A unique place to stay in a beautiful and interesting setting. Felt like a home away from home. The property managers were so helpful and always available to help with any requests.

What a gem of a property in the ever so charming town of Monemvasia. We couldn't have asked for a better hostess in Ersi who went above and beyond! Exceptional views, comfortable accommodation, although be warned - the bathroom is the tiniest I have ever seen. If you are a bigger person you will struggle. We stayed in Butterfly Cottage. The view was simply exquisite - sunrises are viewed directly from your patio. Very relaxing accommodation.
The bathroom was extremely small and the drain in the shower didn't drain properly.

Everything, is a perfect word to sum up what we liked about the venue. With House in the Castle you dont simply rent a room where you can sleep, you pay for an experience which starts from the first minutes you arrive in Monemvasia until the last minutes. The host is wonderful, greeting you at the entrance of the castle to assist you with your luggage, and trust me, this help is much appreciated as the floor in the castle is mainly ancient cobble stone and carrying troller bags is quite difficult. Parking is an issue but the host helps you find a spot nearby making the process much more comfortable. As you get accommodated with your house you are met with an incredible view of the southern part of the castle from the terrace of the house. The host has no hesitation in offering numerous suggestions of activities and things to visit within the castle walls as well as outside these. Each day the host made sure we had everything we needed, house refreshed, amenities replenished. To sum up, the feeling you have while staying at House in the Castle is not one in which you are renting an apartment or a home, but one where you are visiting relatives or old friends which you haven't seen in several years.

The check in was incredible. We met at the gate and our luggage taken. When we arrived there was fruit, water, wine and biscuits. Loved the location. One of the most amazing places we have ever stayed!!
Nothing. It was fantastic!

The house was amazing! Well appointed, super clean and very comfortable. We had a balcony with million dollar views of the ocean and the Greek mainland.
Even more amazing than the house was the host - Ersi met us at the main gate and organised our luggage to be taken to the house. From there, she was super helpful with information and ideas about the local area to make our stay great. In addition, we’d find fresh fruit in the fridge! Nice touch indeed.
August is really busy in Monemvasia - only thing I’d do differently is go in September when it’s not so busy.

Renovated, original and well appointed property with wonderful see views from the balcony. The owner picks you up at the entrance of the no-traffic allowed castle and helps you with the luggage (a big plus).
The bathroom plumbing was not working properly.

The whole family enjoyed the experience of staying at such a nice house in the castle. Very welcoming host (Chrisoula) with a lot of tips for what to do in the region. A plus that we could order traditional breakfast and get it delivered to the house.

Living inside a sixth century Byzantine citadel is a dreamy experience in itself, but having an amazing stay within the citadel with it’s own terrace overlooking the fortress walls and the sea it’s unbelievable!
Highly recommended for seekers of stories to tell!

Uniqueness and quite location at the end of the Main Street. Hosts (George and Chrisoula) met us at the main gate on arrival and walked us back on departure. They also arranged for assistance with our luggage for which we were grateful as the walking paths are uneven. They had a lovely welcome fruit bowl, wine, water and Greek sweets.
Nothing comes to mind. But mind the height of the doors and steps leading to the bathroom.

Beautiful and warm and generous hosts. The rooms were very comfortable and clean. The balcony had a gorgeous view. We felt really spoilt at having treats left for us. Don’t remember the last time we experienced that!
Everything was perfect.

A very sweet apartment with everything we needed. Very comfortable and very convenient to restaurants and shopping. Direct access to a gorgeous beach- the water was amazing.
The host was incredibly kind and responsive. They left wonderful treats in the room and gave us great suggestions for walks places to see.
Everything was wonderful- nothing we didn’t like.

The apartment was beautifully designed and decorated with stunning views from the balcony and main bedroom. Tucked away from the hustle and bustle but just minutes from restaurants, bars and shops. Chrisoula was so kind, easy to contact and included lots of unexpected touches like fresh fruit (including lots of oranges which we juiced using the electric juicer!), bottled water and a bottle of wine.

Great accommodation, amazing views, generous provisions, very clean and a fantastic host who went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect.

We absolutely loved the location. The view was beautiful and serene. The hosts were the most attentive, warm and friendly mannered we have come across thus far. Such a great location - close to a great little cafe at the end (near light house walk) and handy for bog walk around the island too!
Personal preference would be to make the exit lights dimable as they were sadly incredibly bright for sleeping. We also don't find a hand shower very practical, especially when washing your hair (not fixed to the wall and nowhere to place it on the wall)

Despite grey, rainy and stormy weather we had two wonderfull days in Monemvasia… the host is super kind and informative, we enjoyed every minute of our stay in the old town’s most cool appartment with a stunning view :-)

Beautiful place, especially loved the huge balcony with a view! The hosts were kind enough to leave bottled water, fruit, local wine and local treats! They even helped us with our bags to and from the car (if you stay anywhere within the castle you have to leave your car at the gate). Highly highly recommend!

Our stay was phenomenal. The host was extremely helpful and moved our bags in and out from the castle gate to the house while we parked the car. The view from the house is incredible and all of Monemvasia was one of my favorite places we stayed while in Greece. The interior was also quote spacious for being in an ancient castle house. Very clean as well.

Kooky, original and unique. absolutely lovely hosts, so kind and helpful
Nothing to do with the hosts or the property, it was just very windy during our stay

The location within the old castle is fantastic, but also on a very quiet street. Nice comfortable house within a few minutes of the Main Street, with a range of restaurants and bars - the best food we had in Greece. The owner was very helpful. Note that you have to park your car outside the castle and hope to find a space not too far down the hill - the plus side is that the castle area is entirely pedestrian and is an absolutely fantastic location in terms of the history, geography and facilities - worth a couple of days but it may not be a good choice for physically infirm people as there are a lot of steps and a steep climb to get to the upper castle.
Quite pricey for Greece, but I suspect costs are genuinely higher for getting things in to the Castle

Living in an ancient castle is an experience we will cherish forever. The location was fantastic with sea and wall views out of the main area of town. Everything you need is provided in the kitchen. The host is so gracious and thoughtful. 10 out of 10

This is a fantastic and romantic place, taking you back in history to the Byzantine era. The House in the Castle has terraces that give you the sea and Upper Town panorama. The interior is tastily decorated and very homey, though a bit crammed ( e. g. the bathrooms) but all the houses/buildings keep the historical architectural features.
We could not have better hosts than Ersi and her husband! They waited for us at the entrance to the Castle, helped with parking and the luggage, and took us to the house. Ersi gave us information on events and tours, and was so prompt responding to all requests. She even brought us a regular coffee maker, with coffee and filters. We found bottled water and tasty fruit in the kitchen. Many thanks for making us feel so welcome!
The pillows are like bricks…That did not make our stay less pleasant, and we just slept without pillows, but it would help to change them with more comfortable ones.
This is a vertical apartment with 3 levels and therefore many stairs. It didn’t bother us, but it is not for elderly people or people with walking disabilities.
