Adequate for a quick overnight stay. Could not do 2 nights. Clean and compact. The bathroom was extremely small. The decor of red and grey gave me a headache.However, if you just need a room to sleep in for the night, this is it - just

Ideally located to an area vent I was attending , good breakfast , nice clean room and friendly helpful staff

Unfortunately the TV randomly turned on in the middle of the night whilst I was asleep and the only way to turn it off was to turn the electric sockets off for the room! Reception was helpful but I had to go down in person because the reception number is only printed on the KEY CARD which of course was in the slot in the room. I was checking the paper slip it comes in and all around the room and there was nothing and noone had pointed it out to me on arrival. Also the print would rate poorly for accessibility. Just the reception number being easier to find could have really made the whole situation much less inconvenient.

The reception staff, particularly Sarah, were hands down the most attentive hotel staff ever experienced

Exactly what to expect from an Ibis budget hotel. Very compact but perfectly adequate room. Very central location too. Would happily stay again.

Details said food was available until 10pm. We went to order at 9.25 and was told we could only have toasties as chef wanted to go home. We therefore had to leave the hotel to get dinner. Also prices were different when we ordered at the bar than they were on the link on the website, so ended up spending a lot more money than we had anticipated on food, which was unacceptable and not budgeted for.

Enjoy our stay was visiting family and have stayed here before . our only frustration with the room was no drawer space feel the table next to bed could have been used better as drawer space we are elderly and climbing for the top of wardrobe to retrieve clothing is very very difficult

My wife and I stayed 1 night in the Ibis, the hotel was in a fair location for exploring Portsmouth, Gun Wharf Quay being a 10 minute walk away and pubs and restaurants a short stroll. The entrance lobby was pleasant and large in size with a bar and lots of seating areas. We were on the fourth floor which we accessed via a lift. The room itself was what let the trip down, extremely small, dark and an odd shape, the en-suite was tiny and the toilet was positioned so that it was extremely difficult to use, both my wife and I struggled. We had stayed in a premier in the night before and for the rooms there was no comparison. Parking was £12 for 24hr and is on site. Service was fair, check in was easy, but we asked for ferry directions on one occasion and the receptionist didn’t really understand us. We were not in the room or the hotel much, but on this occasion both my wife and I (who stay away a lot and don’t expect much) felt the need to say that we would avoid the hotel in the future due to the room.

The room was basic but had everything you needed. The the bathroom was extremely small with just enough room to get past basin to toilet.

Hotel room was comfortable and very clean and ideally situatedcto see Portsmouth. Only downside, bathroom was very small, the shower doors were ill fitted and the bathroom was flooded after every shower with no drain off.

Reception area welcoming with comfy seats and plenty of room. Staff helpful and polite. Room clean and comfortable with perfect bed for us not too soft and not too hard. Tea and coffee in room. Bathroom on the small side but well maintained with good shower. Near the university area so plenty of shops and restaurants and about 15 min walk to Gunwharf Quays. Went on the ferry to Isle of Wight and did the millennium walk to Southsea. We stayed 3 nights and felt it was about the right amount of time.

Stayed at the Ibis with my mum , we had a late check in after a ferry back from Bilbao. The chap who checked us in was very helpful and polite. The room was warm & comfortable , the design was not the best, a very small bathroom which was not easily accessible due to a desk right where the door opened. Not easy for my 80yr old mum. Breakfast was good , but think £25 was abit much for a continental and a full English breakfast. But all in all a great overnight stop . Staff all lovely.

Good spot, not far from the train station and easily reasonable distance from the seafront or harbour and outlets area. Rooms are small, with access to the bathroom psychiatry right. And not much sound proofing.

No complaints for the price paid - the rooms are small but that’s to be expected from a budget hotel chain. Overall nice and modern, quiet room in a decent location

We visited Portsmouth for a weekend to explore the local area and see some naval history, we chose Ibis because it was pretty central and within walking distance of all the interesting places.the hotel itself was very nice, and the staff were fantastic, my wife is in a wheelchair due to injury atm, and they went out of their way to make things easy for us, unfortunately the bed and pillows in our room were hard, and although the room was clean, we both came away with itchy bites on our lower legs, another thing to be aware of is the nightclubs nearby, the room itself was quite warm, so we had a window slightly open for a bit of ventilation, but we could hear the music from a nearby nightclub and it was clear enough for us to play “guess the song” at 1 am, we had a laugh about that tbh, but we weren’t prepared for the drunken screaming competitions that came later, if you stay here, ask for a room away from the roadside

Card machine shoved in your face instead of a hello to pay 12 quid a night's parking as soon as you walk in. Don't take cash not even for a pint. Probably why I seen half the residents in Spoons 2 minutes walk away. Bathroom tiny, lacks plug sockets. Good WiFi.

The service was great, very friendly staff, but the beds are so uncomfortable. The mattress is about 3in thick and very hard.

We stayed for one night so it was perfect for a stopover. Our room and en-suite was very clean and well presented but the bathroom was so small. You didn’t have a lot of leg room when sitting on the toilet and the shower was very small but that was the only negative thing! We had breakfast in the morning, there was a selection of food on offer so you wouldn’t go hungry to be fair. The staff we met were polite and friendly. We enjoyed our stay there and would stay again for a stopover.

Very nice breakfast. The rooms (particularly bathroom) are too small. Also very irritating the huge variation of price between days.

Welcoming staff, comfortable, clean room, large lounge and bar.Great value for money. I need more reasons to visit Portsmouth so I can have a return stay! Thank for the memory.
