The rooms were rustic and the views were amazing. The dinner service was lacking. The staff acted as if our presence was an inconvenience.

The views and sounds of the ocean were beyond spectacular! Our room was very spacious and was elegant yet rustic. The bed was very comfortable. My only complaint is that we never had very hot water...it was more lukewarm. It wasnt a big issue as the outside temperature was so hot. The air conditioning was very comfortable and Terrence the manager was kind, friendly and very helpful. He arranged a ride for us to get back to Montego Bay. We very much enjoyed our dinners while overlooking the beautiful sea.

The honeymoon stay was a disaster. Hotel is not as advertised online. Only thing great about it was the sea view. The road leading to the hotel was a disgrace. Hotel and fixtures run down and dated.

This resort is like a rare gem. If you want to be in touch with nature, this is place to be. The hotel was clean, staff were extremely professional and attentive to our needs. T.J served us a couple of time in the dining room and was wonderful. Monique was very professional and communicated very well to us. Nothing we requested for was a big deal. You must get a massage from the lovely and professional Antoinette, it’s definitely worth it. We stayed in the hotel for 3 days and had a wonderful time. Thank you to the staff at Sea Cliff resort and see you again soon.

The views from our room were stunning! This is the perfect hotel for relaxation, if you're looking for anything besides that I would say stay elsewhere. We throughly our relaxing stay and will be back again!

It was the view and the staff for us. The view was absolutely amazing. The rooms were clean. The staff went above and beyond, and very accommodating. The property was also very central to mutiple attraction areas in Portland so lots to do.

The view, the food and the staff were amazing.
Thanks to Mrs Ricketts for taking such good care of us

It’s a beautiful place. But it needs to be kept better. I couldn’t eat my complimentary breakfast after spending $700 for 1 night because my eggs were full of shells. Clean up the property and hire more staff. Not worth my $700 the view is the best thing there.

A spectacular location will difficult road access makes this a bit of a get away from it all experience. In January it did have the feel of a place which was very out of season, quiet, not many guests, restaurant quite empty. We had a one night stop to visit Reach Falls which worked fine. Rooms are fairly basic but clean and comfortable.

Excellent place if you want a getaway to rest and reset. I always enjoy my stay here.

The hotel room and property were very clean. The property itself is beautiful. The air conditioning worked. They are gradually replacing the nylon ropes on the hammocks. Please be sure to get a room that has the black nylon. The yellow nylon ropes are old and fraying. The rope broke to the hammock for my room. Also, the door to the veranda came partly off the hinge, so opening an closing it was a challenge. The hinges on the door were a bit rusty, probably from sea salt. The light switch to the ceiling fan didn't stay, so we used a rubber and secured it to the light switch behind it. The menu was a bit more expensive then other hotels in Jamaica. I only stayed one night. However, the dinner we had was not edible. The cook used too much salt in meals. We didn't eat our meals. The waitress didn't take anything off of the bill either. Maybe she wasn't allowed to make that decision. I talked to the other guests they had the same complaint. Now with that being said, I spoke to the owner of the next morning before i checked out. He refunded me my dinner. We told him about the couple of things wrong with the room. He was grateful to be made aware of the issues and will be taken. The staff was very pleasant. The drive was about 2 hours from the town of Portland due to road construction. This a serene atmosphere. I would stay again once road is complete. I would give them a second chance. I think the nightly rate is pricey for what you get.

Nice getaway for my husband and I to enjoy each other’s company. We got upgraded to a beautiful room which turned our experience into a even more beautiful one. The view is absolutely stunning. We loved the sound of the waves crashing against the rocks throughout the day. The property was quiet. We called one of the hotels’ recommended tour guides and got a tour of one of the falls nearby which we thoroughly enjoyed. Only downside was limited menu options but we worked around what was there. The property and rooms are designed to have a vintage/country look and less contemporary/modern. If someone is looking to disconnect completely from the chaotic world and reset, sea cliff resort is the spot to do so.

This was a family trip. It was 5 adults and 1 child. Our stay at Sea cliff was extremely mediocre in a lot of ways. First off the roads in Jamaica are extremely bad. To the point I would dare say it should be deemed an emergency and they should have around the clock staff working to repair them. So to get there from St Thomas took well over 2.5 hours. Our check in was extremely smooth, the young lady at the desk was very helpful and informative. The rooms themselves were what you could expect at a family owned water front hotel. I’m not sure if the conditions of the rooms were due to poor upkeep or because it’s located right on the water. There are no TV’s or phones in the rooms. The bathrooms were a bit creepy but it’s to be expected because of the “vibe” I guess they were going for. The AC worked well the first day but that was all.

Wow, what a view of the ocean and the sounds of the waves crashing was breathtaking. Terrance was a great host, along with other staff. The food is excellent, you have different choices to choose from. Enjoyed the solar heated pool at night. the hammock was my favorite place to be. Can't wait to come back!

The room was filthy. The locks weren’t secure we had to use a night table to secure the door. The bathroom had mold, the floor look like it hasn’t been wipe for days. The light where I had to lay my head was full of dirt and Cobb webs. We only stayed because we arrived late that night and we were tired I immediately booked another hotel for the rest of our vacation. They offered another room in the morning but who would want to stay another night with Covid-19 on the rise and you already had me in a dirty room.

I love the unique location of the Sea Cliff hotel in Portland being on actual cliff gives you intimate connection with the sea. The staff was also alert with your every desire. Terrance, the manager for the hotel was also helpful with all our needs.

The staff was helpful and friendly.
The view from the room was breathtaking
The property was clean
Great location for exploring main attractions jb Portland
The food was good.
The aesthetic of the master room was disappointing however. They were very basic with the bare minimal furniture (literally a bed, a old
Table and chair, a hammock and 1 side table). Felt like I was staying at a church retreat and not a hotel. At least the church retreat location had an no iron, ironing board and possibly a coffee maker. I believe these simple additional appliances can make a stay away from home significantly more comfortable and are practical not excessively expensive additions. So in summary The master rooms are a bit dingy.
One thing we noted, when walking through the property we were able to view the “white room” which was much better appointed. So I give them that
All in all the hotel is a relatively decent pick, if you’re not picking about where you put your head. Had the room been elevated a bit more the hotel would have gotten nearly all stars

Rustic property. Perfect location for quality time- away from the hustle and bustle of commercial life. No television in the room. Easily connect with the sounds of the ocean’s waves hitting the rocks and the cool breeze that comes with it - no need for air conditioning! No mosquitoes!

Amazing view, Wonderful staff and will continue returning

The staff the setting and breakfast were wonderful and exactly what I needed. My only con would be for the price I would have thought the resort would have been a little upgraded old fixtures ceiling fan very old cord missing a/c a portable unit which took up valuable floor space in the room.
Small fridge would have good as well at the price

The view of the ocean from the rooms is breathtaking. This is what makes this hotel unique and special.

When we arrived, there was no one on-site to greet us. The sign that said check-in led to nothing in particular. Luckily, one of the upstairs rooms was left unlocked. We spent the night there, had a lovely ocean view, enjoyed breakfast, and headed out. This property has wonderful potential. A little fine-tuning, and it will be excellent.

The sea view was fantastic. The food was great, and the staff were very hospitable.
