Nothing, all was great

George and Ismina were very hospitable and friendly hosts. The stone house has lots of charm and character and it really feels like you're living Cyprus rather than staying in some nondescript apartment or hotel. Plenty of useful self-catering items in the kitchen. Everything worked well during our visit (tv, showers, wi-fi). There's an excellent bakery near the church and a good supermarket around the corner, also a long hours periptero (convenience store). The local delicacies, halloumi cheese (available in supermarket) and olive oil are excellent. Lympia is well located between Larnaca and Nicosia (about 40 minutes to each place) but a hire car is definitely required for self-driving tours.

Lympia is right on the edge of the Turkish occupied area and while perfectly safe it is a visible reminder of the difficulties that have been ongoing for many decades. Just a practical note if you are using European roaming. Make sure you manually lock onto a Greek Cyprus mobile network as the Turkish signal is stronger here and may not be in the European roaming zone. (I burnt up my balance not being aware of this).
