Convenient location.

Comfy hotel in a great location in Naples. Staff was excellent. Location is a bit hard to find (through a door off the stairs and up some stairs), I do wish the hotel provided directions prior to our arrival.

The location is perfect and the staff was extraordinary. They were so helpful and friendly. Breakfast was wonderful

super nice staff, loved the welcome with drinks and pastry! Amazing building in a really nice area of the city, very safe but at the same time not too touristy. Lots of restaurants and cafes. Really recommend Madison Degas!

Great small hotel in central naples, rooms very spacious and we had a very friendly welcome. We were also given a talk and info on Naples and the best places to go to eat etc. would recommend.

Loveliest staff we met in Italy. They couldn’t do more for you. Great location. Room was simple but had everything we needed and the breakfast was a good bonus. Don’t be put off by the entrance!

Did not have a great stay due to difficulty finding the hotel, smell in the room, lack of wifi in my room, etc. However it's hard to complain about these things given the price of the hotel is so incredibly low, what can you really expect? When they received the complaint, they did call me within an hour and offer to pay for my stay at another hotel, a *very* nice gesture. I did not take them up on is as it was already 8PM and I had a very early departure the following morning.

Thank goodness I had taken a copy of the entrance so when we finally found the square with the big monument we knew to look left. Then the door was locked and, fortunately someone let us into the parking area. Then the elevator (free but we were told to bring .10 euro to operate it), and finally up on 3rd floor is the entrance to the hotel - again locked. We arrived at 8 PM after walking with luggage from the Museum of Archeology (a MUST SEE if you are going to Pompei) and were warmly greeted by Ichik who let us in, gave us juice to drink, THREE keys to go out and come back for dinner. Lovely breakfast - simple but complete.

Very helpful, warn, friendly staff. It's in an older building so we had issues with our shower making weird noises but overall not a deal breaker.

Excellent location for sightseeing. Staff helpfull and friendly. The room was clean although a little shabby. Breakfast was adequate and seemed to improve as the week went on. Would have liked coffee making facility in the room , there was a small fridge in a cupboard that we found on our last day!

Really enjoyed our stay at Maison Degas. It's conveniently located a short walk (15 min) from the nearby Port of Napoli and Molo Beverello, where you can catch boats all along Italy's gorgeous Western coast. The staff at the hotel were very kind and accommodating, willing to help you find your way around the city and print any travel documents you may need. Special thanks to Mariano and Silivio who were so helpful to us. The hotel is located an even shorter walk from delicious restaurants and shopping on Toledo, also nearby a marvelous church and piazza. We really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this to anyone looking for a convenient hotel in the city of Napoli at a solid price.

This hotel is a contradiction. I booked it because of the location and the great reviews. And I agree with the reviews...for the most part. The staff and service of this hotel (which I see as more of a bed and breakfast) make up for almost all of its quirks. And boy, it has a lot of quirks. First, my room (#5) had no doorknob of any kind. Doesn't sound like a problem until you have to try and lock the door. Secondly, the toilet in my room was constantly an issue. When it was working properly, it would make strange noises every so often. I was warning of "only flushing toilet paper" upon check in, because of the ancient plumbing in the old building. But, the toilet would periodically make novices an hour or more after use. When the plumbing was not working properly, both the shower and the toilet were affected, but rectified easily. The bed, though large, was hard. The AC worked well but you could not keep it on when you were not in the room...I tried to keep it on one day (it was in the high 80s during my June stay) and housekeeping must have turned it off. There was a phone in the room but calls could not be transferred to it. And (a minor thing), the tv had more channels than I could scroll through but none in English that I found. Saying all of that, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay because of the staff and the wonderful service. The staff was all very friendly and willing to help out in any way. I enjoyed getting to know them and they made this one worth it.

Building was 16th century and amazing and as you would expect a little quirky. Staff were unbelievably helpful. Special mention to Andrea who despite not speaking much English (more than our Italian though!) went out of his way to give great service, even ordering the cab to take us to station at best times.

Let me say that Naples is a noisy place during the day. We stayed in room 2. The room was ok and the staff excellent. The only problem we found was the outside noise.Despite double glazing it got through. Two nights Fri and Sat it goes on till well past midnight from a restaurant and club. It is also a transit route from somewhere to somewhere else. We had people shouting, screaming , throwing bottles and playing football against the large doors in the early hours. Ask for a room not facing the piazza as they are quiter .
Location good.

The hotel was a fantastic location in the heart of everything the old town has to offer. Couple of great bars opposite. When flight was delayed and our arrival late they were very friendly and accommodating. Would recommend.

Hotel was in a convenient location, and the family sized room was the perfect accommodation for our one night stay in Naples. I loved the large old windows with view of the street square. We felt the area was safe and lively, the breakfast was great, and the staff was friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Yes, I would recommend this hotel.

I stayed for 4 nights in a double room. Room clean and in good condition, bathroom freshly renovated. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Hotel is well situated (view on quiet piazza), close to all the sights in the history centre. I would return to this Hotel anytime and can recommend it warmly.

Simple room but cofortable enough for a short stay. Very friendly and welcoming staffs.
Great location right in city center, but due to that bit loud at night.

Well it is Naples, the graffiti everywhere leaves no doubt that it is a struggling town, and that's tagging not street art. Recommend getting the hotel to arrange you'd pick up as it could be difficult to find, 10c needed for the lift but the hotel happily supplies these once you get there. Staff are friendly, helpful and hard working. Place is a bit shabby a needs a bit spent on it to smarten it up.

Nestled in a lively piazza, Hotel Maison Degas is a comfortable, friendly, and well-located hotel. While we were just there for one night after a long flight and drive, we felt like we were in the heart of Naples. The room was comfortable, the staff was pleasant, and our evening walk was lovely, with many excellent restaurants nearby. If driving, be sure to have a detailed city map, and plan your route in advance. Driving in Naples is an adventure, to say the least. However, the hotel was worth the drive.

The Hotel Maison Degas is in a wonderful location in the historic part of the city. The staff is friendly and knowledgable, and speak many different languages. When we checked in, we were given a cold bottle of water and some pastries. While we munched our treats, the woman who greeted us gave us a map, a thorough explanation of the area and the sights along with tips for the best pizzerias and restaurants. Breakfast was good -- pastries, ham, cheese, cereal, coffee, tea, and juice -- very European. Our room was clean, comfortable and quiet. If you are going to Napoli for a few days, this hotel is perfect. We walked everywhere, but the Metro is nearby. Be sure to check out the Toledo station. Quite beautiful.

The hotel location is excellent, being within walking distance of the old town centre, museum and churches. Good restaurants nearby for lunch and dinner. The hotel is quirky, rooms were big and comfortable enough, but could do with a decor make-over, breakfast was excellent and the staff were very helpful. Secure parking was arranged for us, about 8-10 mins walk from the hotel. The only downside was the macerator unit in the bathroom which was really noisy when you ran any water. I would stay here again.

Real friendly place to stay the staff were very helpful. They helped us alot to map out and find places we wanted to visit. Breakfast was more than enough to set you up for the day and more than that the prices were affordable plus you were close to the main sites of interest.I would certainly go back again because they really made you feel welcomed.

the hotel is Tucked away safety in its own courtyard. The accommodation is run by young professional staff only too happy to help with the best places to eat and how to get around. Excellent value for money. Take the city sightseeing bus just metres from the hotel to get your bearings around the city. Use the bus ticket for 24 hours to get places for free. If you want to do lots of outer island trips stay closer to the marina. The hotel is In a piazza my room faced out to the piazza so was busy between (12pm to 12am) normal, as lots of eateries, shops close by. Good air con, comfy queen bed and facilities. try the daily handmade ricotta, ham and pastries for breakfast, great espresso. I spoke to a few travellers and all were happy with their accommodation in the city, the attractions are spread throughout the city so plenty of choice. Bear in mind that historical buildings have antique lifts and lots of locks this is part of the fun!!

From the moment we arrived we felt in good hands. The staff were friendly and very helpful going out of their way to sort out visits or transport. The continental style breakfast was good value. The location is excellent, the historic centre is just outside the hotel, via Toledo is less than 5 mins walk and the port (for travel to Ischia, Capri, etc) is 15 mins walk away. The room was clean and nicely presented. We had a lovely stay and the next time we are in Naples will be looking to stay here again.
