Perfect location, 1 minute walk from the beach and nice view over the port if you have a sea-facing apmt. Basic but functional facilities. Great common outdoor area with BBQ. Laidback host.

No aircon so it can be quite hot at night in summer.

There is something of a French tradition (now dying out, fortunately) of guests in self-catering accommodation providing all their own bed linen, towels, kitchen cloths, etc.. Be aware that this property does NOT supply any of these items as a matter of course but it will hire them to you... An older house divided into a number of apartments of differing sizes, it is situated across the main road leading into Porto Pollo - which can get busy. The building is right at the front of the property, close to the road. There is an outside shared BBQ area - where there is also a shared clothes washing machine. There are plenty of notices posted up spelling out “House Rules”... A “security deposit” of, currently, €300 is required in cash on arrival. It is said to be refundable on departure subject to any charges which may be levied - apparently including for not leaving the apartment in pristine condition. The tariff imposed for your default is one of the items set out in the House Rules... No credit/debit cards are accepted for any form of payment. The television has more value as an aged curiosity than for actually trying to see anything on the screen... Ours was a spacious apartment with two bedrooms and glimpses (rather than a real view) of the sea. The kitchen was set up for cooking proper meals. The bathroom was large and seemed to have plenty of hot water - usage of which (as well as the toilet!) figured in the House Rules... Once across the road there is a short path directly onto the beach. The beach itself is nicely sandy but narrow; the water is crystal clear and great for swimming. Porto Pollo is not a particularly attractive place. There is a reasonably well stocked supermarket about 250 m from the property: in the opposite direction at about the same distance is a boulangerie and a small but well stocked epicerie which sells freshly caught fish. Eateries seem to have a major focus on pizza and other fast food.

It was, on balance, okay but not a friendly or welcoming environment.
