It’s an older resort that is updated and HUGE! Such a great family friendly resort. We can’t wait to go back!

This was our first time staying at The Abbey but most likely not our last. Facility was large and sprawling but clean, very comfortable and staff was very helpful and most friendly. We enjoyed a room overlooking the resort’s harbor and the view was most enjoyable. A thunderstorm rolled through the area our 2nd evening there and we watched its progression comfortably from our balcony with refreshments and protected from the elements from a overhang that kept us completely dry.

Weekend getaway with my partner. beautiful hotel. The spa was fantastic and the mos memorable part of the stay. Sunday brunch was amazing as well. Our AC broke but they. And and quickly replaced it. Will definitely come again

The rooms are clean and comfortable. The restaurants not so great. The grounds and common areas are also nice - the pool areas showing their age a bit. Overall a nice stay but some things could use improvements.

It was our first year anniversary. Just a little get away. It was very nice.

Is ok, but the bathroom very noisy, some fly's entering the room (no mesquite screen)
Swimming pool smile chlorine. Very confusing guidance to and from the room .

We go once or twice a year and enjoy the pool and scenery. The restaurant is good and the accommodations are nice. The furnishings seemed newer and everything worked in the room. I recommend the second floor (the first floor is more of a basement and has noise problems). This hotel always seems under-staffed. Good luck getting anyone to answer the phone.

Beautiful, quiet, relaxing. Just surprised at how great it was. We will be back.

Very nice resort, however I've don't ever recall staying at a hotel regardless of the price that didn't have a microwave.

It was good! Dinner at restaurant was unfortunately not very good. Surf and turf Friday $50 special, Filet was very disappointing and meal was not hot and very spicy.

Overall it was a nice stay. However we were really disappointed that the spa is not included in the resort stay. I understand that the services wouldn’t be included but to charge $30-$40 per person per day even if they are a guest at the resort I would have thought they would include it. The room itself was very nice, resort reminded us of Dirty Dancing as the resort in the movie lol

We always enjoy our stay at the Abbey Resort. We decided to use the special rate that was offered. Unfortunately, it must have been spring break week and it was really crowded. We always purchase the Avani Spa pass but couldn't even get into the jacuzzi because it was always full of people and even the pool area was loud/busy. We will definitely return as it is one of our favorite places, however, not during spring break.

Great experience! Many activities for children!

Had a nice time. Friendly staff, comfortable room. Enjoyed the live music at the bar on site. We walked to get coffee in our socks and water from a clogged gutter had come in and soaked the hall carpet. This morning it was the same way. I assume staff didn’t notice because they wear shoes. Still, nice comfortable place, plenty to do. You could have a great time and not ever have to leave the resort.

Room renovations are nice. Easy check in and out. Parking was great!

Had a nice time at the Avani spa, and a great dinner at the main restaurant. Rooms are ok - they have been spruced up since the last time I was there.

Stayed here in hopes of having quiet, and relaxing bday weekend. Was greeted with a long , slow moving check in line when we arrived, but nice staff. Navigating the building was like being in a maze, we got turned around a few times …I would recommend adding a few more signs around the building to help improve this. Once we arrived to our room, we noticed the bathroom door wouldn’t close due to a misaligned strike plate. We were moved to 2nd room that had the same issue. 3rd room had some kind of dye stain on the headboard, but we were tired of being moved around & opted to stay in that room for the rest of our trip. No type compensation offered for the inconveniences. Rooms were comfortable & clean otherwise. Thin walls, could hear neighbor snoring in the next room. Enjoyed the onsite restaurants. Paid $40 per person for the Day Spa experience, pool was nice, but a little chilly . Jacuzzi was nice. Himalayan salt room wasn’t working. Beautiful scenery. Im sure it’s even more beautiful during spring/summer. Despite the inconveniences, we were able to slow down, relax & make the most out of our weekend trip. I’d rate it a 7/10. Thank you.

Excellent resort location and amenities but only drawback is food. Restaurant has 1-2 items for vegetarians which is very disappointing

Nice looking property. Some areas need updating. Hall carpeting nees regular vacuuming. Good size rooms. Biggest turn off is the overwhelming smell of chlorine as soon as you enter the lobby. Disappointed that i could not get a spa appt or a day pass, one of the main reasons I booked the Abbey.

The trip started out great and the hotel was nice and beautiful location. We were really excited to ise the amenities that at the hotel during out stay unfortunately we couldn't. We were told that the hot water was not working in our room and it would be fixed shortly, which at the time wasn't a big deal.

Definitely love the lobby and having lunch at the Waterfront.
But they absolutely need more signage for getting up and down hallways to the different parts of the hotel.( and also would be nice to have a microwave in your basic room and not have to go to a different floor )Also to have more of a checkpoint at the pool as we heard groups of teenagers that were just there to use the pool and were going home they were not even staying at the hotel.
And I understand having different promotions and events but to have a kids scavenger hunt for 9:00 a.m. till 9:00 p.m. with them running all around the hotel maybe to shorten the time frame as to be considerate of other guests

We have been coming to the Abbey pretty much every year since 2007. It has been our winter getaway. We used to love the atmosphere, the customer service, and the pool at the spa.
However, this year, our experience was rather disappointing. Customer service has gone downhill. The staff working at the Abbey seemed uninterested in providing satisfactory customer service to the guests. Check-in was not a smooth transaction. We booked a room with a king-size bed but were assigned one with double beds. Eventually, after speaking with multiple people and showing proof of booking request, we were moved to a king-size. Next, we could not use the pool until the next day (we were told there was a hold placed on pool access, and to go to the Spa early next morning to purchase daily passes to use the pool). To my surprise, I was told that you have to purchase one guest pass PER PERSON (not room). That is new. In addition, each pass went from $25 per room (that is what we have been paying in prior years) to $40 per person!!! This is ridiculous.
Unfortunately, the Abbey is not what it used to be.

The only reason we chose this property was to use the spa as we were not interested in the family pool. So, we checked in early around 1 pm on a Sunday and headed straight for the spa for a day pass. They were sold out! We were told they had no idea if spots would open and to call back later that afternoon. I called twice and left messages. They called me 1 hour before closing and said we could get a pass at half price. I appreciated the discount I guess, but for only 1 hour?
Please allow for booking day passes to the spa when you book the room. However that won’t help me as I won’t be returning.
I see the remodeling that’s been done and it’s a good start. The property is very large and the way the halls wind around, it’s a veritable labyrinth when going from lobby to your room. All of that walking around revealed hallways and paint in disrepair. I’d pay more for upgraded linens and pillows. Still the setting is beautiful and unique!!

Been getting blown off since we checked in. Our room did not have a hairdryer, and there are cobwebs above the doorway to our room.

The indoor pool was really big, so you can still enjoy it even when there are a few people in it.

This is a lovely property. They have a beautiful lobby with lots of casual seating to relax with a book, computer or glass of wine. They have a nice indoor pool with whirlpool. Food at the higher-end restaurant was excellent. I would have given a five-star review except for the fact that many maintenance issues on the property are seemingly neglected. This is not meant to discourage anyone from staying at this property as it really is a lovely property. I am hoping maybe someone from the hotel will read this though. Our room had no Do Not Disturb sign so on our departure day, housekeeping came back several times, the first tie waking us up, to see if we had left so they could make up our room. After several interruptions by housekeeping, we finally asked them for a Do Not Disturb sign, which they gave to us, and then everything was fine. So, if you do not have a Do Not Disturb sign in your room, just ask for one and this problem will be avoided. Would also be nice if the housekeeping staff checked for the presence of the Do Not Disturb signs regularly. Our back door lock was broken, and our front door had a hole left in it from what looked to be the removal of a security chain perhaps. The hotel removed something from the front door but then just left a good-sized hole in the door instead of covering it with a plate, etc. It was just an eye sore. Something the hotel needs to address, as well as our other broken lock. We also noticed a lot of burned-out lights in the pool.

This is a wonderful place to get away for a couples weekend. We used the spa, pool and restaurants all a top tier experience. They also have a piano lounge in the later evening that had a great selection of music. What a great weekend!
