About this cottage rental

Step back in time and unplug at Pine-No-More, an adorably rustic 1930’s cedar shingle cottage tucked beneath tall white pines on a .5 acre lot in a residential neighborhood within walking distance of Webster Lake. Cozy up by the woodstove or relax in the hot tub on the enclosed porch after hiking, skiing or snowmobiling. The Northern Rail Trail is 2/3 mile away is great for cross country skiing and snowmobiling. 30 mins to Ragged Mountain for downhill skiing. Great for couples or a small family The space Simple, small, retro-hip, and comfortable. Barely bigger than a tiny house at 600 square feet (including the lovely 200 square foot screened in porch), but just enough space to relax. With a few hints of rustic luxury, you might consider a visit to Pine-No-More "glamping." Get a great night sleep on a queen-size organic bed with 2 all-natural toppers (one latex and one feather) and 750 thread count sheets. While we will provide you with some creature comforts, please keep in mind that the cottage is intentionally simple and rustic. For example, we keep it very tidy, but because we are in the woods with an airy full screened in porch, some spiders might make their way in. Heated by a small wood stove, come ready to chop some wood. In the winter, be prepared for some chilly mornings before the wood stove gets going. There is one small bedroom with a queen bed and an adjacent bathroom. Two futons available also, one In the living room, other on screened porch. The small (1/4 acre) wooded lot is in a residential neighborhood, but still allows for relaxing on the porch and in the yard. There is enough space that kids can make tree forts and adults can watch while reading from the screened in porch. If you choose to sleep on the porch in the summer on the futon bed (2nd bed option), you may be lucky enough to hear the late night barred owls or the early morning loons. We encourage our guests to unplug from technology during their stay, and play cards, cribbage, chess and board games, so we intentionally do not offer wi-fi internet. However, if you prefer not to unplug, we can arrange wifi for your stay. Dogs are welcome! Guest access Two local micro-brews in the fridge Campfire ring Electric Hot tub on the porch for use (included). AND/OR Wood-fired Cedar Hot Tub (available March-November). If you would like to use the tub, a one-time hot tub use fee applies of $150. We will prep and pre-heat it for you (It takes 5-6 hrs to drain, clean, refill and heat). Fee also includes wood for hot tub during your stay (which is a lot, especially in the Winter). If you prefer to use the wood-fired hot tub and just pre-heat it yourselves, the fee is just $100. --- Let us know at booking if you're interested in wood fired hot tub, and if you want us to pre-heat it, or if you'd like to do it yourselves. * Canoe and Kayak rental and delivery available (at local shop or with us. Please inquire about rates) Zipline Indoor and Outdoor Showers (outdoor shower only in the summer) Coffee, Tea and Hot Cocoa Some basic cooking supplies Other things to note Dogs welcome. $100 per stay. (Dog treats included!) If you book October-April, the only heat source is a wood stove. We did just fully insulate the cottage, so it holds the heat well. That said, for winter bookings, we prefer guests who are familiar with operating wood stoves and are comfortable chopping wood. It can get chilly in the mornings before the stove gets roaring again, so please bring sweatshirts, hats, and warm socks. Bring your fire-building skills! Also, in the winter, we need to increase our rates and minimum length of stay due to heating costs and additional prep to get the cottage ready. (Water must be turned off and pipes are drained in between stays, and additional work to chop wood for heat). From March -November, if you choose to use the wood-fired hot tub, we will apply a one-time, $150 fee and we will pre-heat the wood-fired hot tub for your stay. Cost covers wood for our stay (uses a ton of wood!) Initially, it takes four or five hours to heat up, but once it's heated it stays fairly warm and usually takes less than an hour to heat back to soaking temperature. Refrigerator available, but freezer is not. Consider bringing extra beach towels. If booking with another couple, or a group of more than 2, please note that the bathroom is adjacent to the bedroom, and can only be accessed through the bedroom. For additional guests, we can open up the rustic loft upon request for and additional fee. (We normally use for our personal storage, but if you have a group coming and are interested in the loft for additional sleeping space, we can move things around and make it available for guests). Let us know if you are interested and Happy to send pictures and work something out.
