Location was great. House was cute & aside from house not being ready on time we enjoyed it

House was not ready at 4:00 We arrived a little before 3 and had plans to go to the beach since we were early. We tried key pad to see if house was ready for a quick bathroom break- the key pad worked- but we noticed the house hadn't been cleaned. I called and was told it would be cleaned. We popped down to the beach and came back a little before 4. House cleaning was taking place-House wasn't ready at 4:00. Cleaning crew didn't finish till 4:20- doesn't seem like a huge deal but when you've been on the road for 12 hours it is. I also don't know how thorough the cleaning crew was if they were there for only an house- Ping pong ball left out on the floor, hair ball under a table and contact lens left on the bathroom floor. Also the shower curtain situation in the clawfoot tub needs to be shortened. It pools in the shower and that's gross to use after someone else- and it didn't get cleaned/replaced in between visitors.

Nice, old-style cottage but just this one time; not again.

There is a lot to like about Heron's Watch. You are 50 yards from the boardwalk and from there to the beach. You are 30 yards for a neighborhood pool that is nice. We had ample parking in front of the house and a side area for the rented bikes. You're about 50 yards to a "boat" dock if you want to launch kayaks or SUPs. It's a great friendly neighborhood. Easy walk to The Red Bar and bike ride to 30A for other food options. The house has a lot of character and mostly central open area with bedrooms and bathrooms on the perimeter which was nice.

Location...we found the corner lot for Heron's Watch to be loud - traffic, people from Red Bar, and construction vehicles. If you plan to knock off early or have little ones that might be roused by loud partygoers, consider another option like Pine Street in Grayton. Also, the kitchen appliances are dated and the dishwasher, washing machine and dryer are loud. I mean VERY LOUD. I mean we shut the bedroom doors if one was going. Maybe it was just our trip but the wifi wasn't working well. I unplugged it and restarted it a couple of times but nothing the last half of the trip. Also the showers were small and the ladies in my group said it was a task to shave legs. Just saying! Lastly, there wasn't a lot of useful leftover items from previous renters. There were only 2 kitchen garbage bags for the week, no salt/pepper, coffee filters or anything else. Be sure to bring extra of those things.
