It was a warm and inviting stay. The location was great, walk to town in about 15 minutes. The breakfast they served was excellent and fresh with a beautiful view. The proprietors were all friendly and helpful. The two dogs were a bonus! We were missing our pets so it was so nice to have these two friendly pups around. I accidently left something behind and they mailed it back to me in the states. I would most definitely recommendation Miztli's!

The key situation- one key would have been better but it was okay because we really enjoyed our stay.

The room and bathroom are spacious, and part of the staff is friendly. They kindly accommodated our request to have a third bed in our room, as we thought we had booked a triple room with three separate beds, and they organised transfers to and from Monteverde for us.

Of course, we did not expect a luxury resort, but we found the place in need of some basic improvements. The beds are not comfortable and the bed sheets are made of some sort of synthetic material which is quite unpleasant. The mattress cover too is in a plastic material, so every time one moves, it makes a lot of noise. Both bedsheets and towels look very tired (I almost made a hole in one of the towel while using it to dry myself!) and one of our duvet had some cuts, so the stuffing was coming out. There were no shelves or wardrobe in our room, just two chairs for a triple bedroom and two hooks, which was clearly insufficient, especially if you spend 4 nights there, as we did. We also did not like the presence of dogs roaming freely in the building, even where breakfast is served and cooked. Our room (room 4, on the first floor) was pretty noisy, as it shares one wall with the kitchen, so we were always woken up by the noise of chopping and pans moved no later than 6:30. The breakfast is good, although not particularly generous and definitely inconsistent (we noticed that some guests might have avocados with their casados, others do not ...). It is not very flexible to have to choose what you want and at what time you want it the night before, and if you want tea or coffee you are not offered a glass of juice, which sounds a bit odd in a place like Costa Rica and considering the cost of the place. This is a lodge with some potential, but it needs some revamp (broken tiles everywhere give a feeling of neglect, for instance) and to be run with more care. It did not help that one of the staff members always seemed annoyed when we asked her something.

Ein sehr freundlicher Empfang. Die Zimmer waren schon fertig, als sie ankamen. Wir haben auch ein Weihnachtsgeschenk bekommen, da wir am 24. eingecheckt haben. Eine sehr freundliche Geste in unserem Paket war Schokolade und Kaffee, was beides hervorragend geschmeckt hat. Zum Frühstück konnte man sich drei Sachen aussuchen. Wir hatten die Fruchtebowl mit frischen Früchten, Joghurt und Granola. Was sehr viel. Die Zimmer waren sehr geräumig und sauber. Es gab sehr gutes WLAN. Und ein Hotelhund

Es gab kein Fernseher im Zimmer.

The breakfast was very good, with good view. Owners are very friendly, helped us a lot with info of the roads to avoid. 2 friendly dogs available for pets. Coffee in the room available.

Only 3 parking spots. Should confirm with owner if there is enough place.

10 minute walk to town centre.

Location is on a very steep hill. Hard work dragging luggage. Basic breakfast.

The staff were friendly and the rooms spacious and clean. Breakfast was delicious. Location is within walking distance of many entertainments. My daughter especially liked the resident dogs. The place felt like home.

Lovely staff who offer lots of extra help if you anything. The breakfasts were fresh, delicious, and mostly plentiful- the pancake option is two or sometimes three smallish size pancakes and fruit. The view from the breakfast room, which you can enjoy anytime is the best in Santa Elena. Easily walk to a small soda, a small grocery, and only slightly farther to everything else. we had a car but didn’t use it, just walked. We had two rooms and all the beds and pillows were comfy and clean. Room #9 has one queen bed and a big sitting area, coffee maker, fridge and dishes, etc, but no cooking facilities or microwave. the triple room had a double bed and a single and a coffeemaker. I don’t have photo’s because it looks exactly like the photos already posted.

There is hot water, but not much pressure. I had a cold shower on a hot day and then there was plenty of pressure.

Kind and helpful staff, tasty breakfast and a delicious sandwich that was prepared for us because we had to leave before breakfast hours for a guided tour.

For the price this place is excellent. Great location, clean and safe. The best part is the staff. They were so beyond welcoming to me, my friend and my dog. Was a highlight to talk with them during breakfast and after exploring the parks. Room was very big and plenty of space for the three of us to stretch out. Dinner across the street was very good too.

There were several breakfast options and they prepared a breakfast for me to take to my room the night before an early tour. The staff were friendly and helpful in booking tours, and with restaurant recommendations. Free parking on-site. Spacious room.

It's close to town but up on a hill so walking to town is no problem but better to take a taxi back

Good sized, clean, and comfortable apartment that is well equipped with a fridge and kitchen/dining area. No cooking facilities (it wasn't advertised as such), but there were plates, knives & forks, etc. available so that I could prepare my own food, which was appreciated. There's a nice natural wooden decor throughout the apartment. The included breakfast was great. Well located for all of the main things to do in Monteverde.

Nothing really. I was a bit disturbed by howling wind on my first night but that was resolved by making sure the outer windows were properly shut.

The staff were all incredibly nice and helpful. Location was close enough to not make it a chore to go to restaurants but far enough away from the hustle and bustle of other tourists. Great breakfast and the rooms were spacious and really comfortable. Added bonus: cute and friendly dog :)

The building is very nice but details here and there shall be improved for a better comfort and a nicer atmosphere overall (decoration, illumination, common spaces). Our room (ground floor) was not the best one, but I guess it was cheaper than the others

A tricky position up a hill so quite hard work walking to town.

Large room, decent view (though the view from the breakfast room is the highlight). Clean, comfortable. Friendly staff were very welcoming of the whole family, even our little dog. Front-desk were very helpful, and recommended some good activities (including the night tour that was one of the highlights of our trip).

I wasn't able to sleep because of the noise of the wind. It shook the building at times.

The staff was very friendly and spoke decent english. (Better than spanish) The beds were the most comfortable we had come across so far. We also had a good supply of hot water for showers.
