This looks like an amazing hotel and once I found reception, through the restaurant I had a friendly welcome. However if you want a restful nights sleep I would steer clear.
The ac makes a lot of noise. I turned it off but it kept making a noise. It eventually turned off.
It turned itself on again( the noise not the actual air) at around 5.20 in the morning like the most annoying alarm clock.
I phoned reception and he managed to reset it outside my room. Just as I was was sleeping again it turned itself on again so loud.
I gave up and checked out. I told the new receptionist but they didn’t seem bothered. Save your money and go elsewhere if you want a restful night

Room was lovely good quality Teas, Nespresso coffee machine and king bed was huge and huge quality. Slept like a log.
Bathroom shower was period and characterfull.
B&O TV had amazing speakers and breakfast was excellent a-la-cart.
Cant fault the experience. Shame was a work trip 😪

Was in Room 19 which was directly above a communal seating area. Too noisy for me i'm afraid, so unlikely to return

Did it meet expectations? No.
We had prepared for a lovely bank holiday time away. The hotel are able to send loads of emails but none about the big plans its bar and neighbouring establishments have.
The result? Noise. Little sleep. Disappointment for having spent top-tier boutique prices for something that was a constant compromise.

Lovely Place & Lovely Location

Without a doubt the most unique and beautiful hotel I have stayed in and I frequently work away! I often find staff to be quite robotic when checking in etc, however the staff at No 131 made me feel valued and welcome from the first interaction.
The hotels exteririor screams class and this is certainly echoed when entering! it is quirky and there is something to catch your eye everywhere!
Evening meal in the japanese restaurant YOKU was a whole experience! the atmosphere and decor was a feast for the eyes...and then you are presented with what I would deem michelin star standard food! The kitchen was ran with precision, plating and the pass to perfection!
Thank you and I cannot wait to stay again!

Good - building, location, interior
Bad - No hot water in the morning. Staff refused to discount the room after having no hot water and only offered another room to wash in at check out. Double Superior room is two single beds pushed together, meaning there’s a hard ridge in the middle of the bed.

Great location & the rooms are very nice. We ate at the restaurant & whilst the food was good the service was extremely poor, complete lack of attention & overpriced in our opinion. Being charged a service charge was also furstrsting considering how poor the service had been. There was also unfortunately an issue with the hot water in the morning which meant that we were offered anothwr room to use in the main building to shower in before we left. This was dealt with well by the manager however it was frustrating that the alternative room wasnt offered to use as soon as we raised the issue, we instead had to wait over an hour which impacted our plans for the day. We would stay at the hotel again for the location & the bar however we would not chose to dine here again.

Very friendly, helpful staff on Reception and in the Tokyo Bar. Large spacious room and bathroom. Very comfortable bed. Only negative was the noise from the corridor, could hear everyone who walked past. Had a good discount on my stay and it was extremely good value for money.

Absolutely amazing experience. Rooms were gorgeously designed and put together. Food at the Terrace was delicious. Staff were attentive throughout. Bars in the hotel were pretty creative and efficient too.

Amazing hotel - great decor, great location being in the centre of Cheltenham with lots of bars and restaurants (and great shopping) close by. Our bed was super comfy and the underfloor heating in the stunning bathroom was a treat. The mini bar was well stocked and the staff were very friendly and accommodating- they were perfect actually. Only thing that would prevent a top mark review from our stay would be the noise - I guess it’s a great location for bars and staying on a Friday night it is going to be noisy into the early hours - but then we had the noise of the crashing of bottles first thing in the morning too which was a bit annoying. Overall a fab stay though!

Truly one of the most incredible stays I've had during my many years of travelling. The rooms are exquisite and the hotel is walking distance to main shops in Cheltenham. What truly made our trip so special were the staff - if I could give the staff and service more than 5 stars I would. They went above and beyond to look after myself and my family and were more than happy to help with my 1 year old nephew's needs (e.g. warm milk). Thank you!

Nice hotel, but very difficult to find the entrance due to the marquees erected for the restaurant and bar directly outside it. Just to note, if you have anything over a weekender size suitcase,be aware there are narrow steps and stairs to carry them up.
The room itself was stunning but unfortunately not very practical, a bath stuck infront of the window making it difficult to close the curtains or open the window for any fresh air & leaving little room to put toiletries.Tried to use the Dyson fan to cool the room down, but it didnt work.
Considering the room cost over £200+ for 1 night there was no breakfast included. Breakfast was in the outdoor restaurant so expect to pay an additional £25+ per couple.
On returning to the hotel in evening, we found the gates locked, with bouncers asking for proof we were residents. The reason for this was because the venue also has a very popular & busy bar.
Ourselves and the other couple we were staying at the hotel with wanted to have a drink in the hotel bar before retiring, however, we found the bar in the hotel closed and the only way we could buy a drink was to either fight our way through the gin bar (we gave up!) or go into the marquee bar (outside the hotel grounds) and buy a drink, then take it back into the hotel. Not very customer friendly.
On the plus side the bed, and especially the pillows, were amazing and we had a good nights sleep.
Overall because we had to pay extra for breakfast I thought it was poor value for money.

The interior was perfect however it is quite noisy as the window is not double-glazed. The staff has helped to carry to luggage to the room which was on the top floor. It will be nice if it gives a warning as there is no lift on the building. The food was nice. The services were very good. Thank you,

Read the hotel policy on weekend noise. Yes, there is one; no, I didn’t read it.
Initial impressions are great. The staff are welcoming and the classic double room was well-finished to a high standard with all amenities you would expect. In hindsight, I would have appreciated at check-in the staff highlighting the room was immediately beneath the rear bar area with a speaker by the window.
Unfortunately, this only became apparent when we returned after dinner the first night. The noise was unbearable. We were so exhausted we decided to get some room service and attempt to drown the noise with the television. Fortunately, the music stopped around 11pm and we were able to sleep.
The second night we had arrived later, around midnight, expecting the noise to have finished. Our assumption was wrong. It was at this point, after trying to go along with it by having a drink in the bar, that we raised our concerns to reception. Eventually, after being asked why we hadn’t complained the previous night, I got the man to come to the room to understand the level of noise. He was apologetic, did offer another room but by this point, the music was waning and there was no point in moving. He did, however, offer a complementary drink order - thank you.
On check out, we highlighted our concerns again. The staff were reasonably apologetic but made no effort to compensate our grievances stating “the experience isn’t for everyone”; they’re quite right, it’s not.

Excellent stay at 131. The hotel is so cosy but still with an urban chic vibe. Top quality gadgets in the rooms and beautifully clean. The service was so friendly. We got a welcome home from Filipe which was so nice. The garden bar was one of the coolest places to have a cocktail we found. All in all 10 /10.

Spectacular boutique stay in the hub of the town of Cheltenham. Whilst restaurant is a little pricey the food was stunning!!!! So much to look at and take in within the reception and bar areas. 2nights wasn’t long enough. I can’t wait to come back…different rooms to be discovered.

Stayed here for my partners birthday. we had a VERY disappointing experience at the restaurant which to be fair ruined our evening. We are not complainers at all but when my partner requested his steak 'rare' and it came out well done it was simply not something he would make do with for the price (and why should you). We politely asked for a new steak and they then brought out the most awful cut of steak almost to say F*you for complaining, he literally complained that his hands hurt to cut it haha he worked very hard for every bite.
Anyway we didnt want to complain again so just made do. Now I wish I had complained. The service from the point of politely pointing out that the steak wasnt rare, was awful. One staff member threw the bill onto our table without saying a single thing! then came back with the card machine 10 mins later and said 'ready', no ''how was everything''. Anyway we paid in full and left.
We went to reception and if it wasn't for the lovely Filipe... honestly he was absolutely brilliant... then I would have plucked up the courage to go back and really complain. He asked us how our meal was knowing from check in we were going there and we felt comfortable to be truthful and say it was really disappointing. He took us straight to the gin bar and got us a drink. Came and visited us in the garden to again apologise. Then in the morning at check out advised us that he has taken the late check out charge off. Filipe made it for us, hes wonderful

One of the most beautiful hotels I’ve stayed in. Very chic, lovely atmosphere. Staff very customer focussed.
We are in Yoku and it was hands down the best Japanese restaurant I’ve eaten in.

Brilliant stay, as always

The room was nice but the cost per night was very high for what felt like a very basic standard of room. The room was very darkly decorated making it feel very small rather than cosy.
There were stains on the carpet which let it down.
The bedding was lovely although having two beds pushed together to make a large bed wasn’t the the most comfortable nights sleep I’ve ever had.
