Absolutely LOVED this hotel. The staff could not have been nicer or more accommodating. The rooms are beautiful. Great location and beautiful outdoor courtyard. 10/10. Beyond expectations.

To start with the positives, the location of this hotel is great for those wishing to stay in Old Town. We appreciated the ways in which the hotel has been redesigned to create a hospitality space within a property that has a very different history. We did arrive slightly earlier than check-in time and anticipated dropping our bags and coming back later, but we were informed that our room was ready and were escorted there without hesitation.
Our biggest complaint was that the building was undergoing renovations with hall carpets being pulled up. I understand that running a hospitality establishment requires maintenance and would have been less bothered by the disruption if it only occurred between check-out and check-in hours, but work started during morning hours when guests may still be sleeping. We were not informed ahead of time that we were reserving amidst a remodel and were not offered any partial refunds or courtesy items to compensate for the disruption.
The hotel does advertise their commitment to sustainability and offers for guests to forego their daily cleaning in exchange for a free beverage at their bar. In actuality, guests receive a voucher for $7.50 each, which is less than the cost of a singular cocktail and makes the entire offer feel a bit cheap given the price point of the hotel.
Other things of note: flushing mechanism on toilet broken, flickering lights in BR, stained carpet, difficulty getting replacement coffee pods, and very warm room settings

This was my fifth stay at a HdV property and my second time at this hotel. It is lovely. The service is world class. The entirety of the property was immaculate. The food was outstanding. The location is perfect, close to everything you want to see, but quiet.

Gorgeous room just newly decorated. Large room with a large en-suite with double shower cabinet and deep bath. Very relaxing.

We loved our stay at Hotel du Vin and absolutely loved Edinburgh! Wonderful location, convenient and easy to walk to everything. Enjoyed drinks in the bar with the friendliest most helpful and enthusiastic bartender. Rooms were nicely appointed and clean.
Extra bonus was that our next stop was Thornbury Castle and on the way through we wanted to see Bristol but didn't want to carry our luggage with us. I noticed there was another Hotel du Vin in Bristol and the staff were SO helpful and accommodating letting us keep our luggage at the front as prior guests which we so appreciated! Thank you!

We have stayed in Hotel Du Vin in Stratford upon Avon & now Edinburgh and the quality, cleanliness & service is always excellent.
They even left a bottle of Champagne in our room as it was my partners 50th Birthday!

Second stay at this hotel and would highly recommend. Only thing I would mention, is name of room instead of numbers, did cause some confusion with ourselves and other guests. Did not spoil anything to do with our stay though. If anything, got people talking in the bars

Wonderful stay. Very friendly and accommodating staff throughout our visit. Sublime room. Had an excellent evening meal and a very good breakfast to send us on our way. Hope to return soon.

What a wonderful hotel and restaurant, we’re always gazing from sandy bells over the road. The best onion soup, and the suite was fabulous, we loved the speakers.

Great location and a great breakfast, but the warm reception and friendly staff were particular highlights, especially the Spanish waitress on duty in the mornings.

Excellent location for visiting the sights. Very nice rooms - even standard ones and lovely very hot water. Nice breakfasts and pleasant bar area. Only slight negative is that the lighting was a little dim in the bedrooms but adequate nonetheless. A very enjoyable stay.

Great location for your city trip within walking distance of Edinburgh Castle and most attraction. Friendly staff, cosy room and very spacious bath room. Delicious dishes for breakfast and dinner. We would definitely recommend staying at Hotel du Vin.

Staff were welcoming and helpful. Great position for all Edinburgh attractions. The hotel is very well presented and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent.
Room was a little dark facing inwards to the courtyard but was quiet and we slept really well

Excellent place to stay. Super clean, quiet and a larger room than I expected. Very good location for walking and exploring Edinburgh. The French restaurant which is part of the hotel serves excellent food. Staff friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

The staff was incredible and very friendly. I watched as they dealt with an incredibly rude customer with skill and grace. They helped my daughter and me arrange a taxi on our day of departure and personally walked us to our room (which was in an out of the way location). They also helped us move our luggage from our initial, smaller room to a larger room. I couldn’t say enough nice things about Hotel du Vin (Edinburgh) and would happily return there again! Liked the ambience of the hotel - using existing and traditional buildings - and layout of the rooms, especially the large clawfoot tub. Feels like staying in a luxury traditional Scottish 'Inn' but with all the modern amenities and great service

Great location walkable from Waverley railway station and to central areas. Interesting buildings, imaginatively converted to hotel use. Had an excellent dinner and very good breakfast, friendly helpful staff throughout our short stay.
