Location superb. Facilities basic but perfectly adequate. Service very friendly. Room was cleaned, new towels provided and bed made every day. Air con in the room worked very well. The Shower room was shared but I never had any problem accessing it. Excellent value for money and perfect for my trip (a quick unplanned week away to get some peace and quiet - a change of scenery to do some writing and complete a work project). The best thing about Lagoas is the two-tier roof terrace. WiFi signal was excellent and there are shades/umbrellas if you need to use a laptop. (WiFi reception in my room wasn't as good but it didn't really matter). I will definitely try to book this place again if I ever go back to Tavira.

Poor WiFi reception in the room. My room was a bit noisy if you wanted to go to bed early, 'cos on my side of Lagoas there was a loud restaurant, with tables in the street below my window. Also, whilst I was there Tavira had some sort of musical 'festival', with acts playing a few dozen yards away for three nights. The 'music' was simply too crass, talentless and terrible for words - just dreadful. Sitting on the terrace rooftop, you couldn't escape it! But that wasn't Lagoas' fault....

Our room was by the terrace. We were given a choice of rooms, and this turned out to be absolutely best choice for us. The air con was great. Hot water was great. TV was great. The two gorgeous owners were great. The location was - yes, you guessed it! Great. All in all, for a budget stay, this was as good as you could get. We'd go back tomorrow if we could.

Really, almost everything was great. The beautiful owners (Miugel and his partner) were so accommodating and friendly to us and the location was the best. There are stairs - but there are stairs all over in Portugal.....

Amazing terraces where you can aperitif. Very nice position close to the center and all the restaurants.

Really in the central of Tavira so easy access to everything. Very serviceminded staff and a brilliant roof terrace.

If anything a waterboiler on the room, however we did not asked for one so it might had been possible to get. Ask for instructions to the aircon since it has both a cooling and a heating function.

My room was a little far from the reception and neither of 2 Wifi networks were accessible from the room. I was using my personal internet the whole time.

Near by the river, minimarket loundry and loths pf resturant. Staff very helpfull.

The house is big and nice, with a terrace that is good to take sun or drink something.. It's near the Marine (~10 minutes by car) and clean.

One shower was broken (with almost no water) so all of us had to use the suite bathroom to take a shower. I missed a sponge and detergent to wash some laundry to use it again.. But nothing that screw up the stay.

The host was extremely accommodating, responding to my request for a cup for the coffee pot and bringing sugar and a stir spoon and showing me to a shelf in the communal refrigerator for the food I had brought with me from my previous guest house stay. The best thing about the place, other than the friendly host, was the fantastic bed and downy comforter and pillow. This was money well spent. Second to this was the nice patio accessible to rooms on the second floor, with a good view of the city across the roofline of the city. The stars at night were fabulous. It might be better to work a little more at providing a few more tables and chairs to allow more roomfuls of guests to arrange themselves without feeling they were intruding on the others.

The fact that he had to go to his own apartment to get the cup, sugar and spoon was rather strange. It seemed that those things should already have been out in the public area, clean and waiting to serve any comer. It seemed as though he / the establishment were afraid of having things stolen or freeloaded upon. If that is the case, some adjustment should be made -- a locking or even just closing door, for example, so that only guests have ready access to these accoutrements, but the place would then feel as welcoming and cozy as a guest house should. As it was, the entryway is open to the stairway to the street, and anyone can come right in, which leads to this feeling, I suppose, of needing to lock away the china, instant coffee and even the paper cups. This is something that it would be better to address to give the place a more welcoming feel, especially at the price of a single night's stay. Again, at this price point, the lack of any cooking facilities meant that going out to restaurants to eat was obligatory, which makes it even more expensive. They are right around the corner, but with that nice patio / terrace, it would be a good place to take some food and drink outside, if only one could prepare it.

Excellent very central location, easy to find free parking nearby. Owners stay in the hotel. There is a common fridge and tea facilities in the hotel. Very nice fish restaurant downstairs, lots of places to eat nearby.

The host was very welcoming and promptly responded to requests. The Danish comforters and cotton sheets were outstanding! The mattresses were firm memory foam. Flawless. The views of the stars at night from the terrace were great.

The refrigerator was a little far away and more like a Coke display than a real refrigerator.

Extremely central location, but on fairly quiet street. Had a lovely upstairs terrace overlooking the town. Receptionist was very helpful.
