A beautiful property that we enjoyed very much. We had a lovely little getaway exploring the area.

Great venue for a group getaway !

The rooms need upgrading badly! They are very run down.

A beautiful setting and grand old guest house. The in house restaurant was excellent, with very nice food, attentive service and charming environment. The vista across the golf courses from the deck is perfect for predinner drinks. We stayed in a renovated room so it was extremely nice, i understand not all rooms are renovated so you might want to confirm when booking.

We have stayed here a couple of times. We were given a VERY small room, even though the hotel was almost empty. Staff rarely there, Sadly, the place has great possibilities but very tired. It was a Sunday night, no food available. Kettle in the room didn't work properly. Everything so crowded. Staff didn't seem to care.

Quiet and clean, great for a golf weekend

The room is new renovation and plenty of space. This is a family room and very clean . But you can hear the noise from next room and the hall way . Restaurants ok maybe not enough staff ! The price just for 3 adults nearly $ 400 for just one night only. May be not next time 😕

The rooms were very dated and needed a better clean

Staff are great. Old part of hotel is comfortable but dark, dreary. New refurb is looking excellent. Location is very lovely.

I think it was last painted in 1934. The standard rooms have Double beds. Our room was cold. There was no phone in the room which was upstairs. No lift. No table or work surface or comfortable chair. The deal offered for meals and bed was limited - main plus one other course for dinner - and expensive when you look at the quality of what was offered. You couldn't use the Bar after dinner as all of the outside furniture had been bought in and stacked there.
I would never stay there again.

Great location and staff. Have stayed here before and love the old world vibe although our room was a little old and tatty. Service is great, friendly and attentive. And love the golf course, with another fantastic course (Mt Broughton) 5 mins down the road.

The staff were excellent and very friendly, the restaurant food was excellent, the only downside was a alarm beeping sound coming from outside of our room which kept us up all night (horrible sleep)

We stayed in one of the newly renovated rooms and it was spectacular. Such a lovely weekend experience. Staff were friendly, great selection of food and drinks made for a wonderful stay.

Pros: Good levels of parking out front. Comfortable beds and clean linen
Decent customer service
Cons: Room is quite small
Showers needed a proper cleaning - grout and shower door were filthy
Most importantly, the security is very lax - no video cameras in common areas or parking lot, so it won't be clear who broke what if it were tk happen. Entrance doors are made of glass with single locked door that doesn't pull shut on its own.

Well priced old world charm with lovely restaurant.

All good, nice sleep, nice heating:)

It is a lovely location and has great potential. However, they are currently renovating so very noisy. Room was the dirtiest I have ever encountered. Carpet had never been cleaned and was badly soiled. Bathroom white vanity plug was covered in dirt and more. Property needs a good manager with hotel experience to spot check cleanliness of rooms and common areas and more.

Accommodation was sub standard. Rooms were in need of renovating. On suite was not up to standard, entry door could not be closed. No exhaust fan. Room was noisy and constant water dripping noise could be heard. I would not recommend this property on our experience. Dormie house bar and dining staff very friendly and helpful.

Dormie House is quite unique if you like old buildings and love golf. The room we had was very small and the bathroom were both very dated.
Bed was comfy and he room was clean

The property was in a convenient location for our needs. The room left a lot to be desired.

The dinner was top quality and the staff that night very friendly and helpful however we were told that night that we couldn’t have dinner in the restaurant as they wanted to set up for the next day.
We had booked in for breakfast the next day and sat in the dining area where advised. We sat alone for quite some time before someone came in. We had to ask for menus and ordered some coffee. It was cold and uninviting and it didn’t help that nobody else was there. The coffee came and it was awful. We decided not to stay for breakfast as the experience was pretty ordinary and nobody was bothered enough to ask us why. We would never recommend this place to anyone. For the price we paid we would expect much more!

Lovely and quiet; loved the older building
Renovations are underway so some rooms still to be done but generally had a very nice feel
Staff were friendly and helpful

We loved the old quaintness of the house and property plus the staff were welcoming friendly efficient and professional. The meals were delicious and enjoyable. Although we loved the quaintness and comfort of the room, we found that the walls were paper thin and the noise from the other tenants was not pleasant.

No bath towels provided. No soap. Only one coffee mug provided. No WiFi connection in our room. Hotel has real potential and we understand it is undergoing refurbishment.

Great place to enjoy the serenity of Miss Vale. Beautiful period features and cozy rooms. Staff were friendly and you can’t beat the view from the deck overlooking the golf course.

Liked the fact that it had old world charm. We were in an unrenovated ground floor room that was not lacking in comfort nor charm.
The outlook to the golf course was excellent.
Downside was that timber blind in sun room was broken.

Love the charm of old style buildings and this one is full of character! Such a great location to stay on the edge of the golf course. Just remember that golfers start very early in the morning, so don't plan on sleeping in if your room is next to the practise green or the buggy shed!! Staff were super friendly and efficient, overall we loved our stay at Dormie House and would recommend it. Great value too!

Would visit again.

Nice old property with personality. However, no airconditioning in the rooms, it was terrible on a 35deg day. Very poor Wifi in the rooms.
No arrangements for making a cup of tea.

Rooms not well soundproofed.
Rooms overpriced

great spot in quiet location is very positive. rooms are now becoming dated and need a refresh.

I was in room #3, the room was very small.
The toilet was very close to the wall on the lefthand side. Making it hard for a lefthanded person.
The windows only had dropdown (broken) blinds so if you didn't keep the blinds down everyone who walked past could see straight into the bathroom or bedroom and keeping the blinds down made the room very dark.
The insect screen on the window was broken and didn't fit the window at the top or bottom.
The restaurant staff were amazing, and the food was good.

The staff were so beautiful and friendly.
Our room hadn’t been renovated yet, but it was perfectly clean and tidy.
