Ron's apartment is amazing! It is open, airy, and beautifully refurbished to keep the charm and character of the era it was built. It has the most unique and beautiful light fixtures throughout and many wonderful pieces of art in the home. The unit has wrap around porches and overlooks famous Bialik street. We made cappuccinos daily with the espresso machine and sat outside admiring the view. It was by far our favorite vacation rental we have stayed in hands down. We are VRBO owners ourselves so we have pretty high expections. We loved it so much we extended our stay to a total of 3 weeks because we were so happy and comfortable there and couldn't imagine finishing our vacation anywhere else. Ron was a breeze to work with during the reservation process and check out. He is very kind and a great host, it felt as if you were speaking with a friend during the whole process. Don't think twice about staying anywhere else. If the apartment is available on your dates, book it!

We spent five days at the Bialek Street residence where we shared the apartment with another couple. The layout of the apartment allowed for total privacy in sleeping and bathroom arrangements. The common living area was light and airy, opening up to a balcony on each side of the living room-dining room combination, We enjoyed breakfasts in this delightful area prepared in the apartment's handy and well equipped kitchen. The location of the apartment was ideal for enjoying the various things Tel Aviv has to offer. We walked to museums, craft fairs, flea markets, shopping, Philharmonic Hall, and not least of all--the beach. We were also able to walk to a nearby bus which took us to the neighboring towns of Ranana and Ramat HaSharon where we visited friends and relatives. We would stay at 18 Bialek again and are recommending it to to friends, should they travel to Tel Aviv.

The location was fantastic, the apartment large and physically as advertised. The owner and manager was helpful and on time at both opening and closing. Only negative is lack of an elevator, but otherwise a great property.

We stayed at 18 Bialik for more than two weeks and were very pleased with the accommodations, location and helpfulness of the owner. The apartment itself was clean and quiet and had all the appliances and furnishings we needed, including cable TV and computer. The listing description was accurate, the location was excellent and we spent many days just walking around the neighborhood and going to the nearby beach. We can't think of anything that was lacking and look forward to returning in the future.

This spacious apartment has been totally renovated in the Bauhaus area which itself is undergoing extensive gentrification. There is a totally new kitchen, new appliances, and new bathrooms. The kitchen is reasonably well equipped although it would have been helpful to have a microwave which is in the listing but is absent. Bialik Street on which this apartment is located is a quiet street however the facade of the building next door is being replaced because the stucco with which much of Tel Aviv has been constructed has not aged well and some mornings the construction guys started at 6 AM. If you do rent this place make sure the owner provides written instructions for everything. We met him when we arrived late because our El Al flight was delayed and it was somewhat rushed because he was leaving for the airport. He provided an overview of the apartment and some brief instructions about the TV and the air conditioning. Unfortunately the air conditioning instructions were wrong and we couldn't get it to work. He also left no password information for the wifi and failed to tell us that there is a timer that has to be turned on for the hot water resulting in cold showers the following morning. Fortunately he left a local contact who knew everything about the apartment and was able to provide the information we needed. Thankfully the air conditioning, hot water and wifi worked well once we knew how to use them. We called this to the owners attention in an email once we left and he responded that " there are instructions for everything" but not that we ever saw. The major flaw in the apartment is the second bathroom which is very small with a tiny sink, a toilet in about as much space as an airline toilet, and a shower that flooded the floor the one time we used it. The owner told us the shower is being fixed. It's also on the third floor of a walk- up which didn't bother us but would be for people who have problems with stairs. If you rent a car, you really have to park in a parking lot. There is one about four short blocks away for 25 shekels. However they have no in and out privileges so if you take the car out and then return it they hit you up for another charge. Parking restrictions are indecipherable and you will get a ticket if you park on the street. The positive is the parking lot is the next block from the beach.

I had not been to Israel for over 40 years and this time, as a VRBO owner myself, I made the decision to rent an apartment in Tel Aviv for this visit. It all starts with having a great host and no matter how familiar you are with Israel, Tel Aviv is a dynamic and sometimes challenging city. Ron, who owns the apartment, is great about giving advice, pointing out wonderful (often little known or out of the way) spots for dining, shopping, and cultural activities. He has a knack for exposing hidden treasures that make a vacation special. And while the apartment is on an extremely quiet tree-lined street, he is not exaggerating when he says it is situated in the “epicenter” of everything. You can walk a couple of minutes to the Carmel Market, the beach, the best shopping, dining and nightlife. As for the apartment itself, it is very well appointed and best of all for us, it is a classic, gorgeous Bauhaus building. I’ve always been interested in this style of architecture and I was pleasantly surprised when I discovered this apartment was not only on the famous Bialik Street, but was actually the one that I had seen a few times in architectural books I was researching this subject. When I rent an apartment, I look for three things - 1. Clean, and I mean really clean (my vacation time is too valuable to worry), 2. Location, location, location (everyone says they are in a great location), and 3. Charm, quality, and comfort (I want more than just a roof over my head). For me the two lovely terraces, one extending from the master bedroom, are just icing on the cake. This apartment gets a perfect score on all these counts. We will definitely be back when return to Israel in the future. And thanks for being such a terrific host Ron, I appreciated that bottle of wine. What a touch.

Let me start by saying my husband and I have been to Israel many times. While we have never been seriously unhappy with our accommodations, we find that for the prices we pay that in general it would be nice if owners cared more about serious cleanliness and things like providing high quality linens instead of flimsy towels and synthetic sheets which are the norm. The first thing you notice when you walk into this apartment is that it is immaculate, cleaned and cared for to the standard of a fine European hotel, and the light and openness is incredible. Next, as you move about the apartment, it is a pleasure to see fresh (I mean really fresh) full size cotton linens that were clearly imported, large fully size bright white towels with lovely embroidery (they actually gave us a set as a gift), all new furniture and top of the line appliances. And top quality mattresses, the kind you can sleep on and wake up in the morning feeling rested. The other thing I really like is being welcomed with a bowl of fresh fruit and how generous they are about sharing their collection of Israeli (and some European wines) with their guests. There are two lovely terraces and sometimes it is difficult to decide which one to enjoy, but both are magnificent spots for breakfast, dinner, or late night drinks. The husband Ron is outgoing and eager to help with everything from recommending good restaurants to arranging airport transportation (the company he uses charges about 25% less than most of the others), and he was even able to direct me to a tiny shop where I could get fresh ground cardamom and saffron. He clearly has great passion for Tel Aviv and particularly for this magnificent area around Bialik Street and is eager to share his insight with his guests. While it is a short walk to the beach, it is very peaceful and we have found this area far preferable to the noisy and unpredictable highway and strip along the sea The gardens and magnificent architecture around you make it the kind of place where you really feel at home, relaxed, and able to fully enjoy life in the heart of the city. Of course my favoritism comes out here but it is based on experience, lots of travel, and the rare opportunity to call such a magnificent landmarked apartment our home when in Israel. Thanks and we will be back!
