About this cottage rental
This unit is right next to the beautiful Chesapeake Bay. There's a house in between us and the beach, but there are no roads to cross, just jump on the new boardwalk and it will take you right to the beautiful wide sandy beach! This one bedroom Beach Side unit features one Queen size bed, a full size bed and a twin bed all in the large master bedroom. We have high speed WiFi and a large 50 inch Smart TV for your entertainment. Parking is directly outside your door and you can self check in and out with our combination lock system. Even with a bit of modernizing this property is a historical home that is now over 85 years old. It has some eccentricities that reflect building standards and designs from the turn of the last century that lends to its charm as an older beach cottage. Even so, we hope that you will love our older and charming "Cozy Bay View". We are right next to the public beach access with a new boardwalk that will take you right to the beach. Our kitchen is fully stocked with a stove, refrigerator, microwave and toaster so you can easily prepare your meals. We have a bar area for dining with 3 bar stools. We have just installed a new leather sofa with a power reclining system. Quiet hours begin at 9 PM. We are pet friendly with appropriate fees. This is a Family/Residential unit and area. No parties or loud music or noise. You can park directly outside your door and self check in and out. And yes, we are pet friendly! (with appropriate pet fees) This unit is one of 3 units subdivided in this Historical 1950's era home. Nothing is shared as each unit has it's own parking as well as its own entrance and exit. There is a free public marina with 3 concrete boat ramps only a few blocks away and we have plenty of off-street parking for boats/trailers and vehicles. Quiet hours begin at 9 PM.

The wrong code was sent to us via email a few days ahead of time so we were unable to get into the place to begin with. They were on top of getting back with us once we message about not being able to get in. Parking was tight when the neighbors got there. They ended up scrathing our truck getting in and out out there car. We slept on the floor the last 2 nights because the living room was not cool. Definitely needed another cooling source when its hot! It is very close to the beach which was nice. It is located in a nice area. Overall, we would stay in a different place next time for the money.

The unit was very clean and was accurate as described on the site. It was just a short walk to the sandy beach of the Chesapeake Bay. Our biggest complaint was the air conditioning. There was only one small window A/C unit in the bedroom. It was not enough to keep the unit comfortable. We had to place fans in the hall area to pull cool air into living area which is where another bed was located. It stayed uncomfortably warm in the unit (76-80 degree). It was hot outside, but only around low 90’s so not so hot that a properly cooled home should be able to keep comfortable.

Location to beach is great. Not ocean front but close. No views of beach. Place is dark can’t open curtains due to very close neighbors. We wanted toast and pop tarts for breakfast but had no toaster. No outlets in bathroom for drying hair where the only mirror is. I had to blow dry hair in bedroom and blew a breaker. Luckily my husband found breaker box outside and fixed it. We called owner but no response. So I then got ready in kitchen with my little make up mirror.

Great little cozy cottage with all you could ask for very nice and clean plenty of room for family and friends to enjoy I would definitely love to stay there again.

Unfortunately this listing has no business on a reputable site like VRBO which we have been using for years.
The code given for entry did not work when it was below freezing outside
There was no heat in the living room.
The living room baseboard heater was in disrepair with exposed hot electrical wires
The bathroom had no outlet
The bathroom blinds had missing slats which prevented seeing in the window
The shower curtain and towel rack were not attached and continued to fall down
The bathroom sink would not drain
The ceiling in the shower had peeling paint that continued to fall into the bath tub.
Rodents in the walls made significant noise around the clock.
The unit was separated from an adjacent unit by an old window that was never filled in and instead had a thin piece of plywood, allowing us to completely hear each other.
The kitchen pans had peeling tephelon
There were no simple cleaning supplies such as a dustpan and broom as mentioned in the instructions
The only living room light source required reaching to the ceiling to screw and unscrew the bulb to turn it on.
We ultimately left the premises a day early.
Communication with the property managers was poor.

We like the clean and newly renovated apartment we rented. There is a good access to the pubic beach. I just wish for the easier way to communicate with the owner through the cellphone.

This is a great little beach cottage that is less than a mintue walk to the beach. The unit is very clean and and comfortable and the owners were fantastic. We needed to reach them at check in and the response was within minutes! The kitchen had all the pots, pans and dishes you would need and having all the linens and towels provided was so helpful. We enjoyed the place very much and would definitley stay there again. Thank you for a great week!

This is a great little beach cottage that is less than a mintue walk to the beach. The unit is very clean and and comfortable and the owners were fantastic. We needed to reach them at check in and the response was within minutes! The kitchen had all the pots, pans and dishes you would need and having all the linens and towels provided was so helpful. We enjoyed the place very much and would definitley stay there again. Thank you for a great week!

So the blinds fell off the window where the plastic bit on the wall had been damaged and tape was the apparent fix. There was a bucket under the kitchen sink to catch runoff from the sink. The oil radiator in the living room was not properly put back together last it was worked on and the cover is hanging from the wall. We encountered a mouse inside the home. There was also another critter in the roof just above the door. There was another window, that also did not work properly, that I left unlocked for a couple of mild days. When the wind picked up that window literally fell into the house. I had to place the window back on the wall. I would not recommend anyone to stay here.

Willoughby spit
I was so happy to be able to find a place that was pet friendly and close to the beach. The rental was very clean! I was concerned at first of the neighborhood but realized this is not a tourist area, and the place could a face lift. Overall we had a good experience.

Great spot to stay! Close to the beach and easy access to other Tidewater spots.
Everything was as advertised. I would recommend this spot and would stay there again if the opportunity presents itself.

The beach was nice and the property was nice but was in a bad area.
The property was in a bad area. The road just next to where we stayed that lead to the beach was covered in glass. We didn’t know why. But soon found out. When beach goers parked their car there someone was breaking into them. This happened two times during our 4 day stay. Although we liked our unit we stayed in. It was nice and had everything we needed. And was clean except for under the small bed in the bedroom there was dog poop. I’m sure the cleaning people just missed it.

Great relaxing time!
This is a great place for families to stay! I can not recommend it enough. The unit is very clean and as all the things you need. A very short stroll to get to the beach which is beautiful. All the locals are friendly. It's just so relaxing and peaceful and can't wait to return.

Check in was a breeze. Neighbors were thoughtful and considerate. Proximity and cleanliness and coziness are outstanding. Dogs and teens and middle aged woman had the best visit. We enjoyed relaxing on the beach, walking, looking for crabs at night, we are Willoughby Spit fans, now! Comfy beds, equipped kitchen ( could use a can opener, but cork screw was available) Sundown is an event. Hurry to the beach for breathtaking sunset. Try VBSurf for lessons at VA Beach.

So very cute
Going to see our kids, we needed extra room because of our dogs and we found this one, which was very economically priced and convenient.. This small perfect rental was just a block away from the kids so we could walk to their home and just a hop skip and jump to the ocean. It is decorated so cute, kitchen is small but, with all the great restaurants there, why cook? You are on Vacation! Do not sit in the recliner, you will not want to get up! It is a great clean rental, check it out!

Perfect, Quite, clean and comfortable
Although we did not meet George, the place was exactly as advertised. Nice little place, a 1/4 cup of coffee from the beach. great for a walk in the am. Unit was clean and accessible. We were supposed to bring our dog , and he was gladly accepted by the owner, but he did not come, I wish he had due to all there was to do and go with the dog. Parks, craft shows and just good ol walks. If we come back to the VA coast we would stay here again. Thanks Goerge.

The owner is a nasty and untruthful person who fails to provide truthful information about his property due to the fact that the neighborhood is located in a place that is laden with high crime in accordance with the policemen I filed a police report with as a consequence of a mugging.He is also in violation of the federal law which provides for the assistance of service animals. I would recommend never coming to his place as he is just a very unlawful, untruthful and nasty person and the neighborhood of his property is in a high crime District where it is common place for cars to be broken into among other things.

Great location for a beach getaway
Super close to the beach! Cottage was very clean! Great non-stick cookware and ample dishes for eating in. It was the perfect size for our family of four. Close to good restaurants, shopping and other sites. All requests were responded to promptly. We would definitely return to this property.
