The first floor has a family room with a flat screen TV, and cable hookup. Wireless Internet is available throughout the house. Property is exactly as advertised. Used this for my extended family who came to visit us in Belmar. We've rented several houses over the years and this was the best thus far. The location is nice, right across from lake but is on a busy road and while didn't bother us as family spent most of their time at our place 2 blocks from beach, this is a good 5-6 block walk to the beach. Only issue we had was only 1 working key was provided so we ended up having to get an extra key cut but management was quick and responsive. Lots of room in the house with two separate living rooms which worked out great as we had multiple families with adults and kids. Would book again.

We were in town for a family wedding. It was a great location for us, and we enjoyed the ability to spend time together. We brought extra towels, some bars of soap, and a few extra folding chairs for the kitchen table. The house and amenities are accurately described on vrbo. We had an issue with ants coming in the front door and had to buy a bunch of small traps and bug spray. For this reason I cannot give our stay a perfect score.

Jay's house is in a great location for relaxing and going to the beach. The backyard is shaded in the morning and the front porch in the afternoon. There was plenty of space for us and no waiting for batheooms. We were not awakened by the trains at night and the neighborhood was pretty quiet. Lake Como across the street adds beauty and serenity, esp. the swans.

We had a great time at the house. Perfect Location!!! The house is just as described, minimal but worked perfectly for us. Jay was a great host and helped us when we couldn’t figure out the keys (our fault not his). Thanks Jay!

It’s a great house in a great location with minimal furniture & conveniences inside. Each bed has only 2 pillows & each bathroom has only 2 towels. We had to go out & buy extra toilet paper, paper towels & even garbage bags for the weekend. The grill ran out of propane & the only tv in the house makes a horrible beeping sound anytime you push a button on the remote. It’s a great house that could be much improved if the host put a little more effort into

Rented this house for my wedding. Spacious with plenty of room for the kids to run around and the upstairs loft was key to giving adults and kids their own spaces. The place was spotless and communication with property manager was great. I would definitely recommend

With 5 large bedrooms and 4 full baths, each family member had enough space. The younger ones had room to run around and spread out their toys in the living area.The outdoor spaces had lovely views of the lake, ducks & flowers.

The house is large and it was nice to have both an upstairs and downstairs sitting area so the older kids could watch TV while my wife and I could spend time with the younger kids downstairs at night. The bedrooms are big, the bathrooms are nice and it was a nice place to come back to after long days at the beach. The AC and ceiling fans kept us cool, even on really hot days. The upstairs deck was great to relax on.

Great house for a few small families together

Enter into open floorplan with living room on right, spacious kitchen on left. Utensils provided in kitchen were adequate. Glassware and dishes were nice. Side by side refrigerator has water dispenser, icemaker possibly broken as ice was all over bottom of freezer. First floor has 3 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms. Laundry facility (solid new washer/dryer) in back of the house, door to small/medium backyard with small, decently hot grill (propane tank included, refill when leaving). 1st floor living room has smart TV, leather couches (comfortable seating for 5 on couches). Dining table had seating for 6. Head upstairs (door at top of stairs) to 2nd floor with another living room complete with couches and TV. Off the living room is door to the front-facing deck. Back inside is a full bath and bedroom, and master bedroom with en suite full bath (tiled standing shower as well as a separate shower/tub combo) and walk in closet (wire rack shelf, no other hanging/storage). Biggest pluses: We had 5 groups here (2 couples with 1 kid each, 1 couple with no kids, 2 singles) and everyone had space and was very comfortable. Kitchen was great, cooked most of our meals in Upstairs master bathroom looked recently redone and was very nice Belmar great town to vacation in, house decently proximate to beach Pet friendly Biggest issues: As mentioned in another review, not sure if there is an issue with bugs - we saw one cockroach when we first arrived in one of the bedrooms on a curtain, none after that (we kept all food in bags/in the fridge) No shower curtain/shower curtain rod on master bedroom's bathtub - fine as we were using for bathing a 2 year old Grill was only adequate for full household Backyard was very buggy (mosquitoes) - not sure if it was the medium-length grass, the proximity to the lake, or both Not enough seating for everyone to eat meals together - would've been nice to have an 8 person dining table instead of a 6 person, there should be space for it Master bedroom dresser drawer broken Upon arrival, deadbolt wouldn't work (frozen, fixed with WD-40) and doorknob wouldn't latch, so front door could be pushed open with moderate force Overall, I would recommend. Rate was reasonable. Landlord was helpful/friendly about the issue with the door. Security deposit was promptly returned. Good space that could be really amazing with fixing a few of the small issues I listed above.

Prior to the arrival and during the stay I had many questions and I found the owner to be extremely responsive, polite and easy to work with. The response was usually within 15 min and no longer then 30 min which was fabulous. The property was large with many bedrooms and bathrooms. Towels and bedding was provided, there were beach chairs and an umbrella and cooler for use at the beach. The air conditioner was a plus and worked well which we really needed in the very hot and humid weather we experienced. The kitchen had plenty of dinnerware and silverware and was quite well appointed. Both decks were enjoyable to use when he night breeze came in.

I am a first time renter of a vacation property. While I was satisfied with the spaciousness and cleanliness of the house, I was surprised to see that it lacked basic amenities (i.e. wash cloths, soap, shampoo, tissues, paper towels, etc.). I wish I had known this prior to arriving. Only 1 bath towel and 1 hand towel was provided for each of us. As a beach rental, I had expected that beach towels would be provided. Aside from this, my experience with HomeAway and the owner of the property, Jay, was very nice and easy.

The rental was a great disappointment

Immediately upon opening the door I was welcomed with filth. The floors were in need of sweeping and cleaning. The walls were all damaged with holes in need of repair and dirty . The bathrooms were unusable. The shower doors were filthy and shower floors as well. The shower caddy stands were so rusted you would need a tetanus shot if you touched them. The carpets upstairs were disgusting. In spite of all this we stayed because there were four familes staying and there would be no where else at last minute to accommodate everyone. So we cleaned and scrubbed our first vacation day. If that was the worst of it maybe we could of had an ok time, however the next atrocity was when I saw a cockroach. I thought maybe an isolated incident, but what a mistake that was . By the third day roaches were crawling in the dishwasher. Toaster, stove, and countertops. One of the families left and was completely freaking out. The rest of the families packed up and put everything in plastic . Everything can be backed up with photos and video. On the up side the location was great and the house was big.
