Seems to be party atmosphere
Many people smoking pot and loud music on beach
I know the hotel was sold and was supposed to torn down for larger complex and was rejected by council
We have stayed there many many times when Ms Hemsley owned it and would see her with her dog
However, if hotel is to stay as is much maintenance work up grades and paint required
The years of use and weather has taken a beating on facilities
Probably won’t be coming back
But have enjoyed the memories there when hotel was in better shape
Keep it like old Florida but please fix it up

Beach was nice. Very laid-back enviroment which I loved. They enforced NO LOUD MUSIC on beach and around pool which was exceptional! Water was provided which is a bonus. People stayed in the pool late and we weren’t kicked out….very nice touch!
AC broke the last night I was there and it was hot. They ran out of fans so it was more comfortable to just lay outside by the pool. Elevators are down to one and it is slow.

Run down and a little dirty

I did not try the meals.
Although its an old building, its cozy and comfortable without luxuries, remind me of old times... better than 5 start for the purpose: Enjoy a gorgeous beach! Thank you

The beachfront room we had was very clean, comfortable and spacious.
The hotel's location is wonderful and the staff were very polite and helpful. The shuttle service to St Armand is very useful too (excellent drivers).
Beach loungers and sun umbrellas set up quickly.
Restaurant food and service were reall very good.
The room bathroom was small and in need of upgrading.

The staff and location we wonderful!!!
Our room was dated. We were supposed to have a king size bed but instead had a king headboard and full sized or queen mattress. The air conditioner did not work well and the room was warm, damp and humid. We slept poorly because of the poor air conditioning.

I loved the view and how quiet it was. Everyone was very polite
The toilet barely flushed and there wasn’t a microwave in the room.

Location the best. Loved the beach access and didnt have to fight the spring breakers. Comfortable bed and room! Breakfast delicious. Free water in the room was a plus.

The food was delicious, fresh, hot, great buffet, reasonably priced.
The manager young man was super courteous, always helpful, great personality.
Our waitress , JOY, was the best in serving, conscientious and always with a smile. All the waiters and waitresses were joyful and wanted to please us!

not much. it was not clean and except for the check in staff who were very nice, it was a very bad experience. the tiki bar staff was very rude and the cleaning crew was loud and constantly just hanging out in the hallway. the room was exceptionally dated, wallpaper was pealing, lamps did not work, sheets were stained, and we had a gulf view balcony that I’d you say in the chair you could not see anything. my 16 year old begged to let her stay in the truck for the night!
old, dirty, poorly maintained.

The staff, including the housekeepers were excellent. They responded to any need in in record time. The facilities definitely need upgrading. The rugs in particular are pretty bad. The beds are excellent towels., Water, and so forth were plentiful.

Access to beach is the best thing about the property. Pool bartender served great drinks and restaurant had some of the best calamari and mango habanero wings. Location of room was a plus since it was close to pool bar but still tucked away .
Water only got a little bit warm so showers weren’t enjoyable and also the room temperature was warm even after turning down the thermostat numerous times.

Location is great, beach is beautiful.
toilet, shower and mi to wave didn’t work. we were charged a resort fee to cover things like coffee but the rooms and lobby were out of coffee. Cleaning sub par, hair in the shower and on sheets, toilet would not flush but once every 10 minutes. sink was clogged and would not drain. Maintenance tried to fix but no luck. microwave kept tripping breakers so could not be used. marginal adequacy.

Great facilities for the beach. Suprisingly good food and bar.
Some things are a bit worn out, but it was merely cosmetic. Everything worked well.

The breakfast was good. The beach was nice and pool appeared clean. Housekeeping was helpful
Expected to check into room before 4pm as indicated by email we received stating 1pm. Once we were checked in to room 123, the room had an overwhelming marijuana smell. Everything smelled of marijuana. Contacted front desk and was told that medical marijuana was not something they could control, despite the resort is 100% non smoking. After continuing to express our displeasure over the room, we were finally given another room to stay in. The value of the rooms and the resort did not meet the expectations of the price that was charged. The pictures and publicity of the resort did not measure up to the actual resort. The resort is in desperate need of serious repairs and upgrades. It is stuck in the 90's.

my TV was out of service for both nights. TV was on at the tiki hut right outside the door to my room. I asked numerous times to have it fixed and staff and maintenance both said it wasn't their job, it was comcast. If TV was on in other rooms of the hotel they should have offered to move me. I paid almost $300 per night and I had booked for 8 nights. I was there to get away from my park in North Port which was devestated by hurricain IAN. I checked out after day 2.

I liked the location, and the staff were very inviting, kind, understanding, and helpful.
I'm pretty sure everything in the room was placed there in the 70s and hasn't been changed since. We were expected to share the balcony with our neighbor, using a door that was also from the 70s.

The pool, dining and beach facilities were very nice, but the rooms are old and run down.
The rooms need upgrading.
