- really nice and safe neighborhood, tia supermarket and cafes, eateries close by where international cards are accepted :)
- loved the tiny private terrace for my yoga practice
- super close (by taxi) to the bus station and airport
- quiet at night
- many other solo female traveler around :)
- great vegetarian dinner
- filtered water to use would be amazing and also much better for the environment instead of people buying so many plastic bottles at the supermarket :)

The only good thing about this place was the location (being the only hostel close to the bus terminal and airport) and the falafel shop joined to the hostel. I saw some people cooking so the kitchen must have been alright. Bathrooms were clean.
The room was stuffy and hot even with the fan; the hostel was mainly full of travellers passing through, so not a great vibe. Only 2 bathrooms so expect to wait especially in the morning rush.

I've stayed at this location before on my travels and usually I am a solo traveler. This time I had a group of friends traveling with me and this was a very convenient location for our group. The staff was very accommodating to our needs including our needs for an early morning departure.

I travel into Guayaquil frequently, on the same flight, which comes in very late at night. Casa Michael has become my regular layover spot when I fly in. He responds swiftly to any messages I send and Moses is usually listening for my arrival and meets me quickly at the door and helps me with my luggage.
I like to book a room with air conditioning because it's often warm in Guayaquil. I'm usually up early to catch a van shuttle home to Cuenca and he is usually up and will help me not only get a taxi booked but get my luggage down to the curb super early in the morning.
Staying at Casa Michael provides me with a familiar face and reliable consistency. The location is just a few minutes from the airport, bus terminal, and van shuttle services. A midnight taxi from the airport usually charges $5 to get to the location and oftentimes the taxi drivers know where Casa Michael is located. I have had a few drivers try to charge me $7 but I simply tell them that $5 is what I usually pay and they always agree.
The taxi service to the van shuttle is usually $3 in the morning. Casa Michael is a convenient option for budget-friendly travel. This has been my third stay with him this year and I will continue to use this location when I fly into Guayaquil.

Very close to the main bus terminal and even closer to the airport. Located on a quiet street.
They don't supply drinking water.

situated in a safe zone of Guayaquil, it has all you need. I had a bit of an unluck one but what matters is that the hostel does right by it and they certainly have. Customer service IS a priority to them.
Had unfortunate room-mates. little the hostel can do about its guests though.

Close to airport and bus station
Comfortable bed
Good common areas
Close to shops and restaurants
At night and early morning it was so noisy, mainly reception staff seemed to be watching videos on high volume. Bring ear plugs, as everything else is good but you need to block out the noise if you want to sleep.
Restaurant next door was closed for the day, which was disappointing.

Relatively close to bus station and airport.
Helpful staff - gave good information and ordered me a car to take me to airport.
Good communal areas.
Delicious food from their next-door restaurant.
A bit noisy as my room was just off reception.

I liked the vibe very much. It was a nice place to relax. The location is nice to get to bus station and the airport. The host is kind.
The utensils are very basic, doesn't make it very comfortable. A coffee machine/stuff to help prepare decent coffee would have been nice. Charging $1 extra for a bunk bed in a room with AC was funny, interesting.

Staff is super friendly and hostel is small, but very nice!
Location was perfect for me to catch my flight in the morning. Quiet in the night.
Bunk beds are little bit shaky and squeaking when you turn around
