We reserved a Superior Room, KING Bed thru Expedia 1 year in advance; confirmed booking a week in advance and received email confirming room category directly from Riverbend.
When we checked in, we were given a Superior room but with only 1 QUEEN bed. Gracie and Cara at the front desk were apologetic; said there was a system glitch, they were fully booked; no other rooms were available; offered us complimentary breakfast. We felt short-changed, and told them that we would depart after 1 night vs. 2. Gracie phoned the manager but Joseph Legace was unavailable. She left him a VM and also phoned the asstt. manager.
Next morning, we met with Joseph Legace. We found him brusque, unapologetic and unwelcoming. He said there was nothing he could do about the system glitch except buy us dinner that night. We asked to be checked out. He refused since booking was thru Expedia and he would have to pay for Expedia for 2 nights. According to the Expedia website, reservations can be changed by the property. But to help Mr. Legace, we phoned Expedia to cancel the second night. Expedia agreed. Once we confirmed that Expedia agreed to cancel the second night, Mr. Legace miraculously found a room with 2 queen beds for us.
At that point, we checked out. We didn’t appreciate the way Mr. Legace treated us. While it is a nice property, breakfast was lovely, most of the staff was polite, and we visit Niagara-on-the-Lake often enough, we will NOT BE STAYING at this property again.

Lovely place. Did an overnight with two other couples. We had a wonderful time. The rooms were exceptional. The staff was very accommodating. It is Off season so restaurant wasn't serving dinner, but had a cheese board and we could get wine. They were open for Breakfast and it was amazing
Looking forward to returning

Beautiful old house with boutique style rooms. Very friendly staff, Kelsey our breakfast server was a star, made our trip with his ‘silly’ service!

Overall good experience however I only learned afterwards that we were supposed to be offered complimentary sparkling wine glasses at check in which they did not provide to us.

Only suggestion to make would be to have the bar open later than 8pm. Other than that, absolutely stunning!

Spent the weekend with my wife to celebrate our anniversary e everything was perfect. The property is gorgeous, room cozy and super comfortable and the staff is super nice and helpful. Rachel contacted us when I made the reservation and presented many options of things to do and see and set up reservations for dinner and wine tasting.
All I can say is a huge thank you and we will definitely come back.

Beauty area and hotel. Two wineries in easy walking distance. Many more a mile or so away.

Beautiful hotel facing vineyards. We were upgraded to a Superior room for no charge which was great. Room was large and comfortable with views out over one of the vineyards.
We had a drink at the bar in the evening and breakfast on the day that we checked-out. Food and service are excellent.
Only issue that we had was charging my EV. Previously I was told to park next to a 110V outlet and plug-in there. The outlet was not working, but the other outlet was working but occupied by another EV which was charging. I reported this to the Receptionist who told me that people were using these power outlets without asking, and that the breaker had tripped. She did not have the authority to reset the breaker.
Really for a luxury hotel charging $300 per night, they should have Level 2 Wall Connectors specifically for charging EV's. Many other hotels in NOTL have these. This is really putting me off staying at this hotel in future.
The Receptionist at check-out said that they had had the comment about no facility to charge EV's many times before and that they are considering it.
I mentioned that a Tesla Universal Wall Connector will charge all Tesla cars as well as other EV's using the J1772 connector. This is what we have in our garage and they charge to 11.5kW power. This is what they need and I would expect them to have 2-3 of these installed.

Water bottles in the room were open upon arrival. Bed headboard was not on secure and unsafe. The Washroom door did not work, and my wife got locked in and could not get out.
Very disappointing for a premium place.

It was exactly what we expected. Super comfy beds, excellent gourmet meals in the dining room. Fine service.

One of our favourite hotels in the world, great location and restaurant. The bed in the room we had (212) was not great though even though the room itself was awesome.

An amazing place to stay in the heart of wine country with first class service and hospitality.

Very nice hotel and room. Rachel, from the front desk, was very accommodating. Would absolutely stay here again.

The location is very peaceful and quiet. We love that you can walk or bike to town, but you're away from the busy streets.
It would be nice, however, to have access to water or beverages while you're at this property. The only thing to drink is wine, so bring your sodas and bottled water with you as they only clean the rooms and replenish the water (which you also need for the coffee maker) every three days.
The price is also very steep - much higher than it used to be, and, in the past, they provided free breakfast and wine to take home upon check out, but that is no longer the case. The restaurant is also closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, so there is no food/bar service whatsoever on those days, and that means you have to drive into town.
Overall, we would still recommend the Riverbend.

Was a very nice hotel and room we stayed in. It was harvest time so the vineyards are setting off these loud bangs to scare away the birds, other than that noise it was very quiet and relaxing.
