Northstar shoulder seasons are typically the end of the ski season through late June and after Labor Day through mid-November. During this time the resort and village amenities may be limited. The NPOA Recreation Center provides guests with access to three pools (lap pool open year-round), two hot tubs, dry saunas, a fitness facility, tennis and pickleball courts, basketball, kids' playground, massages, and summer activities for a daily guest fee. There is an extensive hiking trail system throughout Northstar and the surrounding areas, accessible in the summer from the property's backyard.
