Wouldn’t stay here again.

There was a nice set up if you have a large group.

The hot tub that I asked about was not working. The pool not heated. The room was filthy. I went and bought cleaners, to make comfortable. There was ZERO. Privacy. I could not even leave my bathroom without making sure I was clothed.

Disappointing

The breakfast was good. But taking into consideration the cleanliness of the rooms, wonder how clean the food preparation area was.

We were moved to a new room after reporting the condition of the first room. The rooms smelled. The air conditioning needed to be cleaned. In the first room the filter was absolutely filthy. In the second room there wasn’t even a filter. The dust was thick. In the second room it didn’t even seem to be vacuumed between guests. Cracker on floor. We did provide feedback to the property directly. Hoping that they will take the feedback and address tge cleaning. Had stayed at this property multiple times in the past. Such a disappointment. I know it is challenging to find workers. Maybe that’s what happened here.

Decent experience.

The room was cozy and decent. View was ok. The trees we’re blocking some of the view. Staff at the breakfast were not on top of the needs to that needed to be fill out like clean plates, coffee, etc. But overall it was an okay experience.

I mean it wasn’t horrible but it wasn’t the best either.

Hot full breakfast. Close to sights. Beautiful views.

Loding is expensive everywhere but this location was lovely.

Very difficult to rate as this was a short stopover to our final destination.

I was very satisfied overall with our accommodations. The view off our balcony was beautiful. It would be a great family place to stay because of all the outdoor activities offered. The breakfast was very good.

Consider your stay at this property. In my opinion it is way overpriced to what they offer for accommodatin there.

I am usually not posting reviews since most of the time I agree with the opinion of others, but this time I feel that I have to say how it really is at Ocean Gate Resort. The pictures on the website are misleading. The rooms are not looking like that. I payed for water front room with private balcony, and the room was. just awful. Black mold on the bathroom selling and in corners of the bathroom as well. My room was on the grand level in brick building. Very very dated and old dark room. The door were hard to close or open, frames were very rusted.

Passable

Our view was gorgeous there was a lot to do right at the resort and staff was friendly

I was not able to take a hot shower all weekend. We got 2 minutes of Luke warm water if we were lucky. There was little centipedes on our bathroom floor in the corner along with cobwebs and one of the outlets behind the bed was hanging out of the wall.

The ocean view, hot tub, rooms were really nice.

Hot tub should have a gazebo or canopy above it when it rains.

Beautiful surroundings but a very old place.

The view from our room was beautiful. The resort is way back in the forest. Beautiful surroundings. The breakfast was the best we have had on our trip, everything you could think of. Beds were very comfortable. Great water pressure. Room was quiet except when the neighbor showered.

Mostly clean but very old place. Didn't quite look like photos. The door frame was completely rusted around. There were cobwebs and spiders and even a worm in the bathroom. No fan in the bathroom. Paint was scratched and peeling in room. The neighbor's shower was so loud we couldn't hear the TV. No hot water for a long time after the first person takes a shower. Bathroom sink was a pedistal with no room for anything. And it moved. No microwave. Breakfast was up a steep hill so had to drive to it. Room was not worth the price paid.

Lovely resort out in nature but a short 10 minute drive into town.

Beautiful setting. Has many amenities (bikes, kayaks and canoes, mini golf, outdoor hot tub) that we didn’t take advantage of due to lack of time. Has a “real” complimentary breakfast consisting of scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, toast, bagels, sweet stuff, fruit, dry cereals, hot oatmeal packets, OJ, cranberry juice, coffee and tea.

Would have liked a microwave in the room. There was no daily housekeeping but you submit a list of what you need and it is quickly delivered to your room.

Nice location but the property needs to be updated

I really enjoyed the location and our room was an end unit overlooking the harbor. We woke up to seals swimming by which was great! They also include a buffet breakfast which I'm not usually a fan of, but it was really good. We enjoyed the hot tub every night. The included picture is the view from the room.

Now for the things that need attention. I think the rooms need to be updated stat! We went in September so we knew it would be a little chilly but there are no thermostats., you need to find each electric heater and adjust it that way. Also, both heaters felt like they were gonna pop off the wall. The bed seemed comfortable but you could tell it needs to be replaced. If they were to remodel, this place would be a hidden gem.

Breakfast was very good, loved the outside eating area, loved that kayaking/canoeing was so easily available (and included!). We had a wonderful water view. Location very good to town. We would come here again!

Lovely location with a view but no service.

Great view.

There's was basically no service. No maid service, no replacement of breakfast food or coffee when empty, and no towels at the pool, both times we went, with no one to get them from. When we asked for a recommendation for dinner at 7 pm our first night, we were told to go to one restaurant, no reservation needed. When we arrived at 7, they were not taking customers and closing soon.

The breakfast was excellent and management was great. The view from the room was very nice and the manager was very nice. The room was not quite what we had expected from what was pictured on line. The room was clean and ok size, but the bathroom was very small and the room needs a little updating. The description says there is a coffee pot, but in reality there is a small cup heating apparatus. I would like to see possibly having some plastic eating utensils left in the room for when you might bring take out home to your room.

The price was a little high, coffee maker, small bathroom, the pathway to the stairs was a little iffy and the broken curtain

Disappointing

Location was pretty and breakfast was decent although very monotonous for a 4 day stay

Overall the resort is very run down and the room are dark and depressing. Not enough light to apply makeup. The TVS are old and don't support streaming. Lack of housekeeping was a negative. I understand that in the height of the pandemic many hotels suspended cleaning services, but it shouldn't be a permanent thing, perhaps it should be available if guests are comfortable with it. Most hotels are back to providing housekeeping in my experience.

very nice location, not much to do once your there

Secluded location, on the water

At night, very very dark, no lights along paved driveway areas, no lights by the pool & mini golf. such a huge property & such a small pool, could not swim over crowded with small children. Could not play basketball, both backboards were broken, they looked like they were falling off & that they have been in this condition for quite some time. Lawn area by the tennis/basketball court under utilized. Could be a great volleyball area. Got tobreakfast at 9:00am there was no bacon left, two sausages & several spoon full of scrambled egg left. Waited 5 minutes, no one came out from kitchen to check, we left & had a wonderful breakfast in Boothbay Harbor.

Enjoyed the area, the quiet and getting to spend time with family.

I liked the view from the room, the room was clean and offered what was expected for amenities. Breakfast was close by and was good each day. Although I didn't use, the use of canoes and kayaks was great for the grandkids.

Pool could have been a bit cleaner and had steps to enter and not just the ladder. Hot tub wasn't clean enough either. When eating outside there were a lot of wasps flying around which also made it into the breakfast room. First day, the air conditioner could not keep up with cooling the room. Would have been fine if they had let it run all day, as the temps were quite high. After that it worked fine.
