We were scheduled to stay for 3 nights (Fri-Sun). From the moment we walked in the door on Friday night, our stay was terrible. In the lobby, there were 8-10 approximately 10-12 year olds running around. Not totally the hotels fault (Where was the adult supervision?) but that set the tone for the stay. The shades in the room were completely broken and would not go up or down. Fortunately broken down so that's were they stayed. It was very hot in the room - the A/C unit would not cool the room at all even though it seemed to be working and was set at max. The mini fridge was very noisy for not being at all cold. The bathroom sink would spray all over the place if it was turned on more than a trickle.Somehow we managed to survive the hot, noisy night. Saturday's breakfast was only average. Not many hot selections and limited other items. All of this could be lived with until Saturday night when the hot water tank stopped working! So also no new towels. Sunday morning came and still no hot water with no repair timetable in sight. Breakfast was even worse - including the pancake machine was now broken! We checked out Sunday morning - a day early. We were able to convince the counter that we deserved a refund. Which we were given a refund for Sunday night only. We should have been given one for the entire weekend! We usually consider Holiday Inn Express as our go-to hotel but this one will definitely NOT be on our list. This hotel needs some major renovations!

When we checked in we were put in a room with 2 smaller beds when we reserved a room with 1 queen bed. One of the beds were not made, there were dirty towels in the bathroom, and there was trash in the trash can. We went to lobby and asked to be moved. The lady at the front desk said it was hotels.com fault because of the way the reservation comes through. She spent a few minutes looking for an available room and luckily found one. I am disappointed with hotels.com because they make it seem like you can pick your room and I’m disappointed with holiday inn for originally placing us in a dirty room. We just drove 10 hours and didn’t want to have to deal with that. My other disappointment with the hotel is the breakfast buffet. It was incredibly small compared to other holiday inn hotels we have stayed in. The bacon they served was severely undercooked as well. The hotel is also definitely older than other holiday inns I have stayed in. The hall ways are hot and humid and the sink in the bathroom had mold on the backside that I could see in the sink. I should have taken pictures but we were there for a family emergency so taking pictures was not my top priority. I wouldn’t stay in this property again.

Overall a good experience. At check-in, the person at front desk asked if we needed to use the pull-put sofa, which we did. So she gave us fresh sheets, a duvet, and one pillow to put on it. When we got to the room, the pull out was already made up, but clearly had been used previously. There appeared to be only one person on duty, so rather than request to have it changed, we just did it ourselves so we could go to bed without waiting. There were a few spots in the tub corners that could have been better cleaned, appeared to have some mildew building up. But the beds were comfortable, there were enough towels in the bathroom, the room was quiet, and we could all stay in one room for a decent price, close to our route of travel.

When we arrived the front desk said your room isn't ready. She called someone then promptly gave me the key and said it was ready. It wasn't that clean. The pillow cases had mascara on them and the floors hadn't been vacuumed. When we looked in the shower, there was a used was cloth hanging on the shower head.

Stayed for two nights to visit the AF museum and a music event at the Rose Center. The staff was great and the facility was good, but probably due for some touch-up renovating. I didn't care for the liquid bath soap. I was unable to access the wifi with my laptop. I went to the desk multiple times with 3 different desk employees, could access standing at the desk, but as soon I went into my room (110), I lost access. I would not stay here again due to the wifi alone.

Took forever to check in and there was only 1 person in front of me.

The property was ok. The staff were fine. The discouraging thing was we were charged an additional $25 fee with no explanation. We noticed this charge pop up on our credit card after we had left the hotel that morning. I have called corporate to get an explanation for the up charge and not return call has happened with an explanation.

Arrived after 11, no one was at the desk. There was a sign that they stepped away but they came back within a couple minutes. I checked in, went to my room but the key didn’t work. So I had to go back to the l front desk and wait more than a couple minutes for the employee to come back. I understand minimal staffing but I was tired and wish my key would have worked the first time and that I didn’t have to wait a second time at the the front desk.
Bed is okay but not the most comfortable. Hotel is clean.

I am so grateful to the excellent staff for getting my room prepared with a crib and bath mat for my child. They went above and beyond to make sure we had what we needed. Thank you, Brian, Rick, and Tammy!

Our room and the entire hotel was very clean and comfortable. There were a couple of maintenance issues that we told the front desk about.

Less than 30 minutes after checking in, 3 people walked in my room using a card key. They assigned my room to other people! This happened to several other people. I did not feel safe staying there and will never use this chain again.

I didn’t like that when I arrived our room wasn’t ready so the manager gave me another and it wasn’t even cleaned yet but the manager gave me her best Suite for a great price and our weekend was great.

The manager and staff were really great.
But not what I expected for a holiday inn express. Our room was kind of dingy, could use an update with paint and better fixtures

This isn’t the Ritz. But, I didn’t expect it to be. It is obvious that management is working to upgrade. This is based on my observation that linens were new, bathroom fixtures and shower curtain were new as well. Our bed was perfect. The coffee maker in our room did not work. There could be better cleaning in the hallways and elevator. Breakfast was subpar. We went down at 7 (began at 6). The eggs and sausage were cold. There was only one sweet roll and when that was gone, they weren’t replaced. All of that said, if I am needing to stay in Dayton again, I would consider staying there again because, as I said, it appears they are making efforts to upgrade.
