it works for our intentions of visiting family, room would be better with a king bed rather than 2 queens

pretty landscaping, quiet, the filter water machine, room was very clean and welcoming, close to everything

small rooms with the 2 queens, no place to hang wet towels, TV would not shut off and we had to disconnect the power cable. WiFi didn’t always work.

Fantastic! Will be staying here again

I stayed at the El Rancho Motel for 4 nights and I would gladly recommend this facility to anyone who is in the area. I will absolutely be staying here again! My stay on Coronado was actually for an event at the Convention Center across the harbor in San Diego - this motel was within walking distance to the ferry terminal, many restaurants, a market, and some local shops. The beds were very comfortable, the rooms were clean, and overall it was a lovely place to stay. Additionally, the front desk staff was very friendly and had my room prepared well in advance of my arrival. I was able to check in early which I was very grateful for as my flight came in earlier in the day. Lastly, this location is close to the airport and easy to find - about a 15 minute car ride. It is also close to the convention center - about a 10 minute car ride. All of this makes this a prime location if you want something laid back and with great value and location.

My only complaint about this is the shower. I'm only about 5'3" but the shower heads are located very high up. The shower head also did not have much room to adjust and at its current height sprayed directly into my face if I didn't stand on my tip toes the whole time. Not a deal breaker, but having the shower head be at least slightly more adjustable would be great :) One other thing to keep in mind is this is located right off of a busy road so there is quite a bit of traffic sound. I didn't mind it personally but it could be obnoxious to a light sleeper.

Beautiful location and rooms. Was extremely pleased with how clean it was and for the price, probably one of the best and most affordable places I have ever stayed in California.

The only thing that was a bit rough was parking, but if the front spots were taken, there was usually room in the back alleyway parking which happened to be more convenient for loading/ unloading luggage.

Handy place and reasonable for Coronado, clean, comfortable.

Cute and flamingo area and front seating. comfy room and appreciated fridge and microwave.

Please fix the safety issue of the sharp piece on bed frame closest to the bathroom. My husband got a bad bleed on leg and almost did it again 2 days later, as did I. I reported it and some bubble wrap was put over but it just kept falling off.

Cute property that is filthy and full of bugs inside the room.

Cute on the outside. Near base.

Room was very dirty and I found many black eggs in my bed. I ended up leaving hours after checking in.

wonderfull stay

The location is great, walking distance everywhere that I went, the room was clean, nice, it had everything need, easy to check in, staff was so nice they left some balloons for my son for his birthday.

I felt parking was kind of limited, so I park and walk everywhere.

With a few tweaks this motel could be perfect.

Location

No person in motel office…everything done through texting. Hairdryer did not work. Overhead fan blew dirt onto bed.

I would definitely return again and again.

The staff was so helpful and friendly. I felt like we really could have been close friends. Everything was exactly as their photos showed. It was very clean, cozy and relaxing

The room was a little small but the 'cottage' atmosphere was so quaint and clean that I didn't care.

A lovely little stay

The location was perfect, and the room while small was absolutely adorable! This was a belated Mother's Day Trip for me from my family and the stay was so fun. Everything was exactly as described and for a night on Coronado you cannot beat the price!

Sweet place. Great staff and nice location

Beautiful location that is loved and well cared for. The room was quite small but it was just what I needed, so worked out great. Loved the convenient parking, the sweet outdoor spaces, and ocean breezes. The staff are warm and friendly and really care about the quality of your stay. The owner Irene was wonderful and very available for assistance. Loved it and look forward to coming back again

The check in was different, but efficient, thru txt & a phone call.

Beds were very comfortable, pillows too. Location is great.

Very good

We loved the location and the fact that is was a small motel. We didn't see many guests and they were all quiet. They have 2 very nice sitting areas. When the weather was good we used them. The water pressure and heat were both good in the shower. The cleaning crew was good. The space was a bit small for 2 beds, but there was a nice closet and dresser. They had an iron/iron board and blow dryer available as well as beach towels and different size phone cases for the water. The frig was a great size and the microwave worked well. Our room was on the end, so you could hear the traffic which didn't bother us, but may bother others. Between opening the door or window and the ceiling fan, the temperature in the room was comfortable. The motel was a 2 block walk one way to many restaurants and a 5/6 block walk to others. The beach about 1 mile.

The biggest issue we had was the wifi. It was in and out all the time. That became frustrating as we were there several days. There is a coffee maker, but I was left with 2 decaf coffees and only 1 caffeinated one which I didn't like. I was able to text the person in charge, but it would have been nice to have someone on site. The "ice machines" were ok, but if you really needed ice, you would have needed to go out and buy some.
