Monastery 17 is a beautiful top floor apartment , overlooking Loch Ness , just perfect for monster spotting Sleeps up to 7 with 2 bedrooms , a sofa bed in the lounge and a fold out chair with 2 bathrooms , All linen included The main bathroom is the star of the show , As you can bath overlooking Loch Ness , it has the largest window on site for the most spectacular view . Simply Breathtaking There is also free wi-fi and BT Vision in the apartment with Netflix films The Kitchen is very compact but has everything you should need, including a cooker & hob, dishwasher, washer/dryer etc. The photos do not do it justice ! A point to note : due to the history nature of the building , there is no lift , Located within the 20 acres of private ground of St Benedict's Abbey. Our luxury holiday rental apartments overlook uninterrupted views of Loch Ness, Scotland, making them an ideal base for touring the Scottish Highlands. Activities for all the family including: Tennis Court, Table Tennis, Giant Chess, Croquet Lawn, Children's Adventure Play Area and barbecue area. This was one of our favorite stays in our whole 10 day, 5 city tour of Scotland. We'll start with the check-in process. We were met outside by a wonderfully nice woman that toured us around the grounds, showed us all the amenities, and gave us a history of the facility. The location was amazing on the shores of Loch Ness and the views from the apartment were fantastic. We loved the space and the fact that there was a kitchen and a washer/dryer in the unit. The kitchen was especially helpful since it was hard to find a place for breakfast before 9am and we were often up and out early on adventures. It was also nice having the boathouse restaurant onsite, and the food there exceeded our expectations. The character of the building was surreal, and we had to keep pinching ourselves that we got to stay there. Be warned, there are a lot of stairs, but it is completely worth it. My one complaint with the property is the queen bed in main suite is very uncomfortable...really it needs to be replaced. Since it was just my wife and I we ended up sleeping in the other bedroom with the two single beds. Otherwise, we loved our time here and it was easily one of the best stays of our trip, I'd highly recommend.

Incredibly impressive building and setting.
The apartment itself is awesome. Everything that you need is provided. The views of Loch Ness are fabulous but the view from the bathroom is amazing.
This apartment definitely has the wow factor and we were blown away by the whole experience.

A very clean, bright and beautifully located property. You need to walk up a few flights of stairs to get to the apartment but the view from the windows is well worth it. Excellent communication from the owner. A superb, place, we are looking forward to returning in the future.

Great stay in Fort Augustus. Host was very friendly and gave us a thorough tour of the facilities. The apartment is bigger than we expected and everything was clean and comfortable. The grounds and amenities are really cool and made our stay memorable. Would definitely stay here again.

the property was very clean, centrally located, quiet, and on an unbelievable piece of property. They may want to mention the 72 plus stairs to the apartment. It was fine for us but may be a little challenging for anyone with a physical impairment, especially with luggage.

You won’t regret staying here, we were extremely late checking in due to charging points being manic over the Christmas period however we were still able to check in thanks to the member of staff who stayed up especially for us to let us in. Really thankful for that after a 9 hour drive! The apartment is incredible and location perfect. You’ll enjoy your stay here guaranteed. Local pubs a must too.

We had an amazing few days in Fort Augustus and got to explore all around Loch ness and Inverness. The apartment was beautiful with stunning views over the Loch. Kids loved using the pool and we even managed to get some time in the sauna. Would 100% recommend

Me and my family stayed in monastery 17 at the highland club in Fort Augustus. The accommodation was excellent and didn’t need anything. Everything was easy to use. The views were amazing with an amazing bath!!!. It was also just a couple of minutes from the town centre. Will go again. 👍

We stayed here for the experience of being in the Abbey. Everything we needed for overnight was great. Location was great. I knew the three flights of stairs would be a challenge for me but it was worth it. We used this location as a starting off point for day trips.
Note to those searching for a place to stay—if you are looking to stay somewhere new or luxurious this is not the place for you. The Abbey is for those wanting to experience the culture of Scotland and stay in a place with history.

The Highland club is a perfect location to stay if you plan to stay on Loch Ness. The town is just right outside the fence of the Abbey so everything is in walking distance. The Fish and Chips at the Loch Inn may be some of the best we had in Scotland. There is plants of room to spread out in the apartment. The check-in process is tricky here because there are three different property management companies at the Abby. I saw many, many people confused as to how to check-in when they arrived. That seems to be universal for staying there, not just for this specific apartment. I would definitely stay here again. Such a cool spot.

We stayed in this property for 3 days and thoroughly enjoyed it. The check in process was smooth and we texted before we arrived and were met at the door. The building itself is as beautiful as it looks and the stairs aren't nearly as bad as we expected. The weather was overcast and rainly but that actually added to the overall experience.The restaurant on site (The Boathouse) is fabulous, although do call them to book just in case. They also were great at accommodating allergies (Gluten for us).
There's lots to do in the area for kids, great hikes, castles, watching the boats pass through the locks to the loch.
The only negative for us was we had no hot water for 2 days. Building management was responsive but told us they didn't have the part in stock. Totally understandable but made for some cold showers after some somewhat cold days. That said, we could have gone down to the use the showers by the pools so not the end of the world.
All in all, the emails from the owner before we arrived set the expectations super well and he was available to answer questions. Thanks for letting us stay at your property!

The Abbey Boat House is stunning location with great facilities but M17 was frankly a little tired, nothing wrong with the amenities provided (although the TV is a challenge) but the joints are opening up on many of the the walls, which are in need of a lick of paint, making the place look scruffier than it is should. Also, the bedrooms are in real need of black out curtains, being woken at dawn on holiday is not my idea of a relaxing break.

The apartment was great with stunning views across Loch Ness especially from the bathroom. The monastery itself has been converted to a fantastic facility with its swimming pool, sauna, games room and plenty to keep the kids occupied outside also.

If you are looking for a completely one-of-a-kind experience right on Loch Ness convenient to Inverness, Isle of Skye and more, this is it!! Beautiful, historic and charming. Has all the comforts of home. Just be ready for stairs!

Really enjoyed our break in Fort Augustus, the drive up from the central belt on the A82 was absolutely stunning. The building is very atmospheric abs our apartment at the top of the building was perfectly equipped. Pool was great as was the lounge/games area. Would be brilliant in the summer for kayaking on the loch etc. checking was perfect.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The location and views can't be beat. It's a short walk in to town where you can view the locks, shop and find cozy little restaurants. This property made for a very memorable first trip to the Highlands!

We had such a wonderful time here. The apartment was warm, well furnished, clean and spacious and met all of our needs. The views absolutely breathtaking - well worth enduring the stairs for. The swimming pool was a nice retreat after a day of sightseeing the local area. We felt truly blessed to have been able to stay here and will definitely be back again. The only thing that was missing was a Christmas tree which would have been the magical touch but otherwise it was perfect.

This is a stunning apartment in the most amazing location. It really has the wow factor. From the welcome information emailed in advance, to the welcome from the concierge on arrival, the welcome pack in the apartment, the facilities and location it is difficult to find fault with this apartment.
It is large and airy, comfortable, spotlessly clean, lovely furniture, free WiFi and stunning bathroom overlooking the Loch.
Once we unloaded the car we didn't use it again until we left, there was so much to do. Lovely walks around the Loch and canal, boat trips, swimming in the pool, playing tennis, playing giant chess, using the communal lounge. There is so much to do! We ate at two restaurants, the highlight being the boathouse. While icecream in the village was amazing!
The only downside was the location of the apartment on the second floor with no lift. Getting bags and belongings up the stairs was difficult and we had to do multiple trips. The stairs were hard even without carrying stuff!

Probably one of the best staycation experiences that we’ve had. The monastery was just magical I would highly recommend for families and couples alike to choose this as an accommodation for fort Augustus. The area itself was beautiful not too commercial very quaint lovely cafés and pubs and restaurants and right next to it the Caledonian canal. Loch Ness as a view every day all day. Boathouse restaurant was great really nice food I would recommend the salmon, it was amazing - we are already planning our next trip because we just want To come back

The apartment is in a lovely old building. Walking through the cloisters to our apartment was rather special. It is on the third floor and there is no lift. We knew this and it wasn't a problem. However, the height meant we had lovely views especially of Loch Ness from the claw-foot bath!
The layout of the apartment was perfect. The kitchen, in the lounge-diner, was good. TV was excellent.
The complex had good facilities. We enjoyed a game of croquet on the lawn. The gym was small but reasonably equipped. We had a niggle because the complex introduced a per person use of the pool due to Covid.
Altogether, a brilliant apartment. We'd have no hesitation staying there again.

Pretty view on Loch Ness, perfect equipt, a lot of possibilities for hiking direct from the monestary. Mike at reception is a funny and very friendly man.

We really liked staying here, the building and surroundings are lovely, although up 3 flights of stairs the apartment was really nice, especially the view from the main bathroom.
