This house was truly a home for our family! The place is warm and welcoming and so comforable. The front porch welcomes you into the place with a great entryway, more than enough hanging space in the wide closet, and even a bench to help with winter boots and shoes. The first floor is almost all open to the huge, totally outfitted, gourmet kitchen. There is a very cozy, comfortable sitting area at the front portion of the house; the twelve-seat dining table is adjoining and perfectly positioned to be able to converse with the cooks in the kitchen, or the others enjoying drinks in the sitting area. The back portion of the house includes a full bathroom and a secluded bedrooom off the kitchen. There is also a delightful library area with a big-screen TV surrounded by a flexible, sectional seating area. The library is full of books for all ages, every game you could imagine, and also a very convenient coffee-bar with a burr coffee grinder, a gourmet coffee maker, and a water kettle--and even a sink to help with water and clean-up. The bedrooms on the second and third floors are spacious, well-appointed, and even had convenient phone chargers. The bathrooms are all very functional with showers and even additional spray heads for convenience. Our stay included quite a bit of rain and cooler temperatures, but the house gave everyone plenty of space to spread out and relax in warm comfort. We went on a variety of hikes on nearby trails and even along the ocean.

We were a group of 4 couples sharing this charming home. We came at the beginning of a forecasted hurricane/tropical storm. Prior to this, Ali knew I had concerns and was willing to accommodate us in case we changed our dates a bit. We came as we’d planned and only experienced the internet going down at the house a couple brief times and some spots in town were closed due to power outage so inconvenience was minimal. Our house never last power. The church we attended across the street did but not our house. Everything was well stocked, especially the kitchen! There’s a table big enough for all of us at meal time and for playing games/cards. The bedrooms are very spacious and we all loved the mattresses as they were very comfortable! Each couple had their own bathroom. That’s important to us. The owners checked in with us by text daily to make sure we had everything we needed. They answered any questions we had promptly. We had a wonderful vacation in Bar Harbor!
