When booking our trip we categorized our search for "whole home," as we did not want to have any share walls or properties. We were traveling with friends and an infant, so we wanted privacy and quiet for ourselves, as well as not wanting to disturb any potential neighbors or shared tenants.
Once the place was booked, we were notified that there were unit numbers associated with the rental. I asked the property owner about this, and was assured that this was a whole home. However, when we arrived we quickly realized that it was a shared home, split by a, albeit closed, wall. Fortunately, no one was staying in the other unit so we still enjoyed privacy. However, someone did show up, unannounced, to blow leaves off the roof. Which felt like a violation of privacy in our eyes.
Initially, the owner was efficient and informative with his communication. However, at night the temperature in the house became quite cold. We had our infant sleeping in our room and the room got to 65 degrees, far too cold. We contacted the owner about whether there was a thermostat in the unit -- No response. We contacted the owner again (after reading a review stating the thermostat was controlled by the owner's phone), asking if it was possible to up the temperature a couple of degrees for our child. Reiterating that we were not wanting to blast the heat by any means, but it was winter and quite cold - Again, completed ghosted for the remainder of our stay.
Enjoyed the house itself, and area.

We stayed for a week and this home was perfect for us. Super clean & well stocked kitchen supplies (instapot!!).
There was a huge yard that the kids could run in and burn off their excitement. House is set back from the road & was super quiet. We all slept great.
Looking forward to coming again!

Quiet and clean property with beautiful surroundings.

We appreciated the clean house and early check-in.
The problem was the house was not advertised correctly. There was no place for our adult son to sleep. The listing was corrected the day we checked out.
There is no thermostat control in the house. It was too hot when we were sleeping and cold during the day.
Portland was experiencing colder than normal temps. We called the host to locate the thermostat and that’s when he told us that he controlled it. I feel this is a big inconvenience and should have been noted in the listing.

This little gem was perfect for my stay in Portland! Convenient location, only 20 mins from the airport with loads of shopping and restaurants nearby. The kitchen was fully stocked w everything you need to cook there, including coffee & filters! Dann was easy to communicate with and very responsive to my needs! Highly recommend!

Property sits back off the road and is a large home that is divided into two units. With two bedrooms and an office it was perfect! The property was super clean and welcoming. Check in and out was easy. Thank you for the wonderful place to stay!

Property was very clean, quiet and in a nice quiet neighborhood. Best equipped kitchen I’ve ever had in a rental. Would definitely rent again

Came to Portland for a wedding and it was great

The place was beautiful. It was clean and spacious. I wasn't sure if they supplied garbage bags, laundry soap, etc, (as there were empty bottles etc.), so I did purchase my own. There was food in the refrigerator that wasn't ours which tells me the cleaning service isn't doing their job. I would not expect to open a fridge any where (accept my own) and find food from previous renters. I would give this place a 5 star rating if not for the beds. The queen was hard as a rock and the double was a wee bit softer. We were exhausted from lack of sleep. I would gladly recommend this VRBO to others but because of the beds, I don't feel it would be fair.

We had a great stay at Dann's property! We misunderstood and thought this was a whole-house rental, but there are actually 2 adjoining units to the property. This was not an issue though and we had a very comfortable and peaceful stay. Kitchen was well equipped and we cooked and ate breakfast on their island for all three mornings. We hope to get another opportunity to stay during our next visit to the area. Thanks again!

The property was in a secluded location, set back from the road. Everything was lovely and clean; the beds were super comfortable. The kitchen was very well equipped with appliances, utensils, crockery and silverware.
Dan responded quickly to any questions. We'll definitely be staying here again. The price was highly competitive and worth every cent.

In town for a tri-state soccer tournament. We loved this calm and spacious retreat in the relaxing privacy of mature trees and hedges - absolutely perfect to decompress after our high-energy, aggressive soccer games! Very clean, well appointed kitchen, cozy and comfortable towels and bedding to sink into and enjoy the peace and quiet. All of our team families staying at a hotel we're super jealous of our choice to get a vrbo and avoid the chaos. Would definitely stay here again.

We had a great stay. I think this property is a new VRBO so the owner is still figuring some things out. A little sterile and in need of some supplies and warmth but super clean, nice quiet residential neighborhood, and easy parking and access. We wished there was some outdoor seating to enjoy the beautiful yard and maybe some more seating in the living area for movie watching. A pull out couch or futon in the office would allow more flexible sleeping arrangements. These are just suggestions, though. The property was exactly as described and we would definitely stay there again when visiting family in the area. Thank you!

What a lovely property! Situated on a quiet street in the town of Milwaukee with many families taking their weekend strolls- we certainly felt part of the community. Be sure to check out downtown Milwaukee farmers market and the food truck area.
There are two VRBO units on the same property. We did feel we had plenty of privacy. There was a family staying next-door, but they kept very quiet and we never saw them. The only reason we knew they were there was because their car was in and out of the driveway. Our unit was modestly furnished, very clean, and spacious. Easy communication with our host. My only comment certainly not a complaint, was that the gardeners showed up on Saturday. It was a warm afternoon so we had opened the windows. The minute we saw the dust flying we closed them all fearing a dust storm on the beautiful hardwood floors. So just be aware gardeners arrive Saturday afternoon blowing dust everywhere.
An enjoyable, relaxing stay. We will definitely be staying on our next visit to Milwaukee.

We actually live in the area, but needed a place to stay while we had a small remodel project being completed. The house is great, very peaceful and open. The host was fantastic, very helpful, very quick to reply to any questions I had. Nearly wish our house project went a little longer so we could've stayed longer.

This was a great place for a weekend trip! Very close to lots of things to do!
The property was nice and clean and well taken care of!

This was a very clean, updated place to stay. It was also tucked away in a quiet neighborhood with plenty of privacy.
The A/C for unit 1 is controlled remotely, but the host quickly replied and adjusted the temperature when I asked for it to be a bit cooler, so this was not a problem at all.

This weekend, we traveled from Indiana to Portland for a family wedding. The host was very prompt and we felt very welcomed upon arrival at the property. EXTREMELY PRIVATE LOCATION AND FAMILY ORIENTED NEIGHBORHOOD and that deserves a bonus rating. This is the perfect place for family who need a place like home that feels like home when away from home. We were rarely at the property during our stay, but when we were it felt nothing less than our own home. Very much appreciated and would book again 100%.

We appreciated most of all Daniel’s efforts to communicate clearly with us. The property was clean and suited our needs. I would suggest adding a kitchen sink in the kitchen “counter” area, or at the very least replacing the bathroom faucet with a taller one so that there is more than a few inches between tap and sink. The bedroom upstairs was an adventure, but home was snug, quiet, clean, and cozy.

We were probably only the 2nd family to stay here and so there are a few things that could be improved on but nothing that made us say "why did we pay for this?" The property owner was very nice he rushed over to make sure the heat was working when I had messaged him about it being cold. Which by the way just message him he can adjust the temperature from his phone don't look for the thermostat lol. There needs to be a few more window coverings in my opinion. But overall it was in great shape in a nice area and if in the area we would defiently stay again.

We assumed we were the first tenants to rent this property. The owner was very accommodating and kind! It seemed as though this space was just renovated so we noted some small changes that would make it an “A+” stay for the future renters:
1. The queen bed was extremely firm and uncomfortable (a mattress pad would be much better to add on, as it was hard to sleep in)
2. There was a strong lack of utensils and cooking materials (no wine opener, only a few dish washing pods, no trash bags, only three forks)
3. There was a t.v but no living room space.. we had to rearrange the furniture to have the couch in front of the t.v (we thought it might be nice to have the t.v in the office space, making a cozy media room)
4. The couch/ fouton was very hard and uncomfortable, a sectional in the office space would be super cute!
5. There was no dining table (that could be a lovely add on for where the t.v currently is)
Overall we were pleased with the price and property, itself! We said we would give it a “B” for the improvements listed above. Our family left happy and pleased with the owners communication.
