We often are asked, “What is Brookledge”? Great question! We are not a 5 star luxury hotel, we are a 5 tree happy to be nature getaway. If you are looking for 1,000 count sheets, concierge and fine china, Brookledge is not it. If you are looking for stars in the sky, trees and a comfy bed, that is us! Here are some things to expect Brookledge was once a Girls Camp called Girls Inc. We still have many buildings, pavilions, bath houses and trails from the original camp. When you step outside, you will most likely see chipmunks scurrying from tree to tree. They were here first, but they pay rent in acorns. You may get a sudden urge to walk on the trails. It happens, I don’t know why!?!? Why would you ever want to come here? That is an easy question to answer. You can look up at night and see millions of stars and fireflies in the field. When you take that walk, you will see deer tracks and hear the sound of the creek. The pond lovingly called the Ice Bucket will beckon you to skip rocks or possibly be brave enough to jump in. Swimming, fishing or an epic game of cornhole. Loser does the dishes! The floating dock holds on tightly to a green canoe. Time with family and friends around a campfire with S’mores of course! Visit our library and enjoy a book in our hammocks. If you are the type of person that loves flannel shirts, thinks that music with a guitar solo is a must and can’t walk past a dog without petting it then Brookledge is your place. We hope that you will not be a renter, but our guest. Pull up an Adirondack chair, grab a root beer and join us. So much love and attention to detail went into this property. We enjoyed our cozy stay in the off the grid cottage, we enjoyed the pavilion where they had games set up , cute spot to enjoy some charcuterie and wine, overlooking the pond , we are already planning our next stay.

What a perfectly lovely cabin tucked away on a serene property. It had everything you need to be comfortable in the absence of running water and electricity. The small generator did the trick for a desk lamp and remote control candles and dusk to dawn candlesticks in the windows took care of the rest of the ambiance and were perfect to come home to after dinner out in nearby Saratoga Springs or Ballston Spa. The 1 burner propane stove top was perfect for making breakfast or heating water for tea and coffee machine for java in the a.m. Our pup loved exploring the grounds and, to boot, Helen was a gracious host- checking in that we arrived safely and whether we needed anything throughout our stay. She even dropped off perfectly portioned picnic basket for us to enjoy each morning. Will definitely be back!
