We had a lovely time at the hotel. I wish I could have stayed longer. The kids loved the pool and the king size bed I let them sleep in and I took the very comfortable sofa bed. The kitchen is completely stocked with everything you might need to cook a quick meal. I would stay here again. We enjoyed the arcade games, pool table and hocky table.. There was a lot to do. I had small children so went to Baby Beach but the beach is right across the street.

The room itself was amazing. The staff made the trip fustrating.
Staff at front desk was rude and seemed irritated if we would ask them any questions or had any concerns. There was a lot of eye rolling and heavy sighing coming from them.

Nice hotel, great rooms, perfect location, right across from the beach.
Front desk girl needs to be friendly and smile. We travel a lot, Front desk staff was dull, the concierge did a better job than her.

Was rainy so unable to take full advantage of beach & free bikes. Balcony was nice, overlooks 4 lane road in front of beach/ocean. There is a fence so not sure on direct access point to beach from hotel. We drove south a bit to find access. Road noise wasn’t too bad but if you out want to sit on balcony it is not private to neighbor. Loved having a full kitchen & grilling ability- although we didn’t use it for this stay. Suite was spacious & clean. Customer service outstanding! We were able to have an early checkin which was great since our plans had changed due to weather. Power also went out a few times overnight & manager checked in to be sure everything was okay.

the elevator near my room was out so I had to walk a long way and thru construction to get to my 4th floor room. As a 70 year old woman I found it very tiring walking up and down 4 flights of stairs.

the view very close to the sea

Having never been to this area we just picked a place along our route. The hotel was directly across the street from the beach with a walking bridge close by. The pool and hot tub areas were very nice. Looks like there was a lot of items you could rent/purchase at the beach at the shop. Bummed we didn’t get an opportunity to check it all out! The room was huge. I could see a family reunion or gathering at a place like this!

What's not to like about staying across the street from the ocean, especially with a perfect view of it from your balcony?!
5.0
It had a beautiful view of the ocean with easy access, the grounds were well kept and inviting, the suite was perfect and the staff was wonderful! Even though they were renovating parts of the resort they kept the distractions minimal and I can't wait to see it once all the improvements are in place.

The place was clean staff was great however this is a time share facility . Lots of noise with kids and all night we heard knocking on our bedroom wall, singing upstairs, singing which concerned us especially with all the issues happening now in the world.

The beach is close and convenient. Although the cleanliness of the room was not great. The furniture in our room was stained and we had to cover it to sit on. It was not normal stains, it was the stains of use over the years. Our sliding glass door showed signs of damage from someone trying to break in previously. Our family previously had a time share and we've let it go due to this property declining over the years.

We had a great stay!

Good soundproofing considering your right on PCH and Amtrak line. Rooms were very clean and would stay there again. My only thing I wish the check-in was at 3pm and not 4pm and there a check out was at 11am and 10am

Felt like we were in a different state.

The hotel is rated a 3-star, but could easily be a 4-star hotel. I would rank it a 3.5 star with all the amenities like a game room, billiards room, two Jacuzzi and wonderful ocean view. The room was perfect and I had a grill, toaster, blender, full fridge, dishwasher and everything.
The problem was ants. I swear Dave Matthews had Ants Marching all over the bathroom, opposite wall and even found 2 ants on the bed! (Agh)

Great value compared to other hotels in the area, and very comfortable stay. Front desk staff is helpful, yet, they talk to you like they don't like dealing with you. At least that's the feeling I got. They'll accommodate your wishes, but with a little attitude. Maybe lacking in hospitality training. The security guy, when checking in late at night was very helpful and friendly. Room is super clean and pool/hot tub was clean. Would love to be back but hope for a nicer interaction with the staff.

Elevator did not work, we never checked in

I would have given the hotel staff a terrible rating except the woman in the marketplace was incredibly friendly. The front desk staff were awful- I’ve never seen a less friendly group at a hotel. One tall female stood out as friendly and customer centric but the others were uncomfortably cold. At one point I asked them if they were okay because check in was so awkward.
I didnt mind the painting that was going on during our stay, but the pool, elevators, and were closed. At one point the stairwell near our room was under construction too. I would have expected a hilton hotel to at least leave a “pardon our mess” card and complimentary water bottles? Oreos? Something that shows appreciation? Note: there was no warning that ocean view balconies wouldn’t be accessible, pool closed or elevators closed. I received an email after I made the reservation and they refused to let me cancel without losing the money.
But, the rooms are great for a family of four, the kidz zone is cute, bike rentals are a great perk and parking is in a well-lit garage. Even though customer service is terrible, we’d stay again because the location is great

Great place to stay, love all the amenities. Have stayed here several times and have always enjoyed it.
We will definitely be back.

The only positive about the entire property was the view. Our room smelled like old fried food, the bathroom small, worn and dirty/stained. I am ashamed of Hilton and Expedia for the bait and switch marketing of this property, and grossly overpriced. I am confused how Hilton can sell this property as part of their vacation club.

From the moment I arrived at Riviera Beach & Shores Resorts, I knew I was in for a treat. Nestled in the heart of Dana Point, this resort perfectly marries the charm of a quaint coastal town with the luxurious amenities of a top-tier resort. My room offered ocean views, a serene ambiance, and impeccable comfort. The staff was consistently warm, attentive, and went above and beyond to ensure my stay was nothing short of spectacular. Outside, the pristine beach was just a stone's throw away, providing endless hours of relaxation. With a plethora of nearby activities, from boating to boutique shopping, there was never a dull moment. An unforgettable getaway, and I cannot recommend it enough!

Great condo resort right on the PCH. Room was fantastic. Plenty of space. Big bedroom. Great bathroom. Deck overlooking the ocean. Pool area was amazing. Two hot tubs. Large heated pool. Great loungers. Plenty of stuff to do in the area and at the resort. Parking was easy too. Would definitely stay again.

The pool and hot tub area was very nice, and very friendly staff. Rooms are a bit dated but very nice for the value.

The property was family friendly. Staff was professional. Amenities made the facility stand out from other hotels.

Great location, but our room was very outdated, the tub had mold and should really be replaced, and the shower gel was empty. We only stayed one night so it wasn't worth contacting the staff regarding these issues.
As for staff, only one person on staff was personable; one was neutral but made no eye contact, and the other was very cold and unfriendly. While it was nothing to ruin my day, it's always surprising to see people such unwelcoming customer service, when returning a smile takes such little effort.

Great location and amenities! Made our trip very pleasant. Staff was very quick with anything we needed and even checked in periodically to see what they could bring
