Wonderful stay for a family!

Great children’s program with booklet of activities and amazingly kind staff leading lei-making and other cultural activities. Really terrific. The restaurant overlooking the beach was delicious and beautiful. We enjoyed the music and hula dancing very much.

It was wonderful, but too pricey in the end.

Nice hotel in a great location.

The hotel was in a great location for what we wanted. The staff were friendly and gave us some champagne as we were celebrating getting married.

The property feels out dated, but this could be our preference. Also renting a sun lounger on the beach seems a bit over the top.

Beach access was right there. Incredible views. Very nice valet and front desk staff.

Prices for extra services were in higher side. Room cleaning times were very inconsistent. need microwave in room to reheat leftovers.

Cabana rentals are a great bonus. Hui Hui restaurant with ocean air and views has a great lunch menu. Even a hamburger is specially prepared. Great service. Reception desk is friendly and helpful. Cultural offerings are unique to this hotel. Trilogy Catamaran pick up on beach for whale watching and snorkel trips is really fun. Best bang for buck on hotel rates. We've stayed here many times and never had a complaint. Mahalo!

awesome value, super clean room, fantastic location

location was perfect - we walked daily, everywhere between black rock and the Westin - whalers village just steps away…perfect!

the pool area needs to be updated. new chairs and some attention to the pool deck - nothing major, just needs an update. I typically stay with Marriott/Hilton/Hyatt - but this trip we went with this location due to a recommendation from an acquaintance. so happy we did! fantastic value, awesome staff, great location.

Beautiful scenery, wonderful people, a great birthday celebration!!

Beautiful area, grounds were well kept, food was excellent at Huxhuh restaurant. Had a partial Ocean view room, with balcony. Sounds of waves crashing ashore at night were a great sleeping pill. Housekeeping was excellent. All staff were cheerful, easily accessed if needed.

The was absolutely nothing I didn’t like. It would have been nice to have more food options. But understanding the staff shortages, they did a remarkable job. And many other options were within walking distance.

Superb

The beach location is definitely the best on Kaanapali Beach. The beach is accessible and large. Not much shade in the area. The view from the balcony was breathtaking and the room itself was spacious. They even sent up champagne for our honeymoon!

Huihui restaurant on the resort property had difficult hours if you wanted to sleep in, you would miss the breakfast open hours and would have to wait until lunch for the restaurant to reopen which was inconvenient and the presentation of food was sloppy (ie avocado toast special had barely any avocado and it was thrown on the plate)

loved it, felt at home and more connected to Hawaiian culture - not a generic resort

great location, great for families, loved the staff who shared and conducted the cultural workshops, would be nice to have more affordable eating possibilities, though. Especially loved the cultural authenticity and the grounds were lovely.

Unforgettable

The location, right off black rock and close to restaurants and shopping at Whaler’s Village. ALL the staff was just incredible, it made it even more wonderful.

Their restaurant on site is always booked up for dinner, I wish they would at least allow their hotel guests the chance to be a walk in.

Watching the sunset from our table eating our diner with music and the dancers was truly paradise.

The surrounding grounds gave you a true flavor of HI, unlike the manufactured Disney like feel of the Westin, Sheraton and Hyatt properties.

Pricing is out of control.

It was ok.

Close to everything. Housekeeping was good and helpful… responded quickly.

No towels at beach hut and was told by staff there it was after 4 pm so they wouldn’t have given me any because they were closed. It was 4:02 and that was rude. no beach towels all week after 10 am. Also asked about the cabanas… apparently you need to book them a month or two before your stay.

Very good

Room was dated but clean. View was excellent. Beach is excellent. Location is great place for families as walking up and down the boardwalk gets you access to other beaches etc.

Dated rooms and lack of activities for children but this isn't a major problem.
