This was a lovely one night stop near the Portuguese area of Hamburg. Easy to walk around and also easy to get lost. Room was lovely and spacious. Very clean. Staff friendly only issue was the language barrier. But you can work through that.

They was heavy glue smell in hallways which was very off-putting. Thankfully smell disappeared once inside unit.

Fantastic apartment with helpful staff, lots of restaurants in a 2 minute walk away. Subway and train system within 10 minutes away.

We were unable to check in due to a fault with the online system and there was no one available at the office as it was after 5.30pm. We had to wait over 20 mins for a security person to allow us into the room. Aside from this we had a good stay and staff were very helpful.

Clipper Boardinghouse apartments are in mint condition. Smart kitchen design. Sufficient bathroom. Furniture well kept. Under normal conditions is the climate system probably well working, with the extreme temperatures we had, the apartment was still very warm… the coolong only takes of 3 degrees celcius. Parking under the building is not cheap but very practical. Receptionist was notvtoo friendly, but fortunately you can check in and out via a system in the hallway.

Conveniently located, modern, well furnished and provided, we had a huge 60mq room with all modern conforts and two balconies. Great quality-to-price ratio for a wonderful stay

The room was super nice and the late check in smooth. On the downside there is no air conditioning so it was a little too warm. Also a bit noisy since you could hear everything from the hallway and outside. The neighborhood was good and all we needed was within walking distance. Convenient parking hall right across the street.

Self check in/out was a hassle. They left me a bottle of wine, chocolate, and a German pastry for my birthday. Nice touch! That made me so happy.

Excellent location. Very nice clean apartment.
Only complaint is with the lighting. The kitchen area is bright, the sofa and bed area is dim to dark. A little more effort would be appreciated

Very nice, clean, spacious and well-equipped apartments, some in two-storys.

There are some hotels you stay at out of necessity and then there are the places you are actually looking forward to. This is one of the latter.
I've now stayed in four different rooms (including the suite) and loved them all. All of them have been spacious and the place had all the amenities I wanted.
Love the area it's situated in, that there's a parking garage, the always welcoming staff and the very nice beds.
Often, when on a road trip thru Germany, I'll gladly take a detour just to stay here. :-)

The apartment is located in a very good place where tourist attractions are nearby and a supermarket(REWE) is just 1 min walk.
The room was clean and big enough. Kitchen and cooking equipments were included so we could cook our dinner and breakfast ourselves.
The most disappointed thing is that air conditioning was not installed in the room. Since we arrived at the time heat wave just passed, it was not easy to stay without air-con.

The rooms have seen a lot of ware and rigour. Torn carpets, scuffed walls, mould in the bathroom take away from the good sized rooms and location.

The hotel is well situated close to a train station, the ElbPhilharmonie and the old Hanseatic port. We had a spacious "deluxe" room facing the restaurants on the street. It was lovely to have breakfast there in the morning sunshine. In the evenings, we closed the bedroom window to cut down on any sounds from the street. The kitchen was well equipped for a short stay. Note that they only clean the room every three days - you need to wash dishes daily to have enough for the next meal.

Everything is ok,except for the Nespresso machine which is of the most irritating type.It is possible to buy hot coffee and instant coffee in the rewe markt behind the hotel instead.

Lovely, friendly staff. The room was clean and large with everything we could have wanted. It's in a great place. Only issue was the noise at night as our room was directly above a very popular restaurant. It didn't cause too much problem but we had to play classical music on the radio to drown it out. I would recommend Hans Clipper Haus, maybe take ear plugs if you're a light sleeper.

What a wonderful place to stay. So very welcoming on arrival and receptionists throughout who were helpful and kind. The room was lovely and had everything but the finishing touch was walking into the room with music playing softly and creating a lovely welcoming atmosphere. The room was beautiful and so comfortable we didn't want to go out!! Thank you to all who helped make our stay wonderful. We will be back!

The duplex flats were great, with balcony. I had an 8-yr old daughter to entertain on the rainy weekend in December in Hamburg. Could walk to all the winter markets. Also easy walk to Landungsbruken. Nearby restaurants and well-stocked REWE a huge plus.

While the room was comfortable and nicely furnished, the service was disappointing. I was there with a colleague on business and from check-in, requested two separate bills as the costs were shared. The day before check out, I reminded the staff I required two bills and they said this would be delivered to my room later in the day. When I returned, they had printed out a single bill with only one name. The next morning, we had to rush to make our flight as we were stuck at front desk explaining that, as requested and agreed, we needed a bill with BOTH names on. It was finally emailed 2 days later. The room wasnt the cleanest (stains on bedroom wall, hair in bathtub, a lot of food crumbs on the sofa) and when the cleaning staff came to the room after a few days, they took the soap and hair shampoo bottles but did not replace them so we had to go buy our own! The location is very good but the Portuguese Quarter is loud and there is a lot of smoking and yelling, etc. so this may not be best for business or family travellers.
