No breakfast was served. Staff very friendly

The beds! We have sleapt on strait iron for 3 nights!!! We were locket up during the night. The only way in or out was via the fire escape door. I think the british fire brigades would also not agree with this. If during a fire that door was blocked, we would have been trapted. The reason they gave was: if they left the the door to the main hall open, we would have had axes to the bar/pub. Well then, close the door to the bar/pub! On the booking page housekeeping was mentioned. We have not seen them for 3 days. We had to ask for toilet paper, an extra cup (we were with 3 persons, not 2). Tea bags, towels. The room probably had not been vacumed for weeks, dust threads were hanging underneeth the radiator.

Exceptional quality room for the price and the staff were really helpful. Very pleased.

We liked staying here as it was close to the places we wanted to visit. We are from New Zealand and wanted to visit various places where our ancestors lived 250 years ago.

We had a little trouble when we wanted to leave. We had a lot of travel and so needed to leave around 8.00 am. When we came downstairs we couldn’t get through the double doors. We had been told about the back exit, but thought it was only to be used in the event of a fire. It would be good to clarify this issue for future guests.

The room was incredible. Just so lovely and aesthetically pleasing.

The fact it was room only was a little awkward. As the check out being 11am when the place doesn't open untill midday, meaning you wouldn't stay until 11 as you need breakfast.

room was immaculate. decor was lovely! bar downstairs had such friendly bar staff and food was so nice we will use this hotel going forward when we need to visit family
