Very central. Clean room and great value for money.

The location of the Hostal is perfect. Only a short walk from Metro station Gran Via. Right on the shopping street of Fuencarral. To be in the city and go out for shopping and explore the centre of Madrid is perfect.

There wasn't always someone available at the reception. So the evening that I arrived I had to call by phone to get access to the property. I had warned them that I would be arriving after midnight.

Good

Great location in the city, you could hear the sounds from the street, but as the street was pedestrian only with the windows and front windows closed we slept well. Wi-Fi worked well.

The staff spoke poor English, but they had prepared for it and we got along well with the help of translators from their side and our side.

The place is clean and welcoming, at a great location near Gran Via metro station. The staff was also very kind.

Please let me sleep

Amazing location, nice staff and clean room

The most important things in any accomodation are being able to shower and sleep. The sleeping is seriously lacking in this hostel, especially if you are assigned a room next to the reception, which have paper-thin walls. The doorbell rings well into the night and early in the morning, telephone rings, cleaning ladies discuss their tasks at 7am on a Sunday (every word can be heard), other people snoring, having s*x, coming and going. The noise from the avenue is the least of the problems. Absolutely overpriced for 3 sleepless nights.

The location is really top! It is in the city center. Equipment was quiet new and comfortable.

Unfortunately the only window is to ventilation shaft and that is the only access to a "fresh" air. Also because A/Cs are located there, we always heard noises inside, even though windows supposed to be isolated. Also if you are unlucky and there is person smoking from their window next to your, your room will be poluted. Also often we heard some other noises as this is old house with wooden stairs.

nice stay overall

location is right off Gran Via street and metro station. i got a private room for my own. stores are downstairs and restaurants are everywhere. very convenient

somebody smoked in elevator. it took me a while to find which floor the hostel is and actually i had to text messaging the reception asking for it. it would be nice they out this information in their welcome message

As we stayed only for the night & left the hostal at 4 30 am there is little to say..

We were there just for the night. We had no brwakfast. The location is great, so close to Gran Via & all the shopping centres.

A bigger bathroom, the shower is too small & the toilet literally touches the sink.

Good location

Location, No street noise despite being in the centre. Overall I would recommend this place, location is great, I would advise to bring earplugs if you are light sleeper.

Shower had dirt (mould?) gathered in the edges. It was cleaned inside but it wasn't looking very pleasant. The corridors were very thin so you can hear other guest, the doors closing were very loud ( not because of people slamming them, there is just no way of closing them quietly). I was lucky enough that people staying in this place during my stay were not loud party goers so I could still have decent sleep.

OK for 2 nights

Perfect location in walking distance to all the sights, restaurants, museums etc in the city centre. You should request a quiet room in the back (the house is located in one of the main shopping areas). Friendly staff, they didn't speak English but managed by using google translator. You can leave your suitcases before and after checking in/out. Beds were comfortable. OK if you're on a budget or staying just for one or two nights.

The heating device (no working radiator in our room) was very old and did not work properly, we got some extra blankets, which was OK for two nights. Supposed non-smoking room smelled of stale smoke and the floor was not very clean, extremely dusty. Wifi signal very low in our room.

Excellent location, good value for capital city stay.

Excellent location within a short distance from Gran Via metro. Lift to the 3rd floor entrance. Friendly staff. Toiletries were provided.

The double room which I had booked for solo occupancy only had a narrow window that opened onto a small vertical internal space. with washing hanging immediately outside. This would not have been a particular issue but if the blind was open, other guests could see into the room from other windows nearby. The blind could therefore only be partially opened. As I was not in the room much it was not a significant problem for me but other guests may find it claustrophobic, particularly if sharing.

The Manager who's greeting you is just so nice and beyond helpful... She answered my few requests in few minutes... Always with a smile ! The hotel is really well located and the room with balcony are really enjoyable... I highly recommend this place... It deserves more stars !!!

Too noisy !

Location

We requested for an upgraded room but was given a room stinking with cigarette ! Therefore we ended up in room 6 , tiny room, noisy at night with trucks for bin collection and street cleaner! It was 4 sleepless nights! The only advantage is the location !

Spectacular location and clean facilities at an affordable price.

Location was perfect and right next to the shopping district and Gran Via and Metro. Excellent to move around the city. Amazing value for money. Room was cleaned and towels were replaced with fresh ones upon request. Very easy check-in and check-out services.

It wasn't any fault of the Hostal, but being located in quite a busy street meant that it tended to get quite noisy in the room due to noise from the outside. Not unbearable as we still managed to get a good rest but something to keep in mind. One of the receptionists didn't understand English which made it a bit difficult to communicate but we managed through Google Translate and he was still very helpful!
