited there for her to come out for about 5 minutes before calling. She was nasty for the rest of my stay.

If you need to run to Jackson, MS, for a two to three day errand, here’s a dependable hotel right off I-55. Adjacent to the Coliseum and nearly within walking distance to the state Capitol, Hampton Inn is perfect.

The first room they gave us hadn’t been cleaned. We told them at the desk and got another room that was fine. The internet was terrible. The breakfast was subpar to other hotels we’ve stayed at. Otherwise, a decent place. Was quiet.
